  1. As much as the Yankees... BTW... 6-2 over Oakland today... woohoo !!!
  2. I bought two copies of FF48 in a 6.0 in the same night for $390 and $350 each on eBay on March 7, 2014. One of them is still in the box and the other was pressed to a 7.0. GPA says that the last sale on a 6.0 was $1100 and the last sale for a 7.0 was $1500. That is crazy for a warehouse find book that has PLENTY of higher grade copies available. I will be having that other Old Label 6.0 pressed in and regraded in the next year. Now if anyone wants to get a first Silver Surfer you are going to pay an insane price for even a midgrade copy. Apparently the Surfer is the new Wolverine.
  3. Over the years, why do you think that your dad asked you not to ask about the comic book? What do you think actually happened? Glad you got it back.
  4. I originally put together a midgrade raw ASM run by about two years after I graduated college. By 2012 I completed a slabbed 1-100 run... I don't think I would ever be able to do that now going by what today's prices command. I watched the prices that certain books that I want are going for and the prices I am getting for books that I no longer want... It is definitely a seller's market right now.
  5. In this very specific case and with this specific individual there has been numerous attempts of people asking this individual both publicly and privately to take a breath and to just hit the "pause" button. It's a shame because otherwise I am sure he would be an enjoyable person to be around.
  6. This is because some people and things never change.
  7. To be fair... I do not think any of us will truly know what is going on until after it has happened. Even then there will probably be a non disclosure agreement rendering speculation on the subject completely moot.
  8. There was a thread discussing this but it has been locked. Basically, the buyer became cranky because he felt it was a misappropriation of Post Office materials. They left back handed feedback for a member here. Then a "discussion" ensued and the thread was locked.
  9. Just sold a book for $200. It is going from New York to California I am going to double box it using a 1092 / 1095 Combo. We shall see if hilarity ensues.
  10. - I also remember looking through GI Joe comics to make sure they were the originals and not the reprints and thinking the same.
  11. If I recall correctly there were a few established dealers that were given early access to Voldemort grading.
  12. "Aurellius, pass me the latest issue of Hercules. I want some light reading before we arrive in Alessia. The Gauls will never know what hit them." (It is important to say this in the voice of a British or Australian accent since we know that all ancient Romans spoke like Russell Crowe, Mark Strong, Hiddleston, and Alan Rickman.)
  13. I believe that the reprints are excellent signing opportunities. I picked up a True Believers AF15 signed by Stan. To me that was beyond worth it as I would never get my original copies signed. Especially with what is going on, I do not believe that anyone in their right mind should be sticking genuine AF15's in front of him.
  14. Sounds like they had some time of arrangement going or perhaps Metro invested in Voldemort in some capacity.... I dunno. I would imagine that if this is some type of breakup between the two that they are fighting for custody rights over Greggy Metro might want primary custody while Voldemort gets Greggy for weekends and the summer.
  15. This is what happens when all the n00bs ruin the boards
  16. True story... While in the original Yankee Stadium, we decided to get seats among the Bleacher Creatures. Security came around yelling at us that we could not say that Boston Sucks as it was a family environment. (Dunno when the Bleachers became a family environment.) Anywhoooo..... Bleacher Creatures shrugged... and led everyone in a rousing rendition of "Boston performs like a vacuum!!!" There are two sets of security at Yankee Stadium. Yankee security and NYPD. Security was not amused. NYPD laughed their rear ends off.
