  1. I just messaged them: "That's Blazing Combat Anthology 1 NOT Blazing Combat 1. Anthology in even better condition is selling for about $50-60... so forget about the price... you guys don't even have the right book listed. "
  2. So for example... One of things I won last night was this cel from the Disney Cartoon on how Disney creates animation starring Walter Cronkite and Robin Williams. I took that home last night for $168 https://comics.ha.com/itm/animation-art/the-magic-of-disney-animation-back-to-neverland-production-cel-walt-disney-1989-/a/121935-11285.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515 Back in June, another cel from that sequence in the cartoon went for $660. The background that they included with sale is a not authentic and was created for presentation purposes for the production cel. https://comics.ha.com/itm/animation-art/back-to-never-land-robin-williams-as-a-lost-boy-production-color-model-cel-with-painted-background-walt-disney-1989-/a/7207-97408.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515 Both production cels feature Robin Williams as a Lost Boy with a full body facing the viewer. The one in June features him waving goodbye while the one I picked up last night features Robin looking impish. Cels from this cartoon do not come up very often. $660 in June vs $168 in August... that mock up - non-production background is not worth a $500 increase. I am thinking that a few interested bidders were not around last night. I picked up a comic book for around $275 that people are trading for a bit more than double that on eBay which seems to be at a three year low for the book in grade. I will stash that for about a year because I have faith in the book and the characters. Again, I felt that someone was sleeping. No one bid against me once the live auction started.
  3. There were a couple of steals last night. One thing I picked up for me which I showed in the this week in your collection thread. The other thing I picked up for eBay. I thought that no one was paying attention to s few things due to Labor Day.
  4. Just signed up now. $140 + tax for three years was pretty cheap...
  5. That's why I am still healthy? No dirty water dogs, but I am never above a good Taco Truck... Whenever I am in Woodside and have to take the LIRR from there I have no problem running downstairs to grab something off the Roosevelt Avenue Taco Truck
  6. Made tacos with the leftovers... amazing.
  7. So it seems that no one really bidding on stuff this weekend...
  8. It IS from Disney but not from a show... More... in my journal... which is pretty tame in comparison to some... apparently...
  9. I won something that put a real smile on my face... for about 1/4th of what the last guy paid. See if anyone knows what this is and why it is special...
  10. Not so odd... there is a boardie that started putting together a mini collection of cards featuring NFL felons.
  11. Here in Long Island we also have fluoride in our water. It's the other stuff we are scared of.
  12. That might be true... but here on Long Island I will stick to the filters and bottled water... The tap water in the bottled water is probably better than the tap water coming from my faucet.
  13. Just re-made it. If you want, PM me with an email address or an apple messenger ID and I will send it over.
  14. Apparently when I respond on these boards from my phone I type in broken english. (I just read what I wrote ) I tried looking for it the other day on my computer actually and could not find it. Eventually I will have to make a new one.
  15. I should have written to me... but at the end of the day, I predict as time moves on it will continue to become even more character driven rather than artist driven. (Again to clarify there is a difference between artist driven and creator driven.)
  16. Your killing the vibe maaaaaaan killing the vibe.... “I’m growing older not up.”
  17. First appearances was the natural end... I originally started with baseball cards and rookies were always more desirable than the 7th year card. That led to how I started collecting comics. First Daredevil red costume was always more desirable than the first time frank Miller was on the book. With comics it is about the characters... the characters will be up there with their creators but will always supersede later artists that work on them.
  18. Banana Strawberry Orange mixed with tequila and coconut rum and a splash of lime. “As the son of a son of a sailor I went out on the sea for adventure Expanding their view of the captain and crew Like a man just released from indenture”
  19. Well, that is not universally true. Just ask the people of certain areas of Michigan... and... seriously... what's in the Long Island drinking water?
  20. Yes... when I did just that. I had a choice in 2012 between buying a new car or buying a new comic. I figured that my then 2001 Mustang mostly sits in the driveway anyway since I take the train. So, I bought the comic... and almost threw up. I kept the 2001 Mustang until 2018... and that was only because the air conditioning went and it was May. The Jeep was ordered within a couple of weeks after contacting an ex who had connections to a local Jeep dealership. First time I ever said to someone, "you owe me." She made a phone call and went with me to the dealership and I got a very good deal. Walked away with a Jeep that was cheaper to own than it would have been to lease AND I still have that comic.
  21. When I ran them in the past I used a simply spreadsheet in excel. All I had to do was input the grades that each board member and that was subtracted from the actual grade and put into an absolute value format. All of the absolute value grades were then added up in another column to show how many total points away they were from the actual grades. The guy with the lowest amount of points was the closest to the actual grades and they won.
