  1. Maybe with the guy but not with that listing. If I list something as being restored and two fools want to have a contest and bid it up to an unrestored price? That's on them.
  2. What did he do wrong? There is no wall of text where any relevant information is buried. The book is clearly stated as being restored. In fact the listing says it is restored in the condition under the title. In fact the listing says it is restored in the description on the second line after naming the book again. This is not an issue where the seller did anything wrong in the listing. The public cannot take the time to READ what they are getting. The seller makes no overt or concealed effort to hide that the book is restored. The bidders in this listing merely look at this and see a Hulk 181 and that it has the value stamp and cannot be bothered to read since they might have a "gotta have gimme now need it now mentality."
  3. Long Island and City Fed Ex is far worse...
  4. Remember that when CBCS first came into business that Universal books used the same color label as restored books. So... get a restored by CGC book regraded in a CBCS holder (when they first opened) List your auction at an opening bid for what that book would sell for at its restored grade. Write multiple times that the book is restored with a small amount of color touch Write that the book is restored in the title. There are people in this hobby that just look at the label color and the number and ignore everything else and bid the hell out of that book. Just like most of the people over in the CBCS forum... and I know they see this... they don't read and they believe whatever they want to believe in order to make themselves feel better.
  5. Repeat what you wrote while looking at this image.
  6. @STORMSHADOW_80 @whisp Lordy... did you guys see this? I like the design second to Stormy's Gray Wolf Custom and both of those designs better than the army green... wow... One day I'm going to learn how to do this type of stuff.
  7. I am still awaiting information on how and when I can sign up for Disney's streaming service. I am dreading the idea of them just 'opening the floodgates' the day that the content is available as I envision systemwide delays and crashes. If the network is to go live November 12th, I would think there would have been more information by now as far as how and when to sign up or at least a date that we will be able to do so. Will Disney be able to handle a few hundred thousand to a million subscribers signing up and activating their accounts within the first weekend?
  8. The interesting issue here is that despite the feud between Johnson and Diesel the producers recognize that Dwayne Johnson is money. So... the only reasonable decision would be to expand on Hobbs role in the Fast and Furious universe while keeping a distance from the original F&F storyline in order to keep Johnson and Diesel apart. I flat out assumed that Johnson would not mind continuing a role set in an already established and financially sound movie franchise. The Rock IS bank.
  9. Some random thoughts... I was patiently awaiting the release of this trailer. I mean who wouldn't? From the official Netflix description: Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci star in Martin Scorsese’s THE IRISHMAN, an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th Century. While the star power in the movie is unquestionable and it is a pleasure to see the return of Pesci, the de-aging process cannot be ignored. When Captain America: Civil War arrived in theaters we were treated to a 80's version of Robert Downey Jr in his BARF technology psychiatrist session as he relived a moment with his parents. We were astonished in Ant Man and Avengers: End Game when they reversed Michael Douglas' age so we could go back in time to see him when he worked with SHIELD. Earlier this year a circa 1995 Samuel L Jackson starred in Captain Marvel. Back then the Hollywood Reporter Article (HERE) had a good point in that we would be further distancing ourselves from the reality of what these actors act and sound like on film. The primary concern was that of achievable and realistic images for the public in contrast to what is considered glamorous on screen as well as 'digitally' creating the actor you wanted or needed to sidestep actual actors. However there have been many positives when it comes to this. Does the next Indiana Jones movie necessarily need to be a sequel to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull or can we de-age Ford so that it takes place before that movie? Star Wars: Rogue One pushed the boundaries in raising the dead and deaging Fisher. Since then the technology has drastically improved.... So... with that said... where are we going with this technology... and how will it be used... and what are the consequences both good and bad... ? The RDJ De-Aging Scene from Civil War
  10. I very much remember that... It is astonishing to me that those of us that prefer CGC can say that companies make mistakes and CGC has missed the mark before. I have VERY little respect for those that offer nothing but blind allegiance and project infallibility upon their choice and make excuses or deny the existence of fact. (Yes I am talking about more than just CBCS).
  11. CGC and CBCS board members engaging with each other on Facebook... NSFW
  12. I agree with you. If that is what the CT is then that is a shortcoming on CGC's part. However... the trimming... ohhhhh the trimming.
  13. Aaaaaand posted... let's see what happens.
  14. I will ask it on the CBCS boards... If they ban me so what...
  15. Things don't always work out that way... I would ask this question on the CBCS boards and especially on the CBCS FB groups.... They will go berserk. Whoever should undertake such a mission should do the boards a solid and end their post with, "You want to hear a good joke? Nobody speak, nobody get choked."
  16. I dunno... but the timeline fits with someone taking a bath in the book. You figure given a turnaround time of 60 days to get the thing pressed and graded that the book would have come back around December / January and then been submitted to ComicLink to sell after the owner was through crying.
  17. I solved it for ya.... Someone took a bath in this book. The CBCS copy was graded first and was sold on 8/29/2018 for $10,405 LINK: http://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?id=1268769 The CGC copy was graded on 4/16/2019 and was later sold on ComicLink at an unknown date for $869 Someone got screwed to the tune of over $9,500
  18. Want to see the other pieces I have hanging up in the house ? I only have 7 on display. You can assess those as well.
  19. I love this piece and you will not take that away from me. It looks great to me.
  20. @STORMSHADOW_80 You are a bad influence... Gamestop did an interstore transfer for me.
  21. He and I have two totally different ideas with home decor. I have the one China Cabinet that is ever rotating. Other than that... I don't like having anything and everything out unless it is in my office and even then that is kind of subdued. I saw the coffee table you talk about and noticed that one of the Cantina band members had fallen over. That would drive me nuts every time I was cleaning to be careful to knock into a cabinet where everything needs to be reset.
  22. My sorting methods are not uniform. All sets in storage are build and disassembled and stored in its own ziplock back just in case I ever want to sell it. Then I have all the parts from the goodwill lots and garage sales and things like that where I know they are incomplete. I have ziplock bags of tires. Containers of windows and doors and slopes. Then I have buckets of colored building bricks and then flats. That seems to work for me for now. I have seen guys get cabinets and sorting containers normally found in a hardware store for when you need specific size nuts, bolts, screws and the like. I don't have the desire to devote the space to something like that.
  23. I bought this Romita Jr Spider-man page for $200 off a 0 Feedback Buyer a few years ago on eBay... It was at auction for a starting bid of $200 and I was the only bidder with a lot of people watching. Another board member by chance said he was watching it and saw that it sold but didn't want to pull the trigger because it was a 0 feedback buyer. I was the one that bought it as I love a good panel page that tells the story on that single page. I met the seller at a Starbucks in NYC to pick it up. The board member for awhile was asking me to sell it to them but that's not happening. I don't care about discussing what I paid since it is framed and hanging up and not going anywhere. I have done extremely well on eBay as a buyer due to other people's paranoia and hesitation in buying on eBay.
