  1. Hi Guys and Gals, For sale is a nice copy of Hulk 181 CGC 9.0 white pages, usual rules apply, payment is via paypal, if you're in the UK, we can do this in £'s and you're more than welcome to collect the book in person. Free shipping worldwide, no returns on this as it's pre graded by CGC, case is perfect. CGC Notes: Light multiple bend right top of back cover. Multiple stress lines, breaks color, rippling/warping front cover. Not sure, but from the notes, sounds like you might be able to press this and get a slightly higher grade. Asking for $6200 which is $200 below the current GPA, any questions please do ask, thanks herc
  2. I think the stickers sort of bleach the comic after time. It's the shape on the Jonah as well, looks like that of a sticker and that Cap 212 is so cool.
  3. I think that's a sticker mark, I have never seen a sticker mark leave it a darker color as opposed to lighter, unless, like the old Battle comic where the comic has faded over time or sunlight. But for a comic from the 80's, 70's, which I have seen so many times with stickers on, which I usually take the stickers off and noticed that certain colors are affected more than others, in particular red, orange are always yellow under the sticker. It does not usually affect black or white for some reason, but is different on other colors, two samples of books I just took stickers off of. They nearly always have the same shape as well. Also feel the part of the logo on the Jonah Hex, the paper sometimes has a different feel to the rest of the cover, almost like a dry greasy feeling ;-)
  4. I like CGC and CBCS, there's not usually issues like this to my knowledge. There were a lot of trimmed books missed by CGC over the years, JE and some other antique dealer form the UK, so it can be hard to tell in some cases, especially, as in these two cases when the person is so intent on trying to con the system. Has it ever happened that a book is designated trimmed, when in fact it's not been trimmed?
  5. The black bit at the top looks like just a random blob rather than a color touch, poorest of attempts otherwise. Well found Buzz on those dates, I feel for the guy who re-holdered it, he should have asked for it back and began enquiries :-(
  6. Well I'm not sure if the other companies book has been put into a CGC case or vice a versa. I know a little color touch can be removed, so could a tear seal, but a trim to my knowledge can not be fixed, unless it was not trimmed to begin with of course, as it does look slightly miss cut.
  7. Love that Action Comics 242, nice pick up. If you wanna sell or trade let me know ;-)
  8. Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere, could not see any topics about it, so sorry if it has been discussed already. I was just looking on comiclink and saw a restored Detective Comics 359 CGC 9.4 that sold for $869 and then two listings below it is the exact same copy in another label graded 9.2 unrestored and sold for just over 10K! Not sure which is the older slab and sold first, but that's a lot of money if the book is restored unless one company is right over the other. Not seen such a big difference between the two companies like this, especially when there's a possible 10K difference.
  9. I think that's an old sticker mark. I see this on a lot of comics over here in the UK, usually from Forbidden Planet and Dark They Were, as they used to put them on all their books. I had some the other day, Took the stickers off and quite often they leave discoloration marks like this.

  11. Just heard J.J. Abrams might be going to be head DC films? Please don't be true, he killed Star Trek, he ruined Star Wars, now, if this is true, he is going to kill DC ;-( It will all be as if it was his creation. He'll kill off half the characters, change the rest into how he thinks they should be and most likely have a Super Polar Bear as the main hero. Maybe it's time to sell those DC keys :-(
  12. Well. Tessa Thompson has already been complaining that she thinks it should not be called Men in Black, it should be Humans in Black, lmfao, so there goes that one Rock ;-)
  13. Yes a world view, but not a personal view, it anyone wants to do that, then they should do it with their own creations and try to make it into something and not jump on the back of a ready made success. It's like one of us being put in charge of DC films and then you trying to push your personal beliefs into the mix. Create your own franchise and do with it as you will. Don't try to change what others worked hard for and made successful, that's what dictators do, "they are wrong, I am right, what I say goes".
  14. Looks like someone is trying to put the sub categories back, but don't think they know what they're doing, as it's saying bronze age comics , but when you click on it, it shows you pretty much everything and another link to silver age, but shows the same stuff if you click that. If you list, you might have to reorganize them to the correct section, will still be a mess for a long time I think :-(
  15. Yes I agree, there are more women who collect comics now, but it's been primarily boys, men who collected them from the 1930's. I know there are more girl collectors of comics more than ever now, but the percentages are still more men are collecting them than women. What I don't like is people using comic films to try and push their personal beliefs across on everyone else. It should all be free from the BS we have in the real world, this is our escapism.
  16. Brie Larson round two ;-) I don't know how these people get into these positions, do they realize comic characters are fictional, they're meant to be fun, not used for your own personal gains, or political agendas, beliefs. QUOTE "it's funny people keep calling it The X-Men, there's a lot of female characters in that group, so I think it's outdated" go to 3:10 and you will see. It was created as the X-Men, duh. Just like when we say mankind, or is that another bad word now? Wonder if Marvel plan on changing the X-Men name to X-Women or X-Mutants.
  17. yes, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Wonder if they'll put all the coins and paper money in one section ;-)
  18. I was talking to one of the biggest sellers of comics, he said they have done this because they want us to see things in all categories and not just select categories like silver age. That way, we might buy other stuff, lol. No I will not, I just won't bother to look at all anymore, I did try to have a look earlier, there was lots of manga, British comics, British annuals, graphic novels, more manga, quite a few modern comics , quite a few cups, autobiographies, cook books and within the first four pages I found one bronze age comic, Black Goliath 4, lol.
  19. Can't believe what they have done over here, they have made it so that all the comics, graphic novels, manga are all in one section ;-( So I can no longer just click on the silver age section or bronze age section, you have to scroll through all the modern stuff among other things as well! What a joke, if you click on the silver age tab, it just keeps taking you around in circles. Was easy to use how it was before (up until this morning), newly listed, then I would pick between silver age, bronze age and browse.

  21. Hi Bob, I bought a few books off you, always good to see US dealers over here. As for what I was expecting, to be honest I was not expecting many comic dealers, until another comic dealer told me there would be lots of comic dealers there this year, as MCM was trying to get lots more of these types of sellers. So, that was I was let down, I got a few good deals though and it was good to see you again and meet Lon. I remember the US shows, back in the late 90's, every isle was full of back issue comic dealers (and modern), maybe that's a thing of the past now?
