  1. The idea that there is a degree of insignificance is reasonable but then again I would like to see some consistency. For example, GI Joe 1 simply says, "Based on the Hasbro Toy Line". However, issue #21 states that it is the first appearance of Storm Shadow. There are plenty of issues in the Joe run note other first appearances. I would like to see GI Joe 1 at least remark that it is the first appearance of Snake Eyes at the minimum. Star Wars should have some similar notes.
  2. That is good advice for sure! Exactly Whaaaaaaaat?

  4. The first appearance is Quantum & Woody #1 from 1997, but there were two cover versions, a regular art and a "painted art". Since it was from Acclaim (post-Valiant), and after the industry crashed, and since it was "such a weird book", there are few Valiant collectors who considered Quantum & Woody as part of the Valiant universe (or as a "must-have" for their Valiant collections), especially before 2013. For almost 20 years, the value of Quantum & Woody #1 has been about $2 to $4 for the regular and about $3 to $5 for the painted. Neither of those values, plus the fact that the book was from Acclaim (but not "rare Acclaim"), has made Q&W "slab-worthy" when it comes to getting slabbed Valiant collections completed. The CGC census has a few listings for Quantum & Woody #1 (June 1997) because they spelled it both ways "Quantum & Woody" and "Quantum and Woody" and there is the painted variant (they just call "Variant Cover"). In total, there are about 8 copies graded, and another two copies of the Retailer Review, which was a black and white preview of Q & W #1. There are a few sellers who confuse Quantum & Woody #0 as a first issue, but #0 was about five months after #1. The Q & W trade paperbacks (1998, etc.) had very low print runs, maybe 3,000 or less... so collectors have actually paid a little more for those ($10 to $40, depending on which trade) and it's not surprising that they may also be on the CGC census. Yes, I have always been of the mindset that Quantum and Woody were outside the Valiant Universe so I never bothered to pick up their title in either incarnation.
  5. I know, that's why I posted it. Glad you thought so as well. I aspire to reach his level of greatness. It won't happen anytime soon, but eventually I will get there.
  6. I am happy to get some extra money for the things I do not want anymore. If I could make a living at this and it had a health plan I would. I would gladly trade off the aggravating scenarios I deal with on a routine basis as part of my real job in comparison to people asking me to box something up with some extra padding.
  7. That makes no sense. If I've shipped 5,000 packages in a row where the feedback states "Excellent packaging job!" then there's no reason for you to make the reminder. Sorry you feel that way. I disagree. My money - my friendly reminder to look out for my interests. If a seller feels that my purchase and request for secure shipping is that offensive they can refund me and I will shop in elsewhere. Shocker - I also sell on eBay and despite describing how I will ship in the listing I am often asked to provide secure shipping. It doesn't bother me like it does you. You. Are. Wrong. Here.
  8. Thing is that packing things correctly does not seem to be the norm so those who have not dealt with you do not know what to expect. Bullchit. That's what feedback, DSRs and feedback comments are for. My feedback is loaded with comments on how well I pack my comics and everything else I sell. All they have to do is look. Lazy bums. Chip, your rating is meaningless to me. Your deal was with them and not me. I just purchased a $600 item this morning from someone. Damn straight that I asked for it to be well protected. It's not laziness. It is called protecting my interests after too many bad experiences. Too often than not we see people on these boards saying that 'no one ever said anything before' or 'I always ship things out like this without a problem.' Why? if it comes damaged, just send it back. I will say that anyone that tells a very, very large seller, like mycomicshop, how to package a comic, looks foolish. its' like emailing domino's after you place an order and telling them how to make a pizza. There are certain things that are not so easily found. Books like Amazing Spider-man 300 and Deadpool 98 are much easier found than higher grade silver and golden age books. The worst is when it is original art and it arrives damaged as it is something that is irreplaceable.
  9. Very interesting story on the Solar 10 Clink 9.8 I am the reason the CLink book just popped. I got the full story as to what happened today. I was out on Friday night with a few people. I have been chasing a Solar 10 in 9.8 for awhile and always miss out due to being an underbidder or for being absent from the auction. I had set an alarm for when the bidding was about to finish. I think I set it for 10 minutes to go. I took to my phone and was bidding heavily on the book... almost as heavily as the drinks that people kept buying. I was into the book (without thinking) at a pretty high level as I was tired of losing and ended up being one of the underbidders even after throwing a "hail mary" bid in for it. The girl I was with was kind of annoyed that I wasn't paying attention to her at this point and at some point grabbed my phone and decided I needed 'this'. I learned my lesson. Phone was turned off for awhile after that. A fellow boardie knows some of that as he facetimed me while the girl and I were on a line for someplace else a little later... either way... that is how Solar 10 in a 9.8 popped on CLink... and how I ended up with a CGC autographed copy of Supergirl 1 for $110.

Anyone that takes umbrage at a polite request to be mindful of safe packaging needs to take a course in customer service. Good grief. Exactly

  13. No idea... BTW that scene where Luke is touching R2 is a flashback as he says goodbye to the droid.
  14. Force Awakens C-3PO is available... Thought about passing up on this but then realized that they only include figures in the polybags that do not have much of a chance of showing up anywhere else in "this" design. $9.99 shipped on eBay.
  15. I remember when you did that. You were fighting with everyone. To be fair, I believe that is because when Kav first joined everyone thought he was a shill for someone who had recently been banned.
  16. I am still waiting on the official rules so I can open the blog page. So until that happens then there are no points for you.
  17. So let me get this straight, you are nominating someone for a block list in regards to a transaction that you have had nothing to do with. Yup because the behavior is objectively foul. Buying a CGC sealed book and than asking for a return is obnoxious and deserves to be a basis for a block. I would want this block if I was another seller Moreover, if you and Kav want to defend buyers thats your choice. I am defending sellers. It's nice to have a cause. In the meantime have a snickers. Oh, and what might your eBay ID please? I would like to block you since my cousin's coworker's neighbor's sister has a friend who claims that they had a problem with you. FYI Buzzetta's eBay ID is ILOVEPHISHANDSELLMYSNEAKERS Which reminds me...
