  1. Whoa, I just read through jercol62 account... aaaaaaand blocked.
  2. Received the eBay credit on the fees after we went though the process. I relisted it and sold it for $135 + shipping to someone else within a day of listing it. Aaron wrote me a few days later apologizing to say he could not pay for it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  3. My parents live a third of a mile away. They have keys and come and go during the day when I am at work. During normal times, they actually go to the post office for me and drop off packages. They are retired and it's a trip for them. House needs something done or needs to be babysat... they are here. If there is ever a home intruder, that intruder will wind up hurt, maimed, or dead. I am not kidding.
  4. I won today's annual Easter Egg hunt at my house. I am the only person that lives here but that isn't really that important.
  5. Anyone ever inquire about contracting him to build one of his infamous 400sqft fire pits?
  6. If people put on their big boy pants and could be rational and reasonable I would agree with you. However we live in a day and age where if I say, "It's an 8.0" and someone submits it and it comes back a 7.5 people want their money back and a partial refund. I think it is best to assign the generic system of Fa, G, VG, F, VF, NM to a book with +/- if you want, front and back scans and a disclosure of perception of page color. But I also disagree with partial refunds. Either you want the book or you don't. When I got back into comics, I faced the above situation. I bought a copy of ASM 23 and was told it would be a 8.0 from Metropolis. It came back a 7.5. I shrugged and said +/-5 is the way it goes I guess. When I resubmitted a book to be CPR'd the page quality changed. I am pretty sure that the PQ did not improve due to a press. Grading is subjective and I know you know that but there are many that don't and look to take advantage of it. If people are going to assign a grade I would always recommend putting a range in there... an HONEST range. 9.2-9.4 is not horrible and gives some wiggle room. People forget that a NM comic book is a 9.4 according to CGC. It is not a 9.8 but it seems everyone expects their books to be 9.8's.
  7. My current story with China once again solidifies my stand on Global Shipping. If I am reading this right either the buyer OR China itself has denied shipment to Beijing. I wrote eBay and they say I am covered. My buyer claims that he did not receive the item. I wrote eBay and they said to give it time. Now I notice a week later that the buyer OR China cancelled or denied shipment. As soon as I saw that, I wrote eBay and this is the response I received. If you are NOT using Global Shipping you open yourself up to situations like this. Use Global Shipping.
  8. So I forget who asked but I did cook the pork loin for Easter Sunday. Soaked it in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, old bay, touch of cumin, touch of brown sugar, and garlic powder. Seared in olive oil and then baked it. My lord... delicious. A couple of those around here that are friends with me on FB or IG saw the other 'thing' I did .
  9. Hanks is probably the only one that could pull off being the “host” Drake song was spot on but a bit long Zoom was too o; point Larry David !!!!!
  10. No but I will turn that on now then. I thought they were done and it was nothing but repeats. I am setting up an Easter Prank
  11. I just read that over on Voldy's boards. As soon as I read the OP post one thing instantly came to mind. Back in the 90's when Toys were the next big thing to comics toy scalpers were everywhere. They were looking for the 'girl' figures, the Treasure Hunts from Hot Wheels and the chase figures. What these guys would do is get up at the crack of dawn to go to Walmart or Target or Toys R Us and buy anything that they thought had even the remote chance of being valuable. They would then list it on AOL, Prodigy, and take the inventory to Comic and Toy shows. Whatever did not sell they would try to return to Toys R Us with their receipts or get back Geoffrey Bucks. (Remember those?). Eventually Toys R Us had enough of this routine and posted signs that they would no longer accept returns for collectible action figures. The situation got so bad that the sign was posted in every TRU in the area. That must have been a corporate decision. This guy reminded me of the toy buyers from the 1990's for some reason.
  12. Kav is right. In this case the buyer that was using new names and new accounts to circumvent being blocked. The only reason he did this was not to buy anything but to disrupt listings because he did not get his way. At that point I have to decide if I lose more selling opportunity by blocking Greece or if I lose more selling opportunity by allowing my listings to be disrupted. I found it better to cut off Greece. Now will I take the block off? One day. But not for at least a year.
  13. Get someone to take pictures of his loved ones. Upload images to imageflip Make memes with pictures of loved ones that say, “Do you think they want you to pursue this?” Send memes screen cap response post here for us to see can I go back to bed now ?
  14. There have been so many epic threads during my tenure here and before that picking one single one is like picking which is your favorite child. This thread had a recap over the years from some of the favorite hits... Anything where Cal appears is always fun. CAK and the saga of the 40ft fire pit, Sadfan is Sad, and the Wheels are in Motion automatically come to mind. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/456313-inside-jokes-only-the-comics-section-of-the-cgc-boards-would-get
  15. I am going to lose my lego badge for this. I have not been watching. I really wasn't kidding when I said I don't watch much television. I might start that up today then.
  16. Yup... same thing... My parents ordered thermometers and thought they were coming from within the state. They eventually arrived but took a bit longer as they were really shipped from China.
  17. Were sales suspended either to or from China? I have a package held up and have not been able to get a straight answer as to which side is holding it up. Specifically Beijing Thanks in advance.
  18. Slim pickings in the next CLink auction. I wonder how many buyers told Clink to pull their books? Usually there are almost 15-20 pages of listings for original art. This month there are 6. The sessions were divided into two as well with the first containing 4 pages of listings and the other session containing 2 pages of listings. Very strong chance CLink held back this session or their consigners asked them to.
  19. I have enough pure rage this week. My coworkers apparently developed internet balls and seem to be raging against the boss. A coworker took a screen shot of her cel phone and showed some of us that she told one of the bosses that she will no longer be taking daily attendance through google forms as she does not feel like sharing personal information about herself to them. Every day included with the here or not here... it's please state a personal goal of yours, a professional goal...
  20. I knew something was up when I called Fed Ex today and I swear, the guy was outside on his cell phone. I am guessing a lot of CSR centers are using a call forwarding service and their CSRs are also working from home. eBay CSR is based in the Philippines. Anyone know where FedEd CSR is based?
  21. It's funny... now that I have been home, I really have the chance to study and stare and look around the house at what I like and don't like about the place. For example, I fixed something around the house that I keep putting off.
  22. Considering you do not go outside, would it not be best for society to make that assessment?
  23. Favorite ones are the ones that hurt. I will recover. Least favorite are the ones that break. I have to replace the piece. The worst was when I stepped on a rare out of production piece that was out of production. It cost me about $8 shipped to find and replace it. It fell of the set as I was packing it away. Yes if a piece is lost or broken I will replace it. I had a rare Lego Batmobile that was missing a gun from the minifigure. I spent $6 shipped to get the piece. (I ordered some other parts but I would not have had I not bought that piece for $1 and paid $5 shipping. Recently I sold the set for record high I believe for a loose model. It was worth it.
  24. I am done for the day. Let's end the week with a nice tall glass of blueberry lemonade and Jose Cuervo. People can ask questions if they want... I will "be me" and give answers as I work on a surprise for the gf, my mom, and futz around on eBay.
