  1. Good eye... yes actually... When I bought the house, certain pieces of furniture came with it. A few things were taken like certain cabinets... my mom has one in her house now and my Aunt has another. My Aunt took the bedroom set. However I kept the dining room table (to be replaced this year) and I have show pictures of the China giant wall sized china cabinet that now houses vintage toys from the early 1900's to current in my journal. Things like the couch had to go as it looked like the couch you would see in the waiting room of a funeral parlor and it was much too small anyway. Other things had to go as well... Before anyone knew anything about the house though... before anyone knew anything about who could get what I demanded one thing... I wanted that chair as that was the chair that she sat in when we would get together and watch Yankee games, Jeopardy or sometimes have lunch or a snack that I would bring over. I got that chair. Some other people wanted it but my mom and aunt realized that I should get the chair. She loved the growing Lego city that I had in the basement and sometimes she would go down there to look it over. (Another reason I wanted the house was because I was already storing a lot of stuff here lol) When I redid the living room and replaced all the older furniture with country type stuff, I needed a new place for the chair. It did not really fit and I also did not want anyone sitting in it and breaking it. The chair is currently parked in the corner of the basement facing the growing Lego city. I pulled it away from the wall and turned it around to take a picture.
  2. That's awesome actually. The creative talent behind these films are beyond impressive. I really am looking forward to watching this later.
  3. Not really... been bogged down with work. In the early stages of this I recognized that there would be artificially created shortages and started stocking up. The idea was that I could either stand against the hurricane or I could shelter in. I was very busy stocking things up so did not have to be in the stores. This was a good thing as I was definitely exposed to this at work. Since I’ve been home and have been working all day, I listed more things on eBay, Facebook and other forums and been trying to make the most of my time. On the little off time I’ve had, I’ve been doing some household projects like cleaning things out. I don’t watch a lot of TV and movies as it is. I only have one TV in the house, two if you count the one in the basement that goes on once in awhile as I am doing something with LEGO. Caught up on Clone Wars, This is Us, Chicago PD, Fire and Law and Order... Only movies I’ve seen is Hobbes and Shaw and I’m almost done with Manchester by the Sea. i just found out that this was placed on Disney+ though. oh there has been a LOT of concerts played in the house. My music collection is vast.
  4. Ha - I will keep this going at least throughout Saturday... then I might nominate a couple of people to do their own. Fair question and one that I did not actually consider would be asked. It is a mix of things. Some was originally another family member's. Some still is another family members. At one point they were giving it away and one family member was simply storing it in their attic. That was kind of ridiculous to me. I originally offered to consign it for the relative and all they had to do was take care of the fees. Now it has come to my operating a couple of eBay handles depending on who gets what. What is more interesting is that I can honestly say that I am single handedly changing the collecting market for the collectors of those pieces. Every collecting base has its own mindset. For example when it comes to comics, if we replace the staples on a comic we consider it restored. If you replace the tires on a car it is not considered as invasive since they have to be replaced. When it comes to the collecting market for that jewelry they believe that once the design is discounted to move the remainder of the stock that the reduced price is the new established 'value'. With comics we understand that once something is no longer in production that if there is a resurgence in demand for that item down the road that a premium will be added. So... I will get messages from that collecting base telling me, "That the piece was clearanced out a year ago at $X... why are you charging $Y for it? That's not fair." Well, if I am the only one that seems to be offering that piece and there is a demand for it, they will pay the premium. They should have bought it for $50 when they had the opportunity. As time moves on eventually I get what I am looking for. Another board member taught me early on that eventually everything sells and if you have a day job that pays the bills that it does not matter when the other stuff actually sells...
  5. I did not say of YOU... But of the confused emoji man running around... Your face would be nowhere near it. Or if they replaced all the old Greggy face photoshops with the confused emoji face like when you swapped a lego face in for my face which was actually really funny also.
  6. Presents very well though. I picked this up from Gator at the show.
  7. there should be an evolutionary time line included in the history of the boards.
  8. I sneak on by. I am usually hoodie, jeans, non comic t shirt and a Yankee hat.
  9. Actually Follow Up response... this is the book I truly feel was shortchanged... I picked this up in 2010 I believe at NYCC. As @PeteFromPetesBasement said when he saw it in person... (Pete rarely stops by) "Why is that not a 4.0? Whose blank would you have had to blank to get a 4.0?"
  10. A group of friends and I last went to a Sunday football thing there. It was a decent enough deal to get us back into the city since between most of my friends and I, we already have LIRR train passes or get to ride for free.
  11. maybe... I think it hits a 2.0... maaaaybe... I am more scared it goes to a 1.5... The spine probably hammered it. I know there is pencil writing on the inside title page of one of the backup stories... I think it was 50+50 = 100 if I remember correctly.
  12. Never been to Strip House... will throw that on the list. Ever go to Fortunato's on Manhattan and Devoe in Williamsburg? BTW @jaybuck43 Good old school italian in Williamsburg is Bamonte's Better old school Italian in Williamsburg is Frost Street.
  13. Can we get an image of this guy running through caves like we had with the one of Roy all those years ago? It would be a fun update.
  14. Stole it from Seacrest. That guy can give up a job or two.
  15. It's known I have three copies. Probably this one is the most meaningful. This is the one I scrimped and saved to get and bought as I was in college. I might have been 19 when I bought this. Now... the story behind it is that I purchased it raw from this guy who was setting up tables at the old Rockville Centre Holiday Inn shows on Long Island. Back then people were passing restored books off left and right as the real thing. I had no idea what any of that was until the guy that sold it to me wanted to point out that it was untouched and no one had used any marker on it or anything. I did not know what that meant but I was listening. What I was most impressed with was that this guy didn't treat me as a kid and treated me as a serious buyer. Other vendors did not. So I bought this from him. The guy who I bought this from? Vincent Zurzolo before there was a Metropolis Comics. Currently sitting in a 1.8... I never had it pressed. This is my keeper AF15 not because it was the lowest grade of the three but because this one I really worked for.
  16. Mary Anne... I think the whole cast agreed that Ginger was full of herself.
  17. Dessert - Roccos of the West Village? I love that place... that was and still sometimes is my go to spot after a night of wings at Down the Hatch or Off the Wagon. However, nothing says sit down date night like Ferraras. Whiskey... currently Glenlivet and Macallan... I am not too particular there... I have a bottle of each buried in the back cabinet. Wine... right now there are about 25 different bottles of wine around the house at all times... in various places around the kitchen... utilizing the cabinet, a wine rack on a center preparation table and the wine rack near the kitchen outside-affiliatelinksnotallowed Not going crazy with the whine... I don't believe you have to spend crazy amounts and can find decent wines in the $15-$20 range. I have a lot of different things but never got into the wine thing as seriously as a couple of others... Cut of steak... depends on what you are doing with the steak. Skirt steak is a favorite recently... seem to be buying a lot of that. It marinates and cooks well and cuts well if you are using the steak for other dishes.
  18. that's between Joey and his daughter and also depends on his daughter's age. I am not one to tell a parent how to parent a daughter. The world is lucky I do not have one of my own. I would probably throw someone into a wall for looking at her sideways if I did. As it is, I once put it out there that if push came to shove for my gf's daughter that I would have no problem getting involved since her dad is in Florida. That unfortunately was turned down. Maybe for the best.
  19. Halloween 2019 was a letdown and at the last minute we did not go to the Halloween Party I thought we were going to go as... I already have the costume ready for this year. Revisiting something.. I am going as Forrest Gump when he is running across America. Red short, yellow polo shirt, gandolf beard, bubba gump hat, nike cortez sneakers with the red swoosh, and knee high running socks.
  20. I swear to God it wasn't me. However I have had no problem going through food markets and trying what the locals try. I believe you learn about culture through food so in my severely limited travels I have gone off the beaten path to go sample the food in the local food markets. We are spoiled in NYC though because it seems that there is an authentic restaurant of every nationality that actually rates and reviews as authentic. I like giving anything a try.
  21. Keep them coming. I am entertained... so long as this does not turn into a kav v Hollywood who can be more ridiculous show. Because if they keep it up trying to just amuse themselves I will take a backseat and let Hollywood make it his thread.
  22. Cool.... real question... Right now? Jersey as I would still have to go to work... When I retire... if it is just me making the decision... somewhere cooler and somewhere with reduced taxes... Delaware ? Pennsylvania ? If it is two people making the decision... I am not stupid. I know how it works. Wherever she says we are going.
  23. Never tried... The next time I go out (two months from now) I will pick one up and let you know.
