Battle of the Golden Age Sci-fi Series

I've only got a couple early issues of Mystery in Space... but they're the issues with Frazetta and Finlay art, respectively. Two of the most beautifully drawn SF comics ever. Sorry I don't have a page from the story in #1 to share as well. -

A great quote, but you leave off what I consider the most important part: "Then draw the **** out of whatever's left!" -

I think the issue actually has a lot of room to move. I can see this becoming the AF 15 of pulps... relatively common compared to a lot of the other top tier books, but with one of the all time classic covers and the debut of one of the most famous characters.

Given that Frazetta inked a story in WS #22 it seems very possible.

I'm just happy I've got a nicely presenting copy with good page quality, even if the spine is totally gone. The book is so nice other than the spine that I wonder if it was in some sort of amateur bound volume at some point, where they just glued the book in at the spine.

And only a couple have really jumped in the super early bidding. The 1st Conan is already at $4400 and the high grade 1st Buck Rogers is at $950. Nothing else has really jumped in the early going, but it just started. https://www.comicconnect.com/browse/auction/18?sort_type=price_high

This is why I don't chase high grade copies. Yes, the high grade copies are stunningly beautiful and valuable. But I would rather have 10 or 100 books I can read than one I can't. -

Paging @Get Marwood & I... You've probably seen a stamp on this one already but I figure mentioning it couldn't hurt.

Also added Creepy 51, Eerie 48, and Vampirella 19 as each having miniature reproductions of earlier covers.
-
Small addition to the list: Vampirella #45 uses a bit of the Creepy #7 cover as background. Frazetta is correctly credited in the issue, but it took me a minute to figure out even knowing it was there:

Do we have any idea why that issue is going crazy? I can find decent looking raws of #1 cheaper on the bay...

It’s about half-way between Seattle and Portland. -
Just got a couple Creepy issues with Frazetta covers. Great books, well packaged, quick delivery, will happily buy from again!

Post Your FOUR COLOR Comic Covers Here

It took me years to track down the two Mary Jane & Sniffles issues; I think the word is getting somewhat out these days that they're surprisingly hard to find for issues in the 400's. -
I'll pound you to a "Pulp" if you don't show off yours!

I've got one like that, it was cheap so I kept it. Somebody had compiled all of "Pirates of Venus" by Burroughs in Argosy into a single volume. Pretty neat in its own way, even if part of me was screaming about the 6 pulps that were destroyed to make it. -
I don't deliberately get multiples of a book, but sometimes you just wind up with extras for one reason or the other. Agreed that I've got a few where I've upgraded a trashed original owner book but can't bring myself to get rid of the well-loved copy.
