  1. Unless it's been edited, I don't see anything saying "first gets it", or anything like that... so no?
  2. I'm sure you could find a way to make them look valuable, even if they turn out not to be. Seriously, do you have any idea what a fool you make yourself appear? You constantly talk about stepping back from selling (and in fact stepping back from the boards generally) and then follow it up with this sort of guff. stepping away from selling on the boards. and also i think my post has merit for others, its definitely food for thought. if defects are being seen across the run, and not in the variants. i know you don't like me, that's fine mate you've made it clear, there's no need to mar every thread i'm in. i think my reputation's got enough dirt on it without you digging it up and derailing every thread i post in. Digging up and derailing every thread you post in? Hardly. It's got nothing to do with liking or not liking you. Can't you see that posting about selling comics (or implying that you're going to) is just going to wind people up, especially after: Who cares whether you sell here or elsewhere? You'll no doubt be shilling your auctions again in no time. You've already said once, at great length, that you understood what you did was wrong - and then you went and did it again. I completely accept that you've got a right to post here, as you haven't been banned (yet). I'd just strongly advise that you stop even talking about selling. You are right about one thing though - this thread probably doesn't need any more derailing.

  4. the consignments wanted thread? Yes. That and the whole idea of running a consignment business for the forseeable future.
  5. OK, good. Then learn about comics and the industry, and do that by reading and chatting, asking questions and buying and selling. Don't try to jump right into selling on others' behalf with no experience or knowledge, offering to charge twice as much as people with decades of experience. You are in danger of making yourself a laughing stock with this consignment stuff, and since you appear to have good intentions and, by your own admission, a learning disability, I wouldn't like to see that happen. My strong advice to you is just to drop it entirely at this point.
  6. oh, I totally agree, but how many did you manage to snag. One of each cover - although I could have bought as many as I wanted (of the standard cover anyway). It's not very common at all for Forbidden Planet in London to be cleaned out of any book on the day of release - not a big one like this anyway. There were at least a couple of hundred on the shelves when I finally got there last Friday. Ok, I was a little worried you were one of those joining the ranks of the unsullied, glad to hear you picked up a few. As for the comment that the book was soon to become unreadable, I don't get that comment. There are Digital prints, both legal and illegal, the TPBs which collect a few volumes of the book, heck, if it's popular enough, a fan made motion comic on youtube. INACCESSIBLE would be the least of my concerns when it comes to readers. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're being serious: I was talking about this thread becoming unreadable, not the book.

  8. I'd just like to park this post here. It's from the original thread the OP posted soliciting commissions. If people haven't read it, perhaps they should. There's some genuinely good advice in this thread, but also a lot of making fun of the OP that perhaps should be reconsidered.
  9. Oh good. Another thread about a book with what looks to be a great story is on the verge of becoming unreadable. Maybe I'm in the minority - on the evidence of the posts so far, I am - but all this "how many copies are here, how many are there, how many have I bought, how many have you bought, should I buy more, it's a mini, oh that's weak, oh no it isn't a mini, bla bla bla"... is already getting tiresome. Most threads in the modern forum dedicated to specific books are just dominated by speculation chat or discussion about art prices, and I think that's a shame.
  10. You know what I don't like about the book? The lettering. I found it really distracting, the way it seemed way too small for the word balloons.
  11. Boo hoo. The poor speculators. I feel awful for them.
  12. +1 On a speculator view this will somehow be a bad investment but in a reader standpoint, I am enjpying the heck out of this one! A lot of people said the same thing about Saga. I don't know many people who passed over Saga. Heck there was a boardie page on it months before it came out. Its just not an accurate comparison. It is an accurate comparison. People may not have passed on it, but pre-release plenty of people were saying it wasn't going to be a successful speculator play because of the high print run.

  14. Oh, I agree with you. Frankly my interest in him changing his name back was the protection of the community rather than him somehow trying to salvage his reputation.
  15. I actually think this is a good move. In fact, I encouraged him to change his name back (not claiming that's why he did it, btw). If he's serious about taking his licks and being responsible etc. then he needs to stop trying to pretend to be someone else and own his past.
  16. What are you going to do with those extra copies if you're not selling anymore? Two are for friends, one for sig series one for blue. One reader. Course they are. Anyway, while you're here, care to comment on the shilling of the Spiderman Alex Ross cover on eBay? Or the fact you keep changing your name? Or the fact you're still trying to point people to your (shilled) eBay listings?
  17. I definitely read an interview with Aaron where he drew this parallel. Can't remember where though...
  18. Uh - wrong way round? I think you mean it's a privilige, not a right. Either way, you're correct: you shouldn't be selling here (or anywhere, ref the shilling). Correct. Those horses were really dead against you. I'll repeat my question though: why keep changing your name? If you're trying to take some semblance of responsibility for your actions, and "take your licks" then change back to Symbiotic. Anyway, I'll believe it when I see it re you stopping selling. Seem to recall that didn't last long last time round.
  19. you filed a paypal complaint without ever PM'ing me first, the MD1 was an oversight. i was under the impression that the $30 you requested to be refunded would be adequate restitution. i do admit i intended to send you the MD1 9.6, but as we know that is worth double the value of the original $30 we agreed upon for the raw, not including shipping and slab costs. so that was my reasoning for putting it on ebay, while still paying you in full what you had requested I pay to make up for my mistake. either way, its fine, you guys can keep me on the PL. i apologize to wolf pack for my behavior and to all those who supported me. Is $30 really worth alienating the community? Changing your name won't help, but settling an issue caused by your own carelessness would. This clown's reputation is beyond help, regardless of what he attempts to do to resolve this situation.
  20. whouffle, since you're reading this thread, I'd be interested to hear in your own words why you keep changing your name?
  21. Everything from Scalped down to All-New Doop seems to be being optioned these days anyway. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  22. Enjoy the read....full of "misquoted and manipulated" data The "Dream" Collection Uh... I just tried to click this link and my work filter blocked it as "pornography"...
  23. Perhaps not appropriate to krap a WTB thread, but HERE he quotes GPA that from what I can see bears no relationship with reality: Giant Size X-Men 1 CGC 6.5 "OFF WHITE" KEY BRONZE BOOK! GPA $530, MY PRICE $499 Giant Size X-Men 1 CGC 8.5 "OFF WHITE" KEY BRONZE BOOK! GPA $1050, MY PRICE $899 EDIT: I tell a lie, he's using the 2014 high sale as his marker for "GPA". 12 month average on a 6.5 is $434, and on an 8.5 is $759.
  24. Here's an image of the original version of that scene, Very good.
