  1. As a customer I am not touching your raw $500 book though.
  2. Bed Stuy is actually undergoing a gentrification process unlike anyone has seen since the hipsters moved into Williamsburg. You would be surprised what is going on there in the last three years. Check this out... Current advertised rentals... In 10 years, the cost of rent in Bed Stuy has almost doubled. Current Rentals in Bed Stuy - Apartments.com Gentrification increases rent by 40% in Bed Stuy Now, I live out on the island and would never live in Bed Stuy, not so much because of the neighborhood but because I don't want to hear my neighbors or deal with city nonsense.
  3. I bought a book from Metropolis and they did not detect that the CF was married. They noted it as being Color Touched but did not note the married page. I kept the book.
  4. My take on this was that many comic shop owners in the early 2000's were not very willing to embrace CGC and their grading standards due to a conflict between CGC's and their grading scale. A store advertising a NM comic would only rate a grade worth of a 7.0 in many cases if submitted to CGC. I still see that mentality across LI. Last winter I saw a book labeled as VF at a show but there are multiple problems that would have pushed it into the 3.0-4.0 range. Newer stores MAY be against it because it is an added cost on their overhead to sell a book which does not make fiscal sense for many newer issues. However if they were to buy a collection and come across some high dollar books, sell a book for a couple of thousand, I think they need to embrace a third party grading service, if anything, for their own protection.
  5. Don't even give him the time of day. He is a keyboard warrior... and seemingly a very angry one at that. @uchiha101 You mention that you would not tell your parents what is going on in your life and that there is a bit of conflict going on there. Is there anyone else in your family that you feel comfortable talking to or letting them know what is going on? Perhaps a sibling? Perhaps a uncle or aunt that you trust? Grandparent? You never know. There are many instances where fresh eyes can offer insight that none of us here, yourself included, might be able to see.
  6. Oh it will turn out well in that if he paid he will take the books and there should not be any complaint. However, I did not like how easily he burns through eBay IDs and his nickel and dime approach. When I have packages wrapped up for you and then you disappear you shouldn't rear your head again and do the same posing as a different person. I am glad it worked out for you though but I appreciate the heads up as I have Becky now blocked as well.
  7. Tell him that Andrew of Long Island wants to know when he will be sending payment for the ASM he promised to buy. Then tell him never mind because instead of selling it for $90 I sold it for $275 setting a GPA High for the book. I am blocking Becky as well. He must be up to his usual nonsense if he had to create yet ANOTHER eBay ID. He will buy a book but he is selective about when he wants to actually follow through with future sales. His money is no good to me and I hope he tries his nonsense with someone that turns to be within arms length and gives him a good throttling.
  8. I have one person with no posts that is 'following' me. Whatevs...
  9. I cry BS on that. Seriously... don't bother with comics. If you are in the West Village West Fourth Street Basketball Court (The Cage) This is a very famous court where NBA and Amateur ballers go to play REAL basketball. There is always a crowd watching. I will watch better b-ball there than most anything put on TV. Down the Hatch and Atomic Wings - I honestly love the wings there. When a boardie wanted to meet up one time in NYC I met them at Atomic Wings... they loved the wings there... @PeteFromPetesBasement just had a meetup there for his show. Shameless plug for Pete. Roccos Pastry of Bleeker Street - OMG... place is amazing. We wanted good pastry and cappuccino a few weeks ago. It was either here or go to Brooklyn to Fortunato's Brothers Bakery. Since the L train sucks sewage through a straw we stayed in the city. Rocco's is amazing and has later hours than most other city bakeries. Seriously... I may have to make a boardie travel guide... "New York's hottest club is... "
  10. I absolutely will not take anything back when someone says, "decided I didn't want it." That's straight up buyer's remorse which is not covered by eBay returns. It's not my problem that the buyer's wife is going to kill them and is threatening divorce. They are getting divorced months from now over something else. We frown upon board behavior like that so I will fight it to discourage the buyer from doing that again. Here is the thing... if this makes me a bad guy and there are some here that say, I don't want to deal with Buzzetta because he won't take something back if I say I no longer want something then I am PERFECTLY fine with that. I don't want to deal with buyers like that. Before I started saving eBay notifications and emails (Prior to 2008-9) from problem bidders and buyers there was a guy who bought CGC books from me. I remember shipping the books to an address that turned out to be a comic book store in Florida. (If you turn out to be a problem buyer I start looking into you.) He kept the books for a bit and then wanted to return them. I refused it. If I recall correctly I think I remember this as the guy who had listed them on eBay after he bought them from me. I am not your merchandise supplier that you get to return to if you cannot flip your items for more than you bought them for or if a customer backed out of the deal. The only time I ever let it go was when a got a note that I felt was sincere from a father. He said he gave his kid permission to buy a funko pop on eBay and did not realize his son spent $450 on a listed set of NYCC exclusives. He offered to pay listing fees and said ultimately that if I held him to it they would buy it. I asked him to initiate a cancellation request and granted it. I knew they would sell anyway and they did. Guy wrote me a thank you message saying that now his son would only be working two weeks at the family restaurant and not ten or something like that if the son had to pay them off.
  11. Eh... Guilty on a couple of posts... you're right. So... Gabe... @uchiha101 do your parents or a close relative know what is going on here? I am being serious. Say for example you do leave to go somewhere to meet up with someone for the first time. Your parents or a close family member should be aware of your whereabouts. My brother is 41 and lives on the opposite side of the country and will text or tell my parents whenever he is leaving the country. Back in 2011, I decided to take a little road trip from New York to Nova Scotia to visit my coworker who had a house there, stopping in Maine, New Hampshire and Boston along the way... As I was travelling by myself and driving, I let my parents know what I was doing. That time I was stuck in New Orleans during Katrina... I let 'everyone' know what was going on during the storm. You're family knows you best, and not a bunch of strangers on a message board. Do not seek validation from us. However, while you are an adult, you should be making them aware of what is going on in your life rather than us when it comes to a few of these things that you have mentioned in this thread.
  12. She is the subject of a few pranks every now and then so she regularly appears on my Instagram and Facebook account. She has a fun sense of humor... then there is my dad who ‘sometimes’ has a fun sense of humor.
  13. I was at the center of something once. Both sides of something wanted me as a witness. One tried may have tried to issue one in person but were unable to gain access to me. The other side was able to call me and left me numerous messages. I called back once and explained why it was in everyone's best interest to leave me alone. I never heard from either side again. I am not going into any more detail than that. Jury duty... I would never trust putting my fate in the hands of people that were not smart enough to get out of jury duty.
  14. ehh yes and no. depends on what it is for and if the person issuing realizes in the end it might be best not to have you anywhere near a courtroom.
  15. This is the type of thread where those that administer the boards will eventually receive subpoenas for more information after the author of this journal is featured on the news.
  16. Post something about comics just to keep this journal on the up and up... The following are going to take a vacation in Florida for a few months...
  17. Go to the one in Hudson Yards... I have not been there myself but supposedly it is the same sandwich. Sometimes the people at MSG actually screw the sandwich up due to having limited resources to cook and shelve and process food orders at a concert venue.
  18. I became a fan of the spicy chicken sandwich after searching for something new during the 13 night Phish concert at MSG back in 2017. They were quick, easy and delicious. https://liveforlivemusic.com/features/chicken-madison-square-garden/ By the Phish NYE run of 2017, Chang 'gets it.' and is in on the joke...
  19. I like your comment to me a few weeks ago... "Why does she put up with you?" She has not had to so far this week due to her daughter coming back home, work, and my going to Buffett yesterday, (met up with her brother and his wife in the parking lot.) and tonight she isn't she is going to the Mets game again with her siblings and their dad. This means I gotta put my A-Game on if I cook tomorrow.
  20. Not as flexible as the significant others in some other journals.
  21. Stay tuned... I may post another pic of my mom.
  22. I think it also comes down to the item. I have a no-return policy on eBay. As known, I also sell jewelry over ebay. Nothing crazy... things usually priced between $100-$350 an item. I learned early on that there are customers that like to buy an item and wear it for a bit and then return it. That no return policy has come in handy. I have had people ask if they can have additional pics taken in reference to points of the item to as far as having the items worn on a female's wrist. I have no problem doing any of that. However, after awhile you get a sense of who is a 'buyer' and who wants to take it home for free to wear it out for a night or to try it around and twirl in a mirror. When they ask way too many questions at some point I will remind them to be very sure because there are no returns. Now why do I do that? As also known I manage a relative's eBay account that also sells the same type of jewelry. Unbeknownst to the buyer they are sometimes trying the same routine with me operating under two accounts. I roll my eyes because I have a sharp memory and have caught a few gals with almost a scripted routine trying the same thing across the two accounts. This is why I do what I can to fight because if you don't it merely encouraged bad behavior toward others. I have seen that first hand. PS to this... It is more than amusing when someone realizes that to them, a seller who they have not done business with before already has their account blocked. If you are a bad buyer on one account, I am blocking you on both.
  23. Both of these are absolutely true... so... it depends on the books.
  24. Ehh, I will always fight a return when the buyer is being fraudulent, or deceptive, or negligent or remorseful. I will always take back a return where I a screwed up or missed something or no I cannot prove my case.
  25. Yeah, no one is issuing 'beer tickets' at a show like this or at the beach in general. However, if you are caught with ANY alcohol on your breath and you are operating a motor vehicle and are under the age of 21, they are justifiably going to take your license and make your foreseeable future very miserable.
