It was a BIG pretzel.

I met some of them at their lodge in Stowe VT about two years ago. And by "met" I mean I ate a pretzel and drank a bunch of Trapp Ale.

Wizard was the only way I stayed up to date on industry news back in the pre internet days. I looked forward to it every month and ate up every last goofy article, Jim Balent profile, and ridiculous top ten biggest boobs in comics special report. I acknowledge the ridiculousness of it now, including the downstream damage caused by its make-believe price guide, but I still look upon it with nostalgia.

Why is that confusing?

Take 10% off the Contact 3. That's one of the tougher issues from that run. The black Cole covers seem to be the most hoarded, in my experience.

If I at least added "CGC it" I would have taken a step in the right direction.

I once sold a Tim Sale Batman CGC 9.8 Signature Series sketch via auction, back when even his quick sketches sold for a couple hundred bucks, and forgot to mention "CGC" or "Signature Series" or "sketch" anywhere in the fricken listing. I think I titled it like, "Tim Sale Batman Original". Sold for about $15.

Wow. I don't know what you sold that for but there is a page from ST 53 at auction on eBay right now quickly approaching five figures. Several years ago I sold the original art for the cover to Speakeasy 68, which I had bought from Totleben directly in 1998 or so, for way too cheap. I made some desperation sales when my wife got pregnant with our first kid. A little panic selling before I regained my senses. Oh how I wish I could get that back.

I, for one, am shocked.

PL 14 is often taken as a cover by Baker. How can someone look at that cover and see Baker? It's baffling. And once that doubt is cast, it's not hard to start looking at the remainder of the PL covers and realize that Baker had a cursory hand in them, at most.

Maybe Baker leaned over Kamen's shoulder and gave him some pointers while Jack was drawing all the PL covers.
