  1. An excellent pickup, with both Howard & Lovecraft providing poems, Howard's poem featuring King Kull.
  2. Well said, Albert's work is amazing to behold. On a different note, were they the UK Ace Doubles or imported American editions? I've got a fairly decent collection of the US doubles but I've only seen scant reference to the UK versions... enough to know they sound fascinating.
  3. SORRY, STILL CAN’T HEAR YOU! There was only one Highlander movie. Period. End of story. Anyone who claims otherwise is misremembering. (It’s not impossible I feel far more strongly about the subject than I really should.)
  4. Highlander was a great movie with great music. It really surprises me that it was just one movie and nobody has ever tried to make a follow up. LA LA LA LA LA I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!!!!
  5. I think it’s safe to say there are nuances to the theatrical credits I didn’t pick up on at age 7, for all that the lyrics made an impact for some reason.
  6. How on earth do you get a Qualified .5? Would it be a NG otherwise?
  7. Music sticks in the memory like nothing else, that's for sure. At the risk of mentioning the competitor in this thread... I saw the Buck Rogers movie in the theater on original release when I was 7 or 8, then loved the TV show when it aired. I quickly forgot the opening credits were different in the theatrical version. But for some reason I remembered some of the lyrics to the theme song every time I saw the credits, even though the TV version didn't use them. It was something of a revelation when I saw the theatrical credits again decades later and went "oh, that's where that came from." Although I had reversed the line to "Who am I, What am I" in my head and to this day the actual version sounds odd to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BINijYepahA Youtube won't let the video embed... if you've never seen it it's one of the most late 70's things ever.
  8. Also, not Marvel, and the credits listed are all wrong, the date is wrong, and from what we can see it looks better than the assigned grade. Other than that it looks fine.
  9. Confusing barely covers it on that title. I have a couple earlier issues that I'll try to scan, back when it was Saturn Science Fiction. As compared to Saturn, Saturn Web Detective Stories, or Web Terror Stories. The series is legendarily bonkers.
  10. In today, courtesy of @wpbooks01. The Bijou is the last issue I need for the run, and is surprisingly scarce compared to the rest of the issues... I have no idea why it only had two printings, both fairly low quantity.
  11. Only that it's my third try to get a decent copy, it took me years of looking to find ANY copy. Then MCS screwed up on their listing, I suspect. I think they meant to call it an 8.0... which is pretty much the highest grade I ever see them give an unslabbed book... but it got listed as a 5.0. I grabbed it fast when I saw it. My undercopies. The Looney Tunes thread has dubbed the first one the "Sniffles chewed" copy.
  12. Don’t exaggerate. 20 pages tops, not 100. More seriously, you’re almost certainly right that it’s tied to them figuring out the direct editions going forward.
  13. RIP Aline Kominsky-Crumb: https://www.comicsbeat.com/rip-aline-kominsky-crumb/?amp
  14. The offer of a couple low-grade extra Help!s from me stands, but complete runs seem to be scarce on the ground. As I’ve mentioned, I think I’m the only forum regular who has claimed a full run in their personal collection.
  15. I might argue uniform 3 hole punch holes are appropriately considered a single major defect, albeit a discontinuous one. Not sure the graders see it that way, though.
  16. I don't love the holes, but definitely happy with the books overall!
  17. I think the most I ever paid for a Four Color was $75. Which, at the time, was the most I had ever paid for a comic. It’s looking like the me from 30 years ago made a good call.
  18. With that info, I’ll say around $18,500.
  19. Any idea what the last couple 9.8 sales were? Probably 1.5x - 2.5x that.
  20. Now that you mention that, @ADAMANTIUM, I think for me it most often occurs when I’ve had a page loaded for a while, and then try to react or reply. The thing is, it’s still there when I try to reload the page or open the homepage again for a few minutes.
  21. I see it 2-3 times a week, normally only a few minutes at a time
