  1. Harley, HighGrade, Dave & Adam's, Metropolis, Victory, Tomorrow's Treasures that I remember. I can think of two dealers with good sized booths that had some nice GA but I don't know the names. I don't recall them being there before. There were quite a few more dealers with a variety of books.
  2. Thanks for this. That's the video I watched. Does he say at some point that the book is to benefit veterans? I don't think I can sit through it again to find out
  3. Really? Can you share anything that says that? The way the guy from Black Flag was talking in the now removed Facebook video, it seemed he just wanted to sell out so he didn't lose money. I don't remember him saying anything about veterans. If he really was doing this to benefit veterans I think he would have led with that. I admit I didn't watch the entire video but I think I watched the whole thing before he started to talk about Boston.
  4. I had a pretty good time. I thought the crowds each day were similar to last year. Kind of dead on Friday but good on Saturday and Sunday. Certainly not close to pre covid days but it's nice to be able to get through the aisles easier. Here's some pics. Sorry for the glare on the wall books
  5. It was. It worked a little while ago but it seems to be gone now
  6. Here's a Facebook link of the dude from black flag explaining himself if anyone's interested. I don't think he's helping his case here. Not sure if this is one of those "stories" that are only up for a limited time so hopefully it's viewable for a little while https://fb.watch/eLXoDMwxpQ/
  7. For anyone attending Friday, Elton John is playing at nearby Soldier Field so there will be street parking restrictions in the area. I think it starts one or two hours before an event (not sure what time the concert starts) and continues one or two hours after the event as well. If you get there early and are lucky enough to find a spot on the street be sure to check the signs. If you stay late your car could end up being towed. Traffic will probably be extra terrible on the way out Friday as well.
  8. You can't see any sign of the bottom staple from the front and nothing on the back except possibly the recesses the notes refer to. I'm pretty sure the staples are where the arrows point.
  9. That's what I was thinking. I suppose maybe it's a common graders note, just one I've never encountered.
  10. I don't have pics at the moment. I'll try to get them if I can. I should have probably done that first
  11. Does multiple staple recessed refer to the staples being pulled in to the spine, whereas they are difficult to see along the spine? I assume cover would still be attached unless noted. The note seems self explanatory but I've never seen it before and want to be sure.
  12. I have to say, I don't really care one way or the other about the custom character labels but this one works well with that book. Good luck with your sale!
  13. I thought that when I first saw this but I don't think these are the Bad Idea invisible comics. These are cracked out cases
  14. Since this has been going on for a while now, has anyone had to make a claim with collectinsure? I know for a package to be insured for shipping they require that the package be shipped with signature confirmation. But I wonder what they'll do if it was shipped that way but not signed for by the recipient and just left by the carrier. For me UPS is the only one that even rings the doorbell but they don't wait.
  15. Just picked this up at FanExpo Chicago. Mostly for the interior art
  16. That's terrible. It would have made more sense if you accidentally got the ASM label. But on the bright side it looks like they adjusted the FF label so The Thing doesn't get covered anymore so you got that going for ya
  17. I just stopped by to say thanks for this thread. The search function actually worked for once and I got all the info I needed right here! Maybe saved me from a bad purchase, that is if I ever get a response about the piece I was interested in
  18. I appreciate the help but that doesn't seem to show any additional info. I did get this resolved. I'm told there was a system error. The $110 was the winning bid and that's what now shows up when I view the listing. It's a little concerning though because if I had just gone to checkout instead of looking at the item listing I would not have known. Hopefully others don't get the same system error and end up paying the wrong price.
  19. Thanks for the help. I checked into this and the bid history only shows my bids, not all the bids on the item. I had been using my phone but I checked on my PC when I got home. When I go to the item page it shows up as Sold for $110 for a brief second (I grabbed a quick screen shot) and then changes to $135. It is odd. I got a DM from Micah at ComicConnect and will be looking into this
  20. I haven't won anything from comicconnect in a while so I was wondering if anyone has had this happen with their new website. It says I won the item for $110 and also says it sold for $135. My cart also says $135 I don't see any way to view the bids like you can on CLink. If there is, can someone please telll me how? There was no buyers premium on the item either. If there was it still wouldn't be $135. I did send them an email asking about it but I figured while I'm waiting for a response I would ask here
  21. What prominent members of the collecting community would ask for this?
  22. I purchased a Golden age book from Dan. I don't believe I've ever received only one raw book packed so well. Shipped super fast too! Looking forward to the next batch of books.
