  1. There are other things I want. There are a few pages of art that are out there that have my interest. There was an incredible Romita Jr Spider-man page I liked but before I could man up and make an offer someone bought it from Metro. Lately though I am into less is more. Sell off more smaller things ... do other things with the money whether that is to put it into the house or buy bigger or better comics.
  2. Tomorrow is Sunday Funday in the kitchen... I am making tequila lime strip steak with grilled peppers and onions and a side of fresh mango salsa.
  3. I don't know... My friend said it best when she was talking about her diamond ring. She got married young and the engagement ring was one that they could afford at the young age that they were. Her husband asked her if she wanted to upgrade or get a newer ring. Her response was that the more she thought about it, she did not want to walk around with something too expensive and she also looked at things differently. She looked at the money that would go into the ring and said that she could see new floors building part of the extension that she wanted or something like that. When I bought the first two AF15's I bought them for what people today would consider VERY cheap. I bought the 1.8 in 1997-98 and I bought the 3.5 in 2010. In fact if offered the books again at the price I paid I would buy a few more copies. When I bought the 6.0 in 2012. I paid a record sum for it as it did not have any marvel chipping. I did not own a house at the time and I kind of also needed to buy a car as the one I had was a 2001 Mustang that still had not cracked 100,000 miles at the time but it was still 11 years old. I had to make a decision between buying a car or getting the AF15. I bought a new car in 2018 and I am glad I did. Today... I look at buying another copy of a book I already have three of and I cannot justify it. I could buy another AF15 OR I could pay off a chunk of the mortgage. IF I were to buy another copy, I would most likely sell off the majority of the art and comics I have which would include most of the slabbed 1-100 run, the golden age books and everything else. Half would go toward buying another AF15 and the other half would go toward the house.
  4. So... while working on the yard I had to make a quick lunch this afternoon. So... Garlic and Cilantro chicken breast on ciabatta bread with cheddar cheese. Heat your pan on medium-high. Add in some olive oil Mince one clove of garlic and toss it in the pan once the pan is nice and hot. Cook quarter of chicken breast VERY lightly seasoned. Mince two sprigs of cilantro Season with salt, pepper and chili seasoning. As the chicken is mostly cooking toast your halfs of ciabatta bread Add sliced cheddar cheese - didn't have the good stuff so I sliced off pieces from a cabots I had about. Deliciously paired with a Sam Adams Kosmic Sour
  5. Yup Same here. Or... sometimes I hoard the undercopies.
  6. I believe they will. In the old days of HasbroToyShop, on the few times I scored leftover SDCC stock, I am pretty sure they did.
  7. I was actually thinking of a 3.5 foot tall Galactus... BTW... any chance you have the Marvel Universe sized Silver Surfer? What does that look like compared to the Marvel Legends sized Galactus?
  8. With that part I agree with you. I live in NY. Many in the US generalize about New Yorkers so I understand that.
  9. I am really hoping Cookie Monster is made. The Unicron campaign is too lofty of a goal at 8,000 units and too hefty of a price at almost $600. Again, it is a licensed property and I believe the price should be at least in line with the barge. I think they picked 8,000 units believing that the barge numbers (8,700+?) was a comparable number to gauge interest. Possible other Haslabs? If Unicron fails I think they are going to go on the smaller scale. Marvel: I don't think they would go with a quinjet. However I could see a full size Galactus or Sentinel though as that could be a $100 to $125 full size figure that would deliver some fan service while at the same time, keep the idea of the Haslab as viable. GI Joe: I see them offering figures through this model. I could see them offering a run of retooled figures of the original 13 at a cost of $300-$350 for a set. At the high end, maybe a Resolute Flag. I could also see Hasbro go the route of a figure subscription service like Fun Publications did when they had the GI Joe license and were delivering figures that Hasbro didn't think was worth developing for shelf space. That's where we could start seeing reissues of Star Wars characters or all new versions of figures that Hasbro is not putting on the priority list.
  10. You might be correct. However, consider that there are many reasons why people cannot leave. The whole, "if you don't like it leave" argument does not work for me either, no matter who is saying it. It never has, and it never will. It is rudely dismissive and ignorant. Sometimes if something is wrong, you recognize the problem and you fight to fix it.
  11. Not everyone can leave... its 7:45am and I can think of three reasons people would not be able to leave a city.
  12. I have about 3 raw copies and 1 CGC 9.8. Then I have a bunch in different languages. A friend of mine has about 30 raw copies in varying grades. When I was a kid this woman sold comics at the local dirt mall (Mallrats reference). She had it priced at $10? $20? I would buy ASM each month where the first issue I ever bought was #292. When I asked to see the 252 as I started to go backwards she laughed at me and said "No, because I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway." Jerk. Her eyes would spin into the back of her head if she saw some of the purchases and sales I have made over the years.
  13. I answer questions... but you have to know what questions to ask.
  14. Log: Day 3 10:00 hours. The war against the wasps continues on in the third day. Their numbers dwindle but the war is far from over. They seem confused. They are scattered and they continue to fly around the area. I have reason to believe that they are regrouping in a secret lair that I have not found. In the meantime, the citizens of the garden have a false sense of security and have emerged from their cottages believing themselves free from the wasps reign of terror. The bees and the dragonflies thought to enjoy the day either oblivious to the threat below the ground or without care. I could not help but document their existence as life is short and futile and today it could be their last should the wasps organize for a counter strike. Patrols continue and more ivy and foliage cleared to expose more of the ground and hopefully root out more wasp encampments. Casualties have maintained at a minimum but this morning Lt Thumb was injured by an enemy combatant. Thumb will hopefully recover.
  15. I think he is full of excrement. I told him that things were already marked at 8% off and if he took advantage of the eBay incentive 10% in eBay bucks that he could score additional savings. I am NOT a fan of: I have cancer can I have a discount. I am in the military can I have a discount. I have friends and family who have been under the above circumstances and none of them ever used those circumstances as 'coupons'. So there was no paying it forward. He is fortunate that I was even polite.
  16. Depends on the volume of pencils. If, for some reason you need 1,000 pencils then presharpened is the way to go... like mini golf pencils.
  17. No cat and I do what I can to keep the birds away. When I discovered a nest in my attic, I contracted my handyman to fabricate new attic vents to prevent the birds from getting into the attic. The baby birds were relocated but I think the hawks or the raccoons got to them.
  18. Question to people reading this... Are people that bold to tell me that they want to buy my stuff on eBay but want to know if I can lower the price since they have to pay taxes aaaaaaaaaaaaaand.... here is the big part... he is trying to buy these things... but money is short due to him having to pay for parts of his chemotherapy that his insurance does not cover... smh... FULL PRICE ! If money is short this month because of chemo... money is going to be short next month too... don't buy anything on eBay... Use the money that you would have spent on toys this month and money will not be short or as short next month.
  19. OMG... I should host an AMA while Kav is on his 7 Day vacation ! Or I should allow @jaybuck43 to conduct a Howard type interview Then everyone gets suspended.
  20. Ask away then... I am listing things on eBay and am in front of the computer for the foreseeable future. I've already uploaded pics of my China cabinet which is really the only display area I have. I only got two questions out of that. We've already detailed my little war on the wasps and their underground hive and my dumping many gallons of bleach into the ground to soak through and get to them. Seriously, I wonder if sanitation is going to question why there are so many empty bleach bottles in my recycling... With few exceptions I have no problem turning this into an AMA.
  21. I think starting in 2020 I am going to start uploading scans for everything... There are some gems already pictured though... https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/Member_Dashboard.aspx?PeopleID=100385
  22. Still love this book. Bought it off the boards and had it graded. was going through pics on my phone and thought I would share.
  23. Hopefully the sanitation department doesn’t question why I’m throwing out all of these empty containers of bleach... After ripping out six bags and pails worth of ivy... and using multiple containers of bleach to soak the ground and their underground lair.... I think the beasties have been vanquished...
