  1. Interesting...the 8.5 has less resto, both are trimmed...have any other copies sold in between these two sales ? I thought bidding was a bit slow on the 8.5 before the final throes...
  2. $250K for the Action # 1 6.5 ? A pretty big jump after the last 8.5 went for $261K in August...
  3. $230 K ish. Is this the CLink copy from five years ago that went for $130 K ?
  4. You should have seen the 'warehouse' shelving in the back of the store...fifteen feet high, and over a million books. I bought about 75 long boxes full for $1.25 a book in 1999...great days.
  5. CGC's Purple Label of death denoting restoration - not anathema to me of course.
  6. I remember that auction Ankur...I kicked myself for years until this...more than twice as much...
  7. Having problems when taking scans of Golden Age books - does anyone have any tips ? I'm using a Mictotek i800plus scanner with Vuescan Pro.
  8. Oh yes, it was clearly stated as having amateur resto...
  9. Self-importance is the new fashion these days...
  10. Once again...we do not have import taxes on comic books brought into the UK. People are being falsely charged by UK customs or the mail carriers, and this is all recoverable.
  11. I sold Wong a Batman # 189 - he paid straight away, and the transaction went totally smoothly
  12. I'm pleased to say that I was the buyer on the HA 7.5 copy and I'm very much looking forward to seeing it in person...never thought I'd get one.
  13. The Ian Levine thread keeps coming back...I strangely kind of miss him.
  14. Just seen these end on ebay... https://www.ebay.com/itm/ALL-STAR-COMICS-8-CGC-9-0-1941-ORIG-1ST-APP-WONDER-WOMAN-/292687688375?hash=item44258bb2b7%3Ag%3A8j0AAOSwsvZbeR9u&nma=true&si=sdlX2m8s28%2BkvLW58xy8h40nxcQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/ALL-STAR-COMICS-8-CGC-4-5-CR-OW-PAGES-/292687692617?hash=item44258bc349%3Ag%3ACvAAAOSwHXtbeSDU&nma=true&si=sdlX2m8s28%2BkvLW58xy8h40nxcQ%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 both from the same seller.
  15. Joe's a great guy, even for an Eagles fan. I've done a lot of business with him the last ten years, looking forward to seeing him again in CHI.
  16. I contacted him some years ago when I was trying to finish the run, and he told me that had about 20 or so full runs, and wouldn't sell any of them. You know what they say...patience is a virtue !
  17. You see, this is what I take issue with. I have found numerous examples of books getting worse in the slab...I sold a 7.0 Iron Man # 1 to a friend. He cracked it out, and the spine completely split - it does happen.
  18. I have to say I don't quite understand why people care what the label says...to me, I'm more concerned about the book itself...I would restore...it's only going to get worse otherwise eventually.
