  1. If it is strong for the grade then 10%- 15% above GPA. You can always negotiate downward, not upward.
  2. Not really because that turns into a $500 + slabbing fees and shipping vanity project. I’m not spending that on a commission unless it’s a piece of work I wanted for myself. I would say with commissioned pieces that the higher resale value is always attributed to the more desirable of a commission. For example I have a few Larry Hama sketches. Let’s say I decide to sell off a sketch of Snakes Eyes and another one of Clutch. Which is going to go for more ? Will it be more or less than what Hama charged? Remember that many Stan Lee signatures on books used to go for less than the cost of having Stan sign and getting it graded.
  3. I believe that Seanfingh's incident demonstrates that creators do indeed monitor the going rate for signatures. Skottie Young last year had a drastic upcharge for books that were to be witnessed by a grading company. It was something like $100 dollars for unwitnessed sketch and $500 for a witnessed.
  4. I’ve done sales to Hong Kong, not for comics, but for jewelry. That is another reason I’ve used the Global Shipping System only. On a side note there must be a reason that eBay’s new managed payment system which I have NOT enrolled in is not supported with the global shipping program.
  5. Take out the Ric Flair nonsense out of what I wrote and you can get an idea... Just delete all the stuff I wrote in caps. He was the one that made mention of mowing lawns, and wives and spanking kids. I would post the screen cap but that would get me in trouble since someone / mods deleted it. However, I did take a screen shot of it for posterity. It was a good one.
  6. I know but I feel it’s worth it to invest in that sturdier missile rack. I would be the guy to adjust the vintage one and sneeze and break it.
  7. Hm... strange thing is that I have the White Out figure but never bought the Wolf Hound and don't recall how I got it. I bought a modern FSS Blizzard to do some parts swapping combined with a vintage rubber helmet to make a better modern Blizzard. I think I need to get that. I see that they have sold for $50 recently but I am not paying the $80 people seem to want for it right now.
  8. I don't know if I should be thankful for the gesture or quit the boards. Because I just had a vision of you sitting on my dresser like an Elf on a Shelf screaming at me to get up in the morning.
  9. Yeah... I just double checked... I think the tabs on the Wolf Hound were made thicker compared to the original. They can rename that thing anything they want. It will always be the Snow Cat.
  10. I am in and will try to keep up this year... I always get ridiculously busy this time of year and forget to submit grades.
  11. I sold off my 25th Rattler after watching a review of it while it was in transit. You think they would have tweaked the mold a bit. Moray looks nice just sitting there on the shelf... I am okay with that for now. Snow Cat... I feel your pain on that. When I see a modern version with the updated tabs at a cheap price I may pick one up... it's on the to do list and the only reason I am keeping my FSS Frostbite.
  12. Mailcall! NYCC pass Custom LEGO Lebowski Thor and Korg
  13. Nothing more amusing than someone that buys but doesn’t pay and gets blocked only to wonder why they are blocked on another account from buying... they didn’t know I run two selling accounts
  14. So this was my "happy purchase" from Sunday's Heritage auctions... During college I used to work for Disney specifically working with animation sales at the Disney stores. They had recognized that I had a knack for getting people to buy things that they should not be spending money on. It was purely based on a love of the art form and all things comics and sci-fi. Prior to working at Disney my family had taken a vacation down to Florida to go to Disney several times over the years. At the time, MGM Studios, now known as Hollywood Studios, was my favorite. When you went to tour the Florida Animation Department, guests were first treated to a cartoon explaining the animation process. In that video, famed newsman, Walter Cronkite, (the other 'Uncle Walt') picked someone out of the crowd to showcase the Disney animation process. The person he picked out of the crowd was none other then Robin Williams. This was produced years before Aladdin. During the short movie / cartoon, Robin is turned into an animated character as one of Peter Pan's Lost Boys, where he finds himself in a series of misadventures up against Captain Hook. Robin may play a tourist but that tourist is Robin Williams. "Oooooohh Tinkerbell, look at her she is so bright. It's like being in the presence of Barbara Streisand." Robin's riffs are funny even for a theme park cartoon. This is one of the production cels from that Disney Theme Park short. I loved Robin's work. He always made me smile. Whenever I want to plunge down a YouTube rabbit hole, I like to watch late night talk shows featuring Robin Williams or Don Rickles or Chappelle. A production cel from this cartoon came up in the June Heritage Event auction. I was one of the underbidders and that cel realized a price of $660 after the buyer's premium. When I saw this listed in a Sunday auction on Labor Day, I figured I would make a play and hope that everyone else who bid in June was asleep at the wheel. I took this home for $140 (168 with the buyer's premium.) I could not be more pleased to bring this piece of Disney history home. It brings back fond memories of family vacations, my time working with Disney collectables, and my love of animation. Click Here for the Original Listing on Heritage From the listing:
  15. When I bought the Moray off eBay I wanted to kill the seller. He packed it well but got lazy on one thing. He left all four yellow missiles in the hood chamber. All four hood missiles somehow got stuck halfway in that chamber since they moved around during transit. This meant that the hood piece was essentially locked. That was a PITA to deal with believe it or not. I was very afraid to break any of the plastic as I had to jostle things loose and then go fishing for those parts within the hull.
  16. From experience I am going to say something that is completely unholy, completely absurd, completely insane to some of you. To some, a small amount of color touch is more desirable than a blue label book that looks like it was scraped, chipped or bug chewed.
  17. This could be one of the greatest custom quotes on the board... even more fun when put through Ric Flair's mouth... @greggy @jaybuck43 BIG MAAAAAAN!!!! The Naich-ya Boy has one question for you! Who are all these losers posting in my sales thread? WOOOO !!! Who do I have to talk to about moderation here? I am focused on business and STYLIN and PROFILIN and LIMOUSINE RIDING, WHEELIN and DEALIN and KISS STEALIN !! I have completed many transactions with various members this calendar year with some fairly large books and I am not appreciative of comments that detract from my WOOO!!! objective. Go bang your wife or mow your lawn or spank your bratty kid... and then and ONLY THEN.... can you step up to ride SPACE MOUNTAIN !!! Oldest ride in park!!! Longest Line WOOOOO!!!

  19. The scraping thing is really atrocious in my opinion. It's like trimming as far as I am concerned.
  20. Or if you want for now... repro lens for $4. That's what I did... Then i stocked that bad boy with modern Lampreys...
  21. I try not to talk about books I am buying up until I am finished buying them up. sorry
