  1. Basement train layout about to get an extension to the town. Sunday morning build time while watching a Keith Morrison “Dateline”
  2. I just signed up for a free year of Apple +... We will see how it goes and then I make a decision whether or not to keep it for $5 a month starting next November 13th.
  3. I have a lot going on lately. Either you or my advocate, @jaybuck43 may field my interests in my absence in the next couple of weeks.
  4. He played one of the X-Wing pilots. He actually appeared as the same X-Wing pilot last year which makes me now wonder if he plans on being the, "Wedge" of the series by appearing as a pilot at least once every season.
  5. Crotch of the Spider-man costume would have been best as there would have been a circle of signatures surrounding the goblin's face.
  6. I made a mistake. I meant to 'disable bids' but as I was swiping, my arm jerked as I was not being careful and I placed the final bid that won... not a terrible purchase... but I paid more than I wanted to. I paid today and it is on it's way. Sorry for those looking at GPA... I think I just accidentally raised the bar. Action Comics 52 - Another boardie said that on a resubmit that it might get a conserved label but I don't think that it financially sound to pour more money into it. However, I have to say, it really is a nice looking 3.5. As far as Shadowman 1 - I like the book and have not owned a copy. Bought it for $69 with the BP which is almost half of what I sold my old 9.8 for when there was some valiant hype. woohoo...
  7. Last night, I sent an email to Andy Kaufman and Tupac. They responded this morning and let me know that Ditko is NOT in the 'club', and is in fact deceased.
  8. Maybe, every time one of us gets a strike or points on flimsy reasoning that we should submit a book to an alternative company, scan the invoice and post it, tagging cgcmod1 in the post while printing out the strike notification and sending that along with the invoice to the big guys in Florida. but hey, that’s just me
  9. Better? As least you know of my intent here. If Amazon and Apple are taken out of the equation, then who picks up the rights to these characters with the ability to properly steer the ship? I don't really see anyone else out there and I don't really see Disney doing it at this point.
  10. @Bosco685 Seriously? Then unquote me and I will rephrase.
  11. My biggest fear is that these characters will slip into a bankruptcy or even worse, into the 'wrong' hands. This past October Apple, Facebook, Amazon, and Google were found to be "anticompetitive". There is a possibility that these companies will be forced to restructure and/or break off part of their holdings. So if DC becomes available it not only becomes a question of who can afford the property, but who wants to flaunt buying more intellectual property and entering a field after being found to be 'anticompetitive'. If I am Amazon and I am officially labeled as "anticompetitive", am I buying Superman and entering that playing field? Tech is going to want to keep a lower profile than that. Does Disney buy up DC? They already had a high profile anti trust case last year when it came to the Fox merger. Maybe Disney throws the dice to see if they can land it... maybe they do not. Does the price go down so another company can afford to buy it? Do we want to see that happen? It takes a company with a lot of resources to successfully manage a brand like Superman. I don't think Valiant Comics can handle the character. I also don't see Darden Restaurants navigating the comic character field. Do I really want to see Batman purchased by a company not suited for entertainment, like Anheuser Busch ? Do I want to see Superman on a can of Bud Lite?
  12. If the Amazon inquiry does not result in an Amazon Breakup I could easily see Amazon picking up DC.
  13. I thought about it.... maybe I will regret it... I tossed and turned... but I am passing. My reasons? I don't know if it is 'iconic' The BMF Falcon, the BMF AT-AT and if I ever open the sail barge... those are iconic. Is the Razor Crest iconic that people know that is if they see it? Dunno... can't have it all... and I want to be picky these days. There are a lot of things I would like to see made, and I don't want to say, I did not have the space.
  14. Found it searching for "Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge" retelling Marvel 75th Anniversary Collection ( "Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge" published in October 2014 by Bendis https://brianmichaelbendis.tumblr.com/post/142615761789/coolpages-marvel-75th-anniversary
  15. I always add hos/PL and no problem children. I’ve got one person on ignore here and they know who they are. Now I say this because they know they are on ignore. If they were to be that obnoxious as to take it in a sales thread, I would publicly cite the no problem children listing. However there are boardies that ignore someone else without telling the person. In that case if by chance the problem child took something in a thread, I would politely send a pm just saying that I would prefer not to conduct business with them.
  16. Call them up and ask - they are quite helpful and will answer that
  17. I was just in the middle of writing the same after you 'reacted' to it. I am guessing? hoping? that when they are planning out an eight episode story for a season that they arrived at a wall as they fit the entire storyline that they wanted to tell into six or seven episodes. They needed to make certain episodes within the arc a "chapter" with a beginning and an end. I've noticed that we don't really get much in the way of a 'two part' episode in this series. So when you write those seven out of the eight and are left with that one episode that is not really going to fit... then you need something stand alone. I do not feel as if anything in this episode pushed the narrative in a way or developed his character in a way that could not have been managed by some fleeting dialogue in another episode. I was disappointed in the scenes where Dave Filoni's character showed up (Phrased this way so there are no spoilers) as that seemed to be an anticipated part of Season II, but was kind of a letdown. Favreau wrote it and Peyton Reed directed it. Frankly, they all cannot be hits and I understand that, but I kind of expect more from a team like that, than an episode that felt like a mission in a video game.
  18. Got up at 6 to watch it. Felt the same.
  19. After seeing what you did with the New Mutants 98, will you be cutting the book directly in half to slip both sides of the plastic off of it?
