  1. And there goes the roof on owning a copy of the first appearance of the Black Knight
  2. I sold a pair of Spider-man #1's in 9.9 for $1000 on 9/30/2017 This is when a 9.8 was going for $50-60. If someone needs to pay an extra $900 for that .1 I am more than happy to take their money.
  3. We couldn't do that on the old forum either... I think.
  4. Zac Brown Band Last Night This band is incredibly versatile. After they perform the show featuring their songs they delve back to their jam band roots and break out some cover songs. They can execute their own songs live like Toes, Knee Deep, Free with precision and then immediately launch into James Taylor and then Rage Against the Machine as well as the White Stripes and Def Leopard. Oh... tailgate was split. We got their a little late due to the times people finish with work so most everyone else was in the closet lot while three of us knew we would be shut out of parking there and picked up sandwiches as we were in the other lot. You know what we had though that they didn’t? A blender... As much as I loved the mustang, I’m really loving the Jeep.
  5. Hasbro made a power move and purchased Entertainment One for $4 Billion. Content includes: Peppa Pig and a Music Division that just so happens to be Suge Knight's old label. Hasbro is looking to create synergy across all acquisitions so this should be interesting as Hasbro has been trying to develop franchises for the last few years. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/hasbro-death-row-records-entertainment-one-875805/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entertainment_One
  6. I have one guy that creates new screen names for some reason and seems to buy them. What he does not know is that he lives three blocks away from my brother. When I told my brother that he probably is standing next to him when he goes certain places my brother just shook his head.
  7. Oh you totally should... as much as people know I do that just for giggles... there are many that have no clue I do that.
  8. I've sold them. We all know that. I've also sold my used flip flops.
  9. I actually like the character so I am curious and happy to see them do something with her. I say this while at the same time I do not own a single copy of her first appearance. You know what my inner three year old is also going to like? I am going to take personal delight in all the fools getting fanboy butthurt over her mere existence once she shows up on screen. If anyone has not picked up her series or read a few story arcs you are missing out. She's fun.
  10. Eventually everything sells. I have had a few times when people have said that... and then it sells.
  11. Rise if Skywalker Certain Plastic Construction Set Images... Oh and one from the Streaming Service TV Series Spoilers... Minor spoiler as to who is alive that was not in Episode 8.
  12. Don’t think I am being a marvel apologist for saying it but it made sense as to what they did and how they did it from a narrative perspective. Go back four years ago when the deal was announced and remember how many people rolled their eyes at another Spider-Man film introducing a new actor as Peter Parker and having to sit through yet another movie of how Uncle Ben died and how Peter learns that with great power comes great responsibility. We all yawned at the thought of seeing that again especially since the Garfield movies were so recently released. Marvel pulled the right move with this... when we meet Tom Holland he has already been Spider-Man for a bit and Stark has been keeping tabs on him. In fact I walked away thinking that Tony is / was keeping tabs on many others as well in case he needs them. Through dialogue, the already well known origin story is alluded to when Peter explains to Tony why he does what he does. Now why does Spider-man NEED Tony in his movie? Simple... Sony demanded it. If we let Spider-Man play with the marvel guys again then Sony wanted the top box office draw of the time to be in their movie... they wanted RDJ as Tony Stark. The movie then adopts the theme of the hero who loses everything and then needs to prove he is worthy. As far as an alien invasion... I think everyone would have been befuddled if Peter didn’t participate especially since the attack was obviously going to be New York based. I mean three infinity stones were present in NY, how could they explain the absence of Peter Parker involved in an attack on New York? i get what they did because they knew they needed to depart from the same old same old. I’ve actually said I liked Man of Steel because there needed to be a slightly different tone. They basically did the same thing... We didn’t need to see the origin story unfold because we’ve already seen it enough times.
  13. I'm all caught up... finally all of the puzzle pieces have fallen into place... Now a lot of other stuff makes sense when people makes a few jokes or make comments... I now know what they are alluding to. Thanks ! Now, on to the next board mystery.
  14. I just laughed out loud at that one. There was also the "see you next..." line.
  15. Because it doesn't matter if it sells within a time frame. It matters to the seller if it sells for the price they want for it. I recently sold a book for a very strong price that had sat there for over two years. I was fine with that because other things sold to justify keeping it there until I got the price I wanted for it. I have a page or two of art offered at a very strong price. The reasoning on the art is that I don't care if it sells... but IF it sells I want it to be at a price that allows me to get something cooler.
  16. Every time I see this thread this is how I read it... "I went to a comic book store today and saw...", my brain continues that with ... "A Day in the Life" by the Beatles... Every. Single. Time.
  17. If someone purchases the item at the price offered then the deal is done. However, I have pulled things down from eBay to go back in the box for awhile no matter how many people were watching it.
  18. I've shamelessly done it myself. Let's say market has a going rate of $1000-1200 on a book. I have my price at $1200. Something happens that makes me feel this book is about to pop, or I see a sale on another site that was even higher than that. I am increasing the price of my book. I don't need it to sell right now. I need it to sell at the price I want to get for it. I have had people that were following a book or a toy or a lego set or anything actually... remark that it was a cheaper price 'yesterday'. I explain to them that the book is heating up and that is the new price... I have to be honest, even with the price increase the item eventually sells. At one point I sold a few very hard to find (because of the demand) GI Joe figures. As I saw similar figures start to increase, I raised the prices on mine despite some of them having multiple watchers. Perhaps they sold at the higher prices because customers realized that the prices across the board were starting to increase all over and they better stop waiting because next week it might be even more. I am currently priced VERY high on one particular figure. The figure in question is probably in the top ten of all time favorites and notoriously known for a specific part breaking. I have one and I am not selling it for less than a certain price. As more figures break and the well dries up ever so slightly over time, people have been making offers closer and closer to what I want for it. At one point when I had it listed for $20 less there were no takers or offers. Since I have raised it $20 I am getting closer to what I want and have even surpassed the initial offering price. I have also noticed fewer out there as nice as mine because that well is drying up.
  19. @jsilverjanet I don't know if you followed up on it... but... I don't think we are getting Cookie Monster... I had backed it but with 2 days and a few hours to go, there are 524 backers out of the required 3,000. I am curious to see what happens. Doesn't look good for Unicron either... but I lol'd at that one. I really want Cookie Monster though
  20. I think it finally broke... that was a tec I think... originally It was a 9.0?
  21. I wanted to tag DT in the post in a relevant story so I x'd it and re-wrote it while tagging a couple of people.
  22. Ohhhh yeah... Then we did not know if it was really his wife or Red Rocks posing as his wife... Teehee... Follow up - I just went to Red Rock's closed account. Looks like almost everything from the point of sale of the book to Beige was deleted or locked and hidden by the mods. I was around back then and remembered RR being pretty arrogant about the whole thing after DT exposed the "true collector" line that he ran. To @Designer Toast What happened to him influenced me as a seller. When I was raising money to gain a larger down payment for the house I put a few pieces of art up for sale. This guy contacted me and wanted to buy it but he just could not afford it. He told me he was a true collector and that he really wanted it as he was always looking for bronze age art from his favorite artists of his favorite characters. I refused to budge and he wound up buying it at full price from me over eBay asking me to promise to let him know if I out any other bronze age art up for sale. I said sure and moved on. @Columbia Comics sends me a text one day over the summer. He asks if I was aware that the page of art I sold was in the new Comiclink auction. I was completely unaware of it. So I did what anyone in that position would do. I bid on and made sure I WON the piece back... at well under half the price I sold it to the guy for. I eventually got back in touch with the buyer to let him know I had another bronze age piece of art for sale... heh heh... Why? Because why not... It's not even my favorite page but I love the story behind it so it is framed and hanging on the wall. Images are of my winning bid announcement which is still visible in my winnings list at CLink and a scan of the page itself. If the buyer is a member of the boards he has never said anything about it. So if DT can take any solace in any of that mess it is that his ordeal made others aware of that line and that eventually they are found out in a way that allows others to screw with them.
  23. I partially screwed that up... I had him and then I had to suddenly get another arm surgery. Then I got lazy... Funny thing was that I sent him out with a bag full of Lego Superhero keychains as a mea culpa for future recipients to take one and pass it around... Kraven went to a couple of more people but eventually he and the Legos disappeared. There is a bit more to the Kraven story as to what happened while he was on Long Island but that is for another day. I don't think I ever posted the pictures that I took with him either... that I have... somewhere on the computer I am on.
