  1. I have a creator who is willing to sign books and do a sketch cover for me, but I'm not going to be at any show he's attending. What is the best thing for me to do? I do not want to have to travel to secure the items and would like to avoid a green label CGC. Please PM me for more details. I am very appreciative of any advice you may be willing to share.
  2. At least 102, but maybe somewhere between 98 and 102. There's been a lot of discussion about this, but no real consensus.
  3. I like the idea of a CGC Boards variant. If there is anything I can do to help get this done, please PM me.
  4. It is an awesome read and if I didn't have a copy I would be happy to spend $10 to $15 for the first issue. I'm confident that you will not be disappointed.
  5. I'm going to purchase issue one so it can hang next to my commission piece from a few years back. Hey look at that, today is my 10 year anniversary. Best April Fools Day Joke of the year! Also, I did't know that Walking Dead for kids is that bad of an idea. Obviously the content would have to be edited for children, but I think it would be a fun Sunday morning cartoon
  6. Your answer is here www.ebay.com Well I have seen the sets going for less than that, but when you can't see the books until they ship it's more of a risk. These I will be able to inspect prior to purchase, so I figured I would get a feel from the board about a high grade run since I felt it would be worth it..... You better make sure that it's not Walking Dead Weekly.
  7. Why are Amazing Spiderman 606 and 607 hot? Is the regional variant of 606 hotter than the regular issue? Is there some large plot development or first appearnce? Thanks!
  8. The first Miles Morales in Ultimate Fallout 4 is a hot book. I haven't seen a CGC 9.8 in a long, long time. I don't know what it's going for as a CGC 9.8, but I imagine that if the price is close to reasonable it's going to be a quick sale.
  9. yeah ... I was hoping someone catch that and would laugh and it would lighten the mood, and we could talk about the book and stop venting about our collective angst but it didn't work at all.
  10. Yes I am. I loved the first issue and can't wait for the next issue. As I said earlier, one of the things that hasn't been discussed about the first issue is how funny it was. I thought that it was almost as funny as some of the hilarious Y the Last Man issues and almost every issue of Y the Last Man had great humor. This is one thing that I find that a lot of self important science fiction fails to do. Epic science fiction too often suffers from the writers laBKV ck of humor which I imagine is often a product of its own inflated sense of self importance. The TV head robot sex was hilarious. I thought this was an exceptional comic. It's genius was that there is emotional romance (romio/juliet), there's an intelligent political critique that is forming, there are very relatable characters with great dialogue, there's tv family drama in the characters which reminds me of Star Wars's Han Solo dialogue, then there's these amazing characters (the bounty hunter is just awesome) and I"m hooked. This is one of the few comics that I read that made me want to read the next book and the next ten after that. Plus Fiona Staples is perfect for this book. My only complaint is that she makes pages on her computer and I can't buy OA. I really like the comment above about Hazel's statement "only one man disappointed me." I hate to speculate about future plot developments after only a single issue, but in ligth of how BKV depicts family conflict, her father may be the one man who disappoints him. I have heard that BKV does not want this book to be a film or movie (I don't know if he's committed to that because of Hollywood's failure to transform Y the Last Man into a film or what, but I was sad about that. I think this would translate into an awesome TV series on Showtime or HBO, but I'm obviously way, way ahead of myself insofar as we've only had one issue to enjoy. It's a testament to the quality of the work that after reading one (extra large) issue you get a feeling of familiarity with characters that often takes 6-12 issues with a good or even some really good or great comics. Those are some of my thoughts. I'm probably going to read it again before the second issue comes out and that is not something I ever do.

  12. Rob's eggs are what makes a great comic one of my favorite comics of all time. I hope that Showtime gets the pilot made and that Rob and John make the fortune they deserve for the work that gives us all so much enjoyment.
  13. Image made Saga issues 1, 2 and 3 fully returnable! Rich (bleeding cool):Marvel and DC use a number of incentives, it seems, from partial returnability, to added discounts, to tiered variant covers. What can you do more to persuade retailers to stock these books in depth initially? Eric Stephenson (executive/publisher): We do, Rich. We offer all kinds of incentives. Since the beginning of this year, retailers have been able to order the first three issues of a variety of our 2012 books and qualify for full returnability. We did that with Fatale, we did that with Saga, Thief of Thieves, Manhattan Projects… We’ve been offering added discounts for years, and good retailers definitely take advantage of those things. http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/03/30/the-bleeding-i-talking-with-eric-stephenson-about-image-selling-out/

  15. Not even the gov first apperance (thumbs u It's the 2nd pg he appears on..but it is the first page him and Michonne appear on I hope that was disclosed in the advertisement or the seller may have a problem collecting his money.
  16. I wonder if the 9.9s were pressed or otherwise restored (for lack of a better term)?
  17. Wow ... I missed that on ebay? I only sent a personal copy in but have about 10 raw I was waiting for the print run b/c I'm scared my instincts are wrong and people speculated like crazy on the book. You care to weigh in on the print run? I would love to catch Vaughan and Staples at a CGC signing! Anyone know when they are doing one in the future?
  18. Threes's almost 50 people slingin #1s on eBay in less than a month. I'm increasingly interested in the print run. I keep going back & forth on what I think the number's going to be. I hope its under 25k.
  19. With Thief of Thieves 1 CGC 9.8 selling for $70 - $80 on ebay, does anyone want to predict what Saga 1 CGC 9.8 will open at?
  20. Yep. 27, Skullkickers, Viking... cautionary tales all. Ultimately, for the books to be lasting hot, they have to filter their way into collections, and out of the hands of speculators with multiples. +1
  21. What is a sucessful comic is hard explain. It's kind of like pornography, you know it when you see it. If I had to define sucess for a title I think there's two kinds (1) Economic sucess - makes money for the creators and publishers that they are happy with. In terms of an image title, I would say that a 15K a month print run is a grand slam. (2) Noneconomic sucess - making a product that readers enjoy and that satisfies the creators personal artistic desire. I know those are far, far from perfect, but it's late and I've had a long day.
