Does anyone know what issue of Diamond Previews The Walking Dead was in prior to its release in 2003?
August 2003. Credit goes to maloney414 for the pics.

Thanks! I really love looking at this book. The cover is just so pretty.

Really? I guess ebay is still doing free listings.
Would love to know what the offer it has on it was. Probably a $5 joke offer...

Raw, a nice NM would probably set you back about $20. CGC 9.8 price is closer to $80-100. These are my impressions, your mileage may vary.
5 days later....
and hrm
It's great to see another book doing well due to the content, and content alone.

Marvel Preview #4 seems to be doing pretty well.
What are peoples predictions for the popularity of Star-Lord (the character)?
Could he become a household name?
It's always possible that the movie could be extremely popular with Starlord as a breakaway character, the chances are pretty slim though.
Yeah, I think you're right. It'll also be interesting to see if there's much of a spike around the time GOTG #1 (Now) comes out.
He's pretty prominent on the cover of #1 and it makes me wonder what Marvel/Bendis has in store for this guy.

Saga is certainly getting a lot of love and attention at the moment, and rightly so.
People say that the print run is high, but I don't think it's as high as it would have been if it had come out at the end of the 2012 rather than the beginning.

Did I pull a Homer by buying this book recently?Marvel Preview #7 is heating up:I picked up a couple of copies a few months ago for 7 bucks a piece. Needless to say, they won't be mine for much longer.
That books been hot for a few months. Its harder to find so very good find.
Also find a Hulk 271 in the dollar bin and you will make an easy $20-30 depending on grade.
It sure is a pretty book ...I'll probably hold on to one of the lower grade copies I have...just to look at.

I've been doing just that
I really don't understand the Hulk #271 thing... It's common as dirt, Rocket Raccoon isn't what I would call a major character and it's not even his first appearance.
Edit: In fact, I literally just got one in the mail

The whole ASM Dying Wish arc is going for 60 $ link
that looks like some SERIOUS shilling. it's just one guy with 0 feedback driving it up.
Possibly.... In any case, someone with decent feedback was willing to pay $119 for the set

Personally I couldn't care less for Rocket Raccoon.
Rocket Raccoon sucks . /cartmanvoice

Really looking forward to seeing the order numbers for #8. That's when we should see the full effect (in terms of orders) of the first TPB.
-
It's amazing to see the 3rd printing starting to bring some money. I picked one up for like 8 bucks at the start of the year.
I'm wondering whether it's time to sell (I have a 2nd) or maybe wait for a bit longer??

mine
and the cover I prefer, another of carmine's HUGE character pages
A plugged nickel...

Great deals on both of those Bats 222 copies. Guess I better start paying attention to their auctions?
These were just straight sales, as listed by MCS.

Is it possible for saga # 1 to ever hit say 500 bucks in cgc 9.8 like chew has even tho is has a print run of 34,000?
I've been wondering about this type of question lately.
The print run isn't really a problem per se. It's demand you need. A lot of it.

Scary.

Nope, sorry. I was hunting for one a few months ago. I contacted a seller on ebay who had a massive lot of Diamond Previews for sale and asked if I could buy the August, 2003 edition separately. We never came to a deal but that might be a way to do it if the chance presents itself.
Otherwise, they're tough to find. Those magazines aren't really treated as collectors items and are often trashed or forgotten about.
Good luck with it
