  1. I'm up in the air on this cartoon. Some aspects look entertaining, but others... I dunno. I wish they went the route of the star wars cartoons as far as animation.
  2. Thanks, I liked Elvira as a kid and this Mag cover brings back memories of seeing campy horror movies on Saturday.
  3. I was wondering if anyone knows where Joe Jusko's cover for the Elvira Marvel Magazine cover is from 1988? Joe has it on CAF but it is long sold.
  4. Yep Hell-Rider. The Skywald magazine only lasted 2 issues. This was the cover to issue 3. 1 year after this the Friedrich, the creator, came up with another biker vigilante...Ghost Rider.
  5. Picked up this unpublished cover by Gray Morrow with the two prelims. Pretty cool to see his thought process. Before I put it in my CAF can anyone guess the book?
  6. Picked up this unpublished cover by Gray Morrow with the two prelims. Pretty cool to see his thought process. Can anyone guess the book? It is not in my CAF gallery yet.
  7. Just got back from the movie. I went in not sure whether it would be good or not. I didn't really keep up with the hype if there was any for this move. I have to say I truly enjoyed it. It seemed more human as compared to the spectacles before it. There was some nice character development for the most part. Overall it was funny and had a nice balance of action and destruction albeit on a smaller scale (no pun intended) My wife went into the movie thinking it would be dumb and came out enjoying it thinking it was good and funny movie.
  8. quote=ciorac]Pretty nice score my wife made at a garage sale. Cool books, but even cooler for me that she was the one that found them and bought them. There are some other X-Men in the stack, but these were the best of the bunch I never find comics at garage sales in my area. I used to 10+ years ago, but not now. Maybe I need to expand to Scottsdale
  9. It's only aabout a vf/vf+. A nice clean copy but enough spine stress and corner wear to knock it down. I need a nm copy still myself. I need a 11 in nm too. Its odd how certain issues like the 5 are easy in grade and others near impossible.
  10. Most just came in today, but there are a few others from the past couple weeks. Some upgrades some are doubles, triples, and quadruples etc. If I find higher grade copies of certain magazines I will buy them as fast as I can. I am very happy to get another VT 11 and Annual.
  11. I just don't buy art. Most just came in today, but there are a few others from the past couple weeks. Some upgrades some are doubles, triples, and quadruples etc.
  12. Bill you are on a roll with the art, you picked up some great items. I would recommend staying away from the magazine stuff.
  13. It looks like some jackwagon is trying to skew the auction results or at least make it look fishy.
  14. Thanks to Dan aka westform for selling this to me. The finished pencils to The rampaging Hulk 9. I grabbed another copy to go with it too.
  15. I picked up a high grade copy of this . To go with this. A big thanks to Dan aka westform for offering it up for sale. The original finished pencils for the cover.
  16. I just bought them all. He told me you were interested too.
  17. I typically don't discuss Marvel Mags as I have been buying as many as I can as cheap as I can. This as well as others are tough in high grade. This particular issue is considered a key for the series and commands a higher price due to speculation. I have a couple copies so it's okay to mention it
  18. You should ask him what else he has. He has an extremely impressive amount of art that is not seen.
  19. Cool stuff. I see Tom was there. Did he bring any of his Norems?
  20. One thing to remember about comics and the military. GIs had weight restriction when they moved. We use to see comics at "yard sales" all the time when a GI was transferred. We also found a ton of stuff in the trash as a result of the restrictions. There may have been a larger number than you might expect out there initially, but the survival rate was probably very low.
  21. Correct they stamped them as proof of purchase. I other examples of the numbers, but the Star Wars were in hand.
  22. Also there can be other Identifying marks besides stars on MJ inserts. Sorry for the crummy picture. These all have MJ inserts bought by me in Germany. Another example of no star and then here are several with a circle and a number. The numbers change. as seen in the pic.
  23. Based on this site base census the number of bases overseas ranged from 1014--794 from 1967 to 1988 with the number of bases decreasing (these figures do not include US bases) Lets assume all of these had a Stars and Stripes, BX, or some other store to buy periodicals. Now what was the typical newstand number of books ordered for each location? say 15-20 copies each You are looking at approx.10-20k books with MJ inserts. Its a pretty impressive amount.
