  1. Similar thing happened with a store in Blue Planet in Amityville and then Massapequa - Long Island. The books were not to my knowledge recovered. The guy was sleeping in the back of the store when the town came to board the place up for falling behind on the rent. He was also the guy who wished AIDs on people after he screwed them over online. Guy went out of business but those books also disappeared.

  3. The biggest Lego set ever produced and the worst kept secret of the company was officially announced. They are bringing back the Ultimate Millennium Falcon at a retail price of $800 US. Yes, you heard that right, $800 US.
  4. Just poison his maple syrup, tell him you hate hockey and Bret Hart and be done with it.
  5. So the people across the street have done that before with a sig witness? That is disgusting if true. Every now and then around NY and even more rare but it happens here on LI you will see a "celebrity". Most people leave them alone. I cannot imagine chasing them down for an autograph when they are on "their" time.
  6. I've been lurking... @mschmidt What is meant by the term "chased"? @seanfingh You always turn the volume up to '11' - I am always impressed. As far as desirable and rare? Bradbury, Frazetta and Harrison Ford immediately come to mind. I wish I had picked up a Nimoy signature when I had the chance. Honorable mention does go to Voldemort and the other guys. By their standards they certified the signature of a US President on a comic book. This is not a political thread and is not meant to be turned into one. By my standards though, that is very impressive and ridiculously cool. Super Honorable Mention - There are only two books certified with my name on it. (I did two of the DC coloring book covers) Those are in my personal collection and aren't going anywhere.
  7. My standard response to these is, "I appreciate your interest but I am comfortable with the price point that I have this book at." and I am done with it. I received a few, "what is the lowest you will accept on this book" last month. Mind you, I do not have a best offer on these books or other items. If I wanted to haggle and negotiate then I would open that option up.
  8. Bob, I had a similar situation. Nuts and bolts... Comiclink sent me a few higher end books. Driver dropped them off at the house and no one was home. Driver claims I signed for it. (I was at work in Brooklyn) Turns out the driver signed for it himself and dropped it off at the wrong house. Fed Ed didn't believe me at first. Called up Comic Link. They actually provided an assist with Fed Ex. Driver comes to my house complaining that I almost cost him his job. The books were Superman 3 and Superman 57... I eventually got my books back. Call Comic Link as well. They may have a louder voice with Fed Ex than us mere mortals.
  9. I go by timestamp since some buyers wish to remain anonymous. I've received offers after a price was negotiated or an item was taken. I go by timestamp. I myself have been an anonymous buyer on certain books here. We negotiated a price in PM and I did not make mention of it in the thread and neither did the seller. I don't know if other offers came in but I do know that my deal was honored and I currently hold the book.
  10. I agree. Someone recently emailed me asking if I would be interested in doing a table at a show. Not for me. However, I have a healthy respect for those that do.
  11. You would get better results by asking the age of those collecting Golden Age books in the Golden Age section. You would get to see a higher volume of quantity and get the answers you are looking for.
  12. I do not think you will see a large 18-25 response simply because I do not believe there to be a large portion of users of this board that figure into that demographic. On top of that who is to say that they are in comics general? Perhaps this would be better served had it been written in the Golden Age section of the boards. That's where we would find the age of the board members who actively pursue GA books. Comics General is probably not the best place to get results.
  13. For the price of $11 Shipped Media Rate you get the following: Billy and the Boingers: No Record (Don't know where it is... I'm not holding out.) Penguin Dreams and Stranger Things Tales Too Ticklish to Tell Toons For Our Times. Books range from VG to Fine
  14. Ok... the rules: "One bite... everybody knows the rules." Postage included in the price for US Buyers. I ship worldwide from the United States to as far as Gamehendge via Media for this listing in the US and via we will figure it out Worldwide. I accept PayPal I accept returns only if there is a problem with something I did or there is an inherent disagreement with grade. If your wife says she is divorcing you if you keep it, get in touch with an attorney but don't get in touch with me. I do not ship to people on the probation list, people who deal with people on the probation list, or drama llamas (taboot taboot). I will be shipping this item in a box. The obvious song for this thread is by Billy and the Boingers: I'm a Boinger and U Stink But I ♥ U
  15. I've been around but not as much. New board changes are not as easy to navigate through as quickly as I used to in comparison to the old board. Bought a house and have been spending a lot of time working on that. Been looking for a new job to no avail after another two people got up and left... and I have to be a little more picky than normal since I am already well over an hour commute in each direction between work and home. Lot of other things going on as well.
  16. I believe that we are in the process of a market saturation as everyone is trying to hoard yet cash in on books with the movie craze. There seems to be a demand. However... I will most likely start to sell most everything off when I retire in 4,603 days.
  17. Up to Episode 8 of Iron Fist... I am now nicknaming Iron Fist 'concrete' Why concrete? because it is hard to get through.
  18. I just list at the prices I want to sell at albeit a slight bit high. When someone writes me if I would offer free shipping or lower the price I simply reply that I am comfortable with the price point that I have attached to the book. If it sells... great. If not... it eventually will. Sold a few books last week under that rule of thumb. As you can tell I am not a fan of negotiations... it's priced at what it is priced at. Sometimes I will lower it but I usually never do the negotiation thing on eBay. On eBay it is priced at what it is priced.
  19. I am struggling to make it through Iron Fist... soon as I am done I will start on Defenders... As a guy that does not watch a lot of TV though, Superhero fatigue is starting to set in. I am starting to see some over saturation...
  20. I agree with CC... start off with a Silver Surfer movie from the perspective of the surfer... end the movie with the Surfer as the herald and bringing Galactus to Earth... have the Human Torch intercept in the credits... boom bring in the FF at a later date. Or... FFS just give it back to marvel.
