  1. I guess I could be way over-reacting, but come on...for a book I have at £275... New message from: matdav-75tt4b Hello Do you want to sell your comic book please consider im a single.parent and u can sponser a childs gift!! I can pay cash so no ebay fee And if securely packed can wait for the cheapest shipping as its been made clear what to buy doing the shopping on advance How about 225 us via paypal? Does that work its a lowball offer though be doing a good deed Let me know and thanks Have a great day!!! Something tells me I've heard this before somewhere....
  2. I've said it before, CGC should open a branch in the UK - it's a huge mostly untapped part of the market - if they don't consider UK grading to be a logistical possibility, I'd be happy to take submissions in for them and bulk freight them to Florida. They can pay me in submissions for my own books. After all, Darryl's pricing there is no cheaper than CGC's, it simply cuts down on the international shipping costs.
  3. You can fool some of the people some of the time...
  4. Great to finally meet you Leroy, and thanks for the deal !
  5. Of course, a two hour train ride north to us and you can browse our 60,000 + stock at your leisure - check out our site.
  6. The problem for us over here is the relative lack of space and consequential high retail rentals. Our shop in Leeds is only 600 square feet, and the rent is £20K a year. We don't have the space available to display back issues. Imagine how much it would cost in London. I visited Brian Peets' A-1 store a few years ago - a whole bank full of stuff. I'd love to do something like that, but it's just too expensive over here. Check out 30th Century Comics by Putney Bridge, they have a reasonable selection of stuff there.
  7. Where is it listed? Or is it just private offers? Yes, where is it listed ?
  8. In my mailbox Richard. Book was graded 2 days ago. CBCS send you the mail alerts ?
  9. Bingo ! "New message from: stujamw1971 Hi I'm so sorry my autistic son got hold of my tablet and bid for this and didn't realise that he had bought it ,if possible could I cancel it please as it is not needed and he's not even old enough to read this comic Sorry for the trouble and I would greatly appreciate it" I do think it's a terrible thing to use disability (genuine or not as an excuse for your failings as a human being. Funny how his son can't read, but he can click on Make Offer, then figure out a reasonable (25% in this case) discount off the price of a book is, and manage to hit the submit button....his son's reading is obviously better than the guy's lie-inventing...tool.
  10. Great to buy a Tec 400 from Matt for a good price, plus very reasonable but still fast shipping to the UK - an excellent transaction !
  11. That's the one Sparkle sold a couple of weeks ago. Scam.
  12. I can't recommend Dan enough, a perfect transaction on a WBN # 32, with really fast shipping. Many thanks, Richard
  13. Can't fault Jerry at all, he said he was a "novice at international shipping", but everything went totally smoothly and the book arrived very quickly, packed just great - a keeper for my collection for sure, thanks Jerry !
  14. Eddie from Passaic gave me my first really big deal - 10000 mostly high grade bronze age and Warren mags for a dollar and a quarter apiece - on credit no less. He ended up selling loads to Gary Dolgoff as well as me, finally shifting the bulk to some new fangled internet type dealer I was told, then sold the building off too. I certainly owe that guy a lot.
  15. Empathy and logic indeed - here's my latest - on Saturday, someone hits BIN on five Joker books all in nice shape, and straight away sends an invoice request for combined shipping. I send it back totaling £121. Fully two days later, I get this : " New message from: kazzaembleton i cant afford that, made a mistake which does happen. i dont think the comics are worth that amount. sorry but i am not paying that " So, hitting BIN five times and confirming five times is a mistake - what, like getting up in the morning, and putting your panties on inside out five days in a row ? Awesome.
  16. That's just about the worst one I've ever heard...
  17. We stock them - let me know what size and quantity you want and I'll get you a price.
  18. What a great seller Dave is - bomb-proof packaging, super quick delivery partially at his own expense, and he cleared up a mistake with the payment that I made. A true gentleman indeed - many thanks to you Dave !
  19. that's for sure. They are human at CGC . Goes to show you that it is wise to know your comics...front to back. It was graded July 2000. I suppose it is very possible that Borock & company didn't miss it but the error was that it didn't get typed onto the label..? We have seen errors on labels before. Buy the book not the label. Wrongly grade attributed too. Wrong back cover is certainly NOT a 8.0. When I asked Matt about getting a back cover for my All Star 3, he told me categorically that wrong back cover would result in 0.5.
  20. A really good deal from Alex, and quick international postage too - very happy (thumbs u
