  1. I thought it was that something about a milkshake bringing people to a yard or something.
  2. You would miss Cal if he permanently left.
  3. That's for certain other board member that create our delightful "Friday" threads.
  4. Gotta enjoy it in the 36 hrs while the novelty lasts.
  5. I had cal sign a ball once but he signed it with what he had... a black ballpoint pen... that hasn’t aged well I have a Jeter bat and the only other bats I would like is an auto Ripken or Mattingly bat. Even in the Bronx, Ripken commanded respect. Ripken was always a favorite of mine despite his obvious shortcoming of not playing in pinstripes.
  6. You eliminated the thirty day period when you agreed to expedite the order. You reneged on that part of the deal to be honest... now... personally I would never have agreed to that term in the first place. His rudeness, real or perceived is irrelevant. If it is real, then you would want to get him paid as quickly as possible and get him out of your life. Regardless of personal interaction he is owed money or books. At this point it’s best to give him the money because there can be no further dispute with the returned money. If the books are shipped at this point you are both tied to one another in the hopes that the recipient is satisfied on the grade of the books and they arrive in tact. Since further dealings could be a recipe for disaster, just pay him and both of you walk away.
  7. Seriously, just give him back his money and move on never dealing with one another again.
  8. Okay @Polonsky, you kind of changed the terms of the deal. Traditionally there has been a 30 day grace period to get the books out. Having once been in the middle of a transaction and having an injury I can kind of understand why he initially did not get things rolling. However, @Top City Comics, give him his money back. Also if you are trying hard to scrape together $20k then maybe it's best to hand it back to CLink and ask them to immediately sell it. It would be easier to scrape together the difference than the $20k. This also allows you to pay back @Polonsky At this point, also both of you, should either hug it out or agree never to do business again. So long as Polonsky gets his money back, I agree with the others, I don't see this on the PL. Give him his money.
  9. You are supposed to use the new, "Summon Buzzetta" card that was made in CG.
  10. Can you add that further use of the word, "Bro" or "Bruh" is no longer permitted... like... ever... not here... not in CG.... not even in moderns... especially not in moderns.
  11. I am off for a couple of days... if someone wants me to write something up, I actually have the time this week.
  12. It says "but".... Cal's vision is fading and soon he won't be able to tell the difference between a 9.8 and a trimmed 2.5 with moderate color touch and a married cover. Just like Cal Riplen, eventually every Cal finds themselves on the bench...
  13. Went digging for the remaining Marvel Series 1 cards I had... found them in a plastic snap case. I am pretty sure there are a few others somewhere... More importantly was what was mixed in thankfully nice and crisp... 3 x Score Pinnacle Jeter Rookies. That was like stumbling into a few hundred after seeing what they go for on eBay graded at 8's or higher. I have to make some decisions this year... Part of me would not mind leaving early, selling it all and putting it toward property.
  14. At the urging of @jsilverjanet, I nominate Longcat Longcat has been a spiritual member of these boards and has gone unrecognized for far too long. Living in his long house, in his long, yard, he makes a point to bring joy, happiness and good fortune to those he encounters. There was that time that Longcat saved those children trapped on the 37th floor of a burning building. Longcat where ladders could not. Longcat was the one who helped out the Neely comic scam and Red Rocks when Longcat went undercover as Shortcat. Did Longcat turn his back on the boards? No! Now is not the time to turn your back on Longcat. When things got too intense in the Water Cooler and cooler heads were needed, it was Longcat that sat them all down in the Rona Virus thread and set them straight. When I was looking for a page of art and was just about to give up, it was Longcat that walked beside me and guided me to the right website. Ask not what Longcat can do for you, for he already does it all. Ask what you can do for Longcat. In this case, it is to vote him into the CGC HOF... Cal vs Longcat? There is no question. Vote Long. Vote the Long Cat.
  15. Well, as expected, prices on Cara Dune figures popped as Hasbro sent BBTS a notification that preorders would not be fulfilled.
  16. I have a better idea @Mmehdy Once a year the forum should have a vote to allow a previous member who has been banned to come back. Just one. Here is a sample list: @Rzzzz @Dead Ringer @Wanted DOA @Suggested @Funk #48 @WinnerWinner @Hello Boils and Ghouls @Fistula @AndrewGreen @37? @Stu Dolgon @Stu Frothingham @Stu Morrison @Stu Somers @Stu Taylor @Stu-Man @stu62 @STUART1234 @Stuart Good @Icandothisallday
  17. I was but a child when this column was written... a child.
  18. I absolutely agree. There is also the branding issue. When one mentions "CGC" or really at the point "CCG" the thought process steers toward comic books. As I mentioned with the Jordan card, I have thought of sending it into be put in a different company's holder. At this point I would not think of putting it in a CGC holder. CGC is known for comics... a sports card belongs in a holder from a company that specializes in grading sports cards.
  19. I am the seventh baron twice removed of AF15! I am the Royal Viscount of Lego Anyone else? @greggy?
  20. I would figure that CGC has a goal of making a dent in the market share within a year to a year and a half.
