  1. That's what ended the first incarnation. We can talk about scores after the fact.
  2. I forgot about that warlock Vatican assassin that drinks tiger blood!
  3. It's funny because I thought about posting my first AF15 as that was the one I had to work the hardest to get. I came across this book the other day and cannot bring myself to part with it as it came from a board member VW-Clobberin-Thing who has since passed away. I keep it for personal reasons now. There are a couple of others I will post like that here.
  4. Buzzetta's RECAP on 2nd Post of First Page - 10% off GI Joe - 20% off Everything else. GI Joe's will not be going lower because I will repost them in the Facebook toy group when I do my next round of posts there. Everything else is 20% off. Discount does not apply to Stranger Things Eleven Squishy - Not mine to give a discount on.
  5. I said I very much liked Zack Snyder's Justice League - read my review. I said it was an incredible film. I stand by what I said that the Whedon version was a chore to get through and its legacy is made worse by the release of the Snyder cut.
  6. I mean when it comes to the troll comment you know where I stand on that. With that said, I have something I may have to PM you about later if you do not mind.
  7. Agreed. When CBCS came into existence though there were a sizable number of books submitted through them to not only test them as a company but also in support of what they felt grading should be due to the the man leading the charge, Steve Borock. In time though CBCS had some hiccups and has firmly placed itself in second place. Some would argue that but whatevs. The point is that every book submitted to CBCS is a book not submitted to CGC. I agree with you about the surge in card submittals. I had mentioned in another thread that I was shocked at the value of the Jordan rookie card. It never occurred to me to really investigate what the other cards were worth from subsequent years. Last night I discovered what my 87' Fleer Jordan in a PSA 8 is worth. I mean I bought that for around $50 at one point. There seems to be a lot of money trading hands with cards that no one knew would be trading for as much money as they are. I figured the 87 card would be worth around a couple of hundred. Apparently that's a $1,000 card. No wonder there is a flood. I am thinking of sending cards in myself as I have a mess of Jeter cards that are trading for a decent chunk of change at PSA 8's and 9's. And every card that I send in slows the process even further.
  8. This is a pragmatic approach and one that definitely has merit. We see this many times on the comic book side of things how turnaround times have been impacted. While CGC is behind on turnaround times as the leading grading company for comic books they have maintained a decent handle on things. You would think that when CBCS came into existence that it would severely cut into the customer base which would naturally reduce TAT's due to a decreased number of submissions. Instead CGC seems to be grading more than they did eight years ago given the evidence of the expansion of their facilities. While only time will tell, CGC is hopefully using the lessons it has learned with comics and will be soon applying those practices to cards.
  9. Mr. 46 posts is also telling you to take a breath. He is newer than you at seems and he 'gets it'.
  10. Wait... @greggy... wait for it... wait for it.... Is that.... what... she said?!?!?!?!
  11. That line is so much funnier if you take the word 'variant' out.
  12. Now back to the topic at hand: With PSA closing their doors for awhile and AFA suspending tiers, what is the root of the problem here. Bored people with nothing to do but submit and cash out their collectables? Covid has caused a lack of production in grading facilities due to the maintenance of safety protocols? Anything I could be missing? What are the implications of this though? If people are cashing out does that mean we see a market correction? Does it mean that the market becomes stronger as more pieces are brought to market? If there are significant delays, how does this impact the market?
  13. You will appreciate this section of the boards: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/12-water-cooler/ I hear the covid thread is especially entertaining this time of year.
  14. Actually, I checked some of the other grading services. AFA is doing something similar. https://cgagrading.com/toygrader/
  15. Interesting... The Cardies are abuzz because PSA temporarily halted taking in submissions until July 1st. AFA is doing something similar. https://cgagrading.com/toygrader/
  16. Here is the official word from CGC back in 2013. Nothing higher than a 4.0. After that, it goes green.
  17. I have sent a graded comic in for grading 4x. In the first three instances the books came back at the same grade that I submitted them at but with the added signature of McFarlane who is usually conscious of what he is doing when he signs. The fourth book is still at CGC so I will let you know what happens. That was a TMNT Raphael in a 9.4 sent for the Eastman signing and a remarque. The trick is this. Don't pretend to think you know what you are doing. There are things that I know I can do better than most and there are things that I am fully aware that I would fail miserably at if put to task. One of those things is cracking a slab without screwing up the contents in anyway. So, I have CGC do it for me. Besides that, I have a personal belief that sending a book already in a slab is safer than removing it before the trip and placing it in a bag and board. Just my 2¢
  18. Oh... this was special order from Hasbro: https://hasbropulse.com/products/transformers-war-for-cybertron-unicron It was originally $600 https://www.polygon.com/2019/7/15/20694886/hasbro-haslab-transformers-unicron-cookie-monster-crowdfunding
  19. Not a meme... but this guy took a picture of how happy his wife was behind the Unicron Transformer he unboxed. Unicron was $600?
  20. I think it's cute when you try to be a smart alec and then ... well... this. And with that.... bed. or nap... I have to get up and finish some work for work tomorrow.
  21. Loving the Lego. One of the reasons I have been substantially dividing up the GI Joe SW and TF collections and started to sell off a lot of the raw comics is because I want to make space in my basement for a larger lego setup. I have it in my head that I basically want a model train layout. Right now I have the equivalent of a rather large dining room table with a train loop. In that loop are all the modulars that Lego has produced since they started the line. I want to get a bit more... creative though. The idea is to use a section of the space in the basement to frame around the wall in an L to do a bending loop with a secondary line or a yard. I want to clear out more though.
  22. You ever read a theory online and say this is ridiculous and then say... waitaminute... ? https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/avengers-endgame-theory-suggests-falcon-173700328.html
