  1. Matt, I have just the solution for this.
  2. This one is somewhat nuanced, as there is an inherent level of good faith trust when buying a lot based on sample pics. Ideally there would have been either a list of books or at the least a specified number of books before the transaction closed. With that said, there is a generally accepted standard for what constitutes a long box of comics and that was clearly not delivered.
  3. Takes: First takeit in the thread wins and immediately trumps all ongoing PM negotiations. I reserve the right to overrule takes in the event that a PM deal is concluded and I hadn't yet had a chance to mark an item sold. Any variation of "takeit" counts. Please do not edit takeits and please do not commit to buy unless you intend to follow through. Payment: Zelle, Check or MO preferred. Paypal or Venmo we can discuss. Who can buy: No Hall of Shamers or Probies, or anyone on my personal list. Shipping: Included in the US. International at cost. Returns: Three days' return shipping from receipt. Buyer is responsible for shipping cost back unless item was damaged in transit.
  4. Totally. One of his great (or greatest) strength(s) was the ability to capture a moment, a space where the viewer's imagination fills in all of the possibilities of what might be, that is far more interesting than the actual telling of that story. In many ways, this is why I have chased after certain Golden Age cover artists, such as Frazetta, LB Cole and Matt Baker. A single cover image evokes more story than what actually exists between the covers. On the flip side, the new Death Dealer by Opus read, to me, like poorly conceived Conan fan fiction.
  5. I bet they pay Tuesday of next week, after the current weekly auction ends.
  6. Just got notification of a non-paying bidder. I wasn't overly thrilled with the hammer price so hopefully this will work out better for me.
  7. Space Usagi hardcover. Signed, sketched and numbered by Stan Sakai. This is number 284 of 500. Pretty cool sketch. Book is NM. Dustjacket has a corner crunch on the back. $200. SOLD

  9. Yes they will grade it but I recommend dry cleaning before submitting.
  10. Cinderella Love 27 > 25 Going Steady 12 > all other romance covers
  11. I enjoyed it. It's still a comics focused show. I only saw one cosplayer.
  12. Swamp Thing 1. Movie! JAMES GUNN!! OMFG!!! VG-. Top staple popped. $100 $80 shipped.
  13. Speaking of, there was one dealer discussing with another how he couldn't sell an ASM 129 because the current fair market value is lower than what he paid for the book. He, therefore, has no choice but to hold out to get his price. I guess that's the balance dealers will need to decide for themselves: profitability versus inventory turn.
