  1. This name seems to be heating up. This was just brought to my attention for the second time today. Anyone else hear about this? Supposedly it was going to be posted on the CGC Boards but I have not seen it. Amanda seems to have also changed their name. When I tried to figure it out I was led to "comics_and_pops" If that is not correct let me know and I will delete it. As of now the new eBay name has over 100 followers and this person seems to only BUY comics.
  2. I am exhausted after the last 48hrs... Bocelli at MSG and now this movie and work with only a few hours of sleep... so I am going to make this short. I liked Rise of Skywalker. However, I take personal delight in knowing that if a few specific people 'like' Rise of Skywalker, then they are going to have a lot of explaining to do in light of their complaints with Last Jedi.
  3. I am off to go grab a quick dinner and then off to a 6:15 showing. Will talk later.
  4. Filoni was groomed to take over the franchise.
  5. I rewatched everything and I agree with this. I also throw in there that he was a man who had lost his faith and needed to find it again... especially when it comes to the religious tone of the Jedi. The more I watched the whole sha-bang from the beginning to the end, the more I realized that RJ picked up one things like what you mentioned from watching the other movies as well. I don't think TFA is a bad Star Wars movie. I think it is weak.
  6. When it comes to toys, I always at listings where things say it is 'complete' yet when you read the description it is missing something essential like the guns that a transformer comes with.
  7. I think you right about part of that. I assume you are talking about when Harrelson hands him the blaster and we know how Han gets his signature gun. Things like that were unnecessary. I think learning how he meets Chewbacca was a good inclusion. My question to you is this... would it have been better to have the Jabba mission where he dumps the spice as the focal point of the movie? Would it have been better to not even hint at Jabba to make the idea of a younger solo more palatable so the imagination would have allowed him to age into Harrison Ford? I will see what you write but respond later or tomorrow. Star Wars tomorrow... tonight Bocelli.
  8. I can agree with that. I don't 'hate' TFA either, it's just weak. I will take TFA over many other movies. It's just one of the weakest SW movies to me. It's like Godfather III. Godfather III is not a terrible movie. It's just nowhere near as good as Godfather I and II.
  9. Try to give Solo another chance and watch Rogue One, Ep4 and then ESB and Solo actually gets better. I promise you that. Donald Glover is to Billy Dee's Lando as Ewan McGregor was to Alec Guiness' Obi Wan. Glover is spot on. If anything Solo made ESB even better because it gives you more of a back story when Han actually decides to go to Cloud City. It made me realize the following: It has been well over a decade since Han has seen Lando Lando sells out Han so easily since they had never been as tight at one point as we were led to believe in ESB It makes a lot more sense when Han tells Chewbacca to keep his eyes open as Lando comes to greet him. Lot of little things that I don't want to ruin but may give you some AHA moments. You can't just watch Solo though. Watch Solo and then ESB soon after.
  10. No I didn't actually... that's cool. At the end of Rebels they say that Syndulla went on to fight at the battle of Endor and flew beyond that. She was also helping the Rebels in the months leading up to Episode 4 long before Rogue One came out. So it made sense for the ship to be there. I am hoping that this gives them a nudge to produce the further adventures of her or continue the search for Ezra in the future. I just did a google search and there are Rebels Easter Eggs supposedly in the film in terms of the force. Maybe we get a live action Ezra movie which could be interesting.
  11. Loved me some Last Jedi - praying to f'n god that JJ actually came up with a -script of his own rather than try and copy what has already been done again. Seems that all JJ knows how to do is copy what others have done when he walks into a franchise.
  12. Many people actually liked TLJ and disliked TFA and do not see it as 'damage'. I actually see what JJ did as 'damage' I don't think Disney cares what the fans think one way or another. So many people said that they were going to boycott all things Disney Star Wars in butthurt fantasy camp protest. (I flip through twitter once in awhile). Yet, the Mandalorian is the talk of the town. People are eating baby yoda up with a spoon. Nah... as I rewatch, I see more and more that Johnson did his SW homework, while JJ produced a greatest hits album. With the way that Lucas presented the Jedi Order in Episodes 1-3 it is a natural progression for Luke to lose faith and retreat believing that the old ways need to be completely destroyed.
  13. I did some digging on the way home. He liked TLJ but disliked the FA. He was also (allegedly) critical of them bringing back the Emperor.
  14. Nah... Vader may have the Mufasa / Terrence Mann voice but I am talking about the dialogue itself.
  15. 1-6 - tighter than anyone realized - lot of people are rewatching like we are and finding convenient coincidences and/or solid storytelling
  16. That’s my collecting goal to eventually find one. The unbroken thumb eludes me.
  17. Not feeling well... got up and see that mandalorian episode 7 is on. This show has just become incredible... this is the episode that brings it all together. Wait and see.

  19. So some random thoughts... This week I am doing a complete rewatch in the following order and a few highlights from Clone Wars and Rebels (which I had previously seen): Episodes 1, 2, 3, Solo, Rogue One, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 I just finished Empire and have some random thoughts. Empire is still the best I have seen. Rogue One is incredibly well done and gets better with each viewing. Solo was better once I saw it shortly before ESB. Solo is basically a prequel to ESB Donald Glover really did capture Billy Dee in the way that Ewan captured Alec Solo AND Rogue One are actually researched and written way better than I originally gave them credit for especially on Solo. The Asteroid Belt score is one of the best in the series as is the music used for scenes such as Cloud City I really do like every change (update) made in ESB. Everything from a larger Cloud City to Vader's ship at the end, All Fetts sound the same, to the Emperor being the Emperor instead of Monkey Face is an improvement and eases the flow of the saga. Anakin talks like drama queen in the prequels... however, Vader talks like an drama queen as well. Anakin: "I'm haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me." Vader: "Today will be a day long remembered. It has seen the death of Kenobi, and will soon see the end of the Rebellion." Someone has a flair for the dramatic no matter what mask they have on. The side quests like Solo and the Mandalorian have really done their research in making sure they 'fit' or at least trying to. The Mandalorian explains what 'no disintegrations' really means. We don't give Lucas enough credit for the prequels. Jar Jar aside, he tried something new while still filling in a back story that fits in with what was already done. I think JJ screwed up with Episode 7 but I can see after watching the whole thing why he would bring back Palpatine. The saga really is a Palpatine story and the skywalkers that have been manipulated or opposed him. Sith also gets better with age as far as the story goes. More thoughts later.
  20. That’s fair... I’m comfortable with what I do though. What works for some may not be other’s cup of tea as the saying goes. If something floats around on eBay for a couple of years it doesn’t bother me. Eventually though everything sells. I don’t respond to the following though on any item though. what’s the lowest you will go? (If it’s been a “fun” day at work I will reply with what is the highest you will go?) will you accept trades? Lowball offers I flat out reject. Reasonable offers I will accept and if we we are in the ballpark I will counter. If I counter and say that is the best I will do it’s a take or leave it thing.
  21. Sell more stuff I will eventually get myself a copy of Superman 14... But... Getting quotes on a bathroom... hoping to see this done in February... maybe do another room renovation in 2020
