  1. The First thing I saw was that I was greeted by Thor upon approaching the venue...
  2. This was basically me leaving work on Thursday... I may have left immediately without saying goodbye to anyone.
  3. It' the annual Buzzetta goes to New York Comic Con thread. As always the thread will contain pics of things I saw, various picks from the weekend both at the con and away, some things to show off, loot I took home to sell off and what I kept for me. I met up with some boardies, brought along some friends, walked the floor and took pics of the cosplayers. As always, sit back pop a favorite drink... and be ready to go look through the thread as I offer commentary on all of my foolishness. At the end of the thread I will post my thoughts on this years show. Here is a heads up - there are barely any wall books. Song for the thread... There will be numerous intermission breaks and songs littered throughout when I need to organize some stuff or stretch or whatever... Starting off: Eddie Vedder - Society (Jerry Hannon Cover) - Song about excess... great way to start a thread about NYCC
  4. I've got the same. The guy two houses down is retired NYPD and the guy across from me is FDNY... but still. I know I am paranoid over it but I just cannot put anything past people these days. Maybe it is NY skepticism as another boardie puts it or I am just getting older.
  5. Incident: Stolen CC or Account User Name: momokachan Real Name: Matt Hamilton (Probably Fake) City: Nashville TN User purchased a $10 Lego set. I shipped it out and was later notified by eBay that the account was used fraudulently. EBay refunded the money to him but also covered me so I did not lose anything either. However, figured that others would want to be made aware of the incident to avoid the account... until whoever the owner is regains control or ... well... or whatever.
  6. What was that about? Jog my memory. Maybe I acted in error. Were you acting in a way like Kav does? (The guy that liked the post) where I would have considered them more trouble than they are worth? Drama Llama ? Seriously... I honestly do not remember.
  7. Also to be fair it depends on where you live and the level of stuff you are shipping out. I have never been comfortable enough to utilize this service here on Long Island and was NEVER comfortable doing it in the NY Metro area. If I go straight home I can get the packages and bring them to the post office or at worst I take a few things with me to work and drop them off. I do the pre printed labels but I don't like leaving them unattended until I have a receipt. I never leave stuff in the drop box.
  8. I just bought it for $79.99 through the Amazon Treasure Truck. I was sent an alert and then clicked the buy it now. It was waiting for me in a Treasure Truck bag on W 28th street. I have to be honest here... I saw what they are going for... Do I open or flip and buy it again three weeks later at cost?
  9. I am really glad that I caught that episode... what an introduction to all of this.
  10. I was flipping around the internet and found a live stream on YouTube. The first episode I ever saw involved a maniacal grandfather turn himself into a pickle to escape going to family counseling. My lord this show is amazing. Over the course of the last two weeks I have seen them all. Into the rabbit hole I have fallen.
  11. My current list... is there anyone here that anyone knows? Don't know why some of them are here... but they did something.... to make the list. *-tread-*, all_your_gifts, anakin4msb, artglass4u2, auction_destroyer, aufalt, balarizaaf, banifirdaus777, bdehamer, behoutinc, bigsink, blackday86, bluedogwd5xzz, boobookitty_toys, brocklawley77, bunnystomper, california92563, canonguy2000, carnage_bs-22, cohiba6969, comicartfan62, comicbookchris85, cookiejuly, croniccrazy1, danger_getts, daniel3cb, danielmubaracbrazil, darsals76, ddennis137tpm, docseth81, dottyglitz, dstrohmeng77, e1dfd7349dcc72051449576439, ellieandbuddy, fakin4clay, finder84, gemmellee, geo3d, goarmy12345, god_magnus, goodnewscomics, griffon557, highlander_07, hobbiestoysandgames, hokiehayes, hollyhuney, hooliganseijin, huskyjackson, jeb37917, jkwmullin, jsanchez73, jshayne563, kdmcj07294til, kider24, kmor5870, ledjund, lindseyp16066, lsjbkaplan, macddaddy17, madmandan55803x, markk128, matthedavi_12, megaquasar, memorex987, nastytequila, pixiebob10, quartermileracer, rabeaver, ralphie_ceja1984, rebelpk10, rrrob-2042, samsmom825, sashacomics87, serpy76, sh0onuff, snowboarder646a02s, ssouthern31, the_real_ghostbusters, thesixthreich, tirotta42, tommy1196, tothiro999, trishlea33, ultimate_sportscards, voltronx1, wellers22, wolf-werks, x-menlover, yourpopautographs,
  12. HA... ! Thoughts on the first single off the new album? It was barely shruggable for me. It was and seemed lazy.
  13. Name and Location: Lakisha Nash - Sheboygan WI 53082-1204 (I omitted the PO Box) eBay ID: lakishnas_0 ( 4 ) Issue: Item purchased and payment never received. Item and Amount: GI JOE 50th SNAKE-EYES & STORM SHADOW Two pack figure 25th 30th 2016 TRU Cobra - $40.49 + shipping Two messages and invoices before I filed for the credit on the sale. Credit awarded and case closed out and this account is now blocked from doing further business with me. They are young at eBay it seems and maybe they will learn their lesson... but this is just in case.
  14. Thought I would come back and and add to the conversation as to why I use Global Shipping with jewelry. One of the scams I have become aware of is a buyer purchasing a piece on eBay to wear out or something for an event or two and then return it. (One person was so foolish as to tell me such). I personally feel that the GSP offers an added level of protection on things like that. Now that is an acceptable part of the deal when dealing with clothing or accessories. US buyers also do that. However, there are higher shipping fees associated with expedited shipping that I do not want to pay the return shipping on. I have noticed that by selling jewelry that there are more scams associated with those items than there are with comics. eBay seems to be more willing to fight for the seller when GSP is utilized. Today I moved five underperforming pieces over to my regular comics and toys account just to see if the fact that I have had the account longer and have a store will give those listings from juice. The downside of it is that because I do not utilize GSP on my comics and toys account, I am not making those five pieces available to international sales.
  15. I use it with the account that I use to sell jewelry. To tell the truth, I would not risk selling that type of stuff online without GSP. I have had customers complain because I refuse to budge with the jewelry but it is not worth the hassle of things going missing. I have had a few people utilize the GSP on eBay when they buy from me but I am sure that it probably shuts out a lot of international buyers. However the stuff seems to sell regardless so...
  16. Your tax dollars fund the comic purchases on any cop, fireman, teacher, sanitation worker or any other government employee. Really no different... Consider this. I live in NY. I just shipped two packages out. One went to someone in NJ and the other went to someone in Arkansas. Source:https://www.gobankingrates.com/making-money/average-americans-salary-state/ NJ Average Salary is $72,062 Florida Average Salary is $41,264 Let's simplify things... forgetting tax, let's say that even with the cost of living each person living in each state can only afford to devote 10% of their earnings to comic purchases. NJ has about $7,200 to play with AR has about $4,100 to play with When comic link, eBay, Comic Connect, heritage and any other seller online is offering something, they are offering it on a national level. However the buyers can only afford to buy based on their personal income. Unless you are well above average in Arkansas, you will not be able to compete with the average person from NJ. I wouldn't worry about Mr Welliver, I would be aware that at every auction there are regions of people with more of a disposable income than others that can spend more without it seriously impacting their bottom line.
  17. I didn't get anything. I will put $60 in the wallet for NYCC instead.
  18. What are people picking up? I can't find anything I want or need.
  19. BWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
  20. Because sometimes.... A spoon... is just a spoon.
  21. What if I told you that a CGC 10 Signature Series Book existed?
  22. They PM you too ?! Was it a long PM? I got a REALLY long PM.
