  1. The Miracle Man?? So there it is....Marvel can sue Eclipse even after they changed the name from Marvelman...
  2. he said COMIC, not comics Err, well they were in order. So Watchmen 12.
  3. Watchmen 12, Daredevil 181, Preacher 14, Amazing Spider-Man 149, the David Boring story arc in Eightball by Clowes.
  4. ..and I wouldn't have it any other way. Here's a cover by... John Severin? Thoughts? Agreed on your comment...they're relatively cheap. This cover is atypical for Atlas war...not one of Severin's best, though. Those word balloons are too intrusive. It looks very much like a precursor to Sgt. Fury - that's what the code did to Atlas war books...made 'em lighter and more jokey...
  5. Brllliant and moody stuff - Atlas war books are hugely underrated and overlooked due to E.C. and DC's output from that era...
  6. Beautifully rendered cover, if somewhat more subtle than usual. Agatha "Slurl"?? Bizarre name...
  7. Fantastic books in unusually nice shape. Never seen those two sci-fi books in grade before...
  8. And let's not forget that great dealer from across the pond... www.goldustcomics.com
  9. $250 doesn't sound too bad... I was surprised that this book, with the cgc resto check and all, (I mean, this is not ewert-style territory, right?) did not climb a little higher. Killer ditko cover on that sucker. I've yet to check the cgc census and gpa, but I shudder to think at what a VF or better copy would go for. Annoyingly the only data on GPA about SSS 19 is the transaction on the 3.5 copy that you just bought.
  10. I got outbid on a VGF copy recently, the high bid being $250. So $180 for a decent VG seems reasonable...
  11. That's a very scarce book in grade, and scarcer than # 2. A grail for many pre-code collectors...congrats!
  12. Agreed - Guy is a great ebay seller and has offered impeccable service - he's a star. I hope he's changed his mind regarding quitting selling on ebay...
  13. Here's your second chance... http://cgi.ebay.com/GREAT-COMICS-1-CGC-N...1QQcmdZViewItem Well, what did I say. Looks like the book is indeed overpriced - no takers in 6 days...
  14. That book is fairly common, even in the NM range, so another one'll turn up at some point. It is a great cover, though.
  15. No. Then, she'd definately ask questions. Don't tell her about it.
  16. Great cover, nice colors!! Not an ebay purchase I assume.
  17. Excellent - finally got to read the story, in full. Beautiful stuff, and a great story with an unusual coda. Toth's notations are heavily self-critical (and scornful of others), but very interesting and entertaining nonetheless. Site bookmarked!
  18. This is where the boards are indispensible - I always wanted to read that story (after seeing an ad for that DC treasury in the late '70s) but never got round to it. Now I know...
  19. Yeah, that book looks definitely post-code - you're kind of wondering where the stamp has gone. Some of those post-code Atlas books are interesting (and possibly ripe for re-evaluation) as they could be sinister without ever portraying direct violence or death. A lot of them were just nebulous though...
