  1. i'd pay $2 shipped for a #1. seriously, if a went out and paid $10 for one copy of #1 of every independent comic that they announced a movie was "in development" i'd be in the poor house. this is already the second go round for this thing- that's one Hamilton up in flames. Riley Rossmo is from the same city I am in. That book was so over-ordered here a lot of stores still have the floppies stocked. I think the $2 shipped is a fair assessment. There's 8,375 copies of #1 printed ... doesn't sound like it was over ordered ? http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2009/2009-10.html

That doesn't mean that the comic isn't gonig to keep burning up on ebay or answer my question about whether or not it's a good book or not? Anyone actually read this series? I"ve heard good things, but never got around to reading it. Any advice about the quality of the title/read? Thanks!
  3. Cowboy ninja viking has all but disappeared from ebay after the news that Universal may adapt it to the screen. I have not read this title and would appreciate any insight anyone is willing to share about it and its actual value as a raw nm/mint and/or CGC 9.6/9.8. Thanks in advance.
  4. I don't get this at all either. I understand that, all things being equal, most seem to prefer the Beauty cover (though I think they are both pretty awesome). Regardless, though, things are NOT equal. Only thing I can fathom is that it's just not common knowledge yet (and I haven't seen any seller make mention of the disparity in print run yet). If the book remains hot, I fully expect the Beast cover to be selling for more than Beauty before long. Beast cover seems like a steal right now at $10 when Beauty routinely sells for $20+. +1 although I'm disgusted by the vast majority of raw books I pick up on eBay ... I've never seen , let alone been the victim, of so much fraud in my life. Everything I buy on eBay arrives in bad shape. It's ridiculous trying to buy a hot book in good condition. Some times I think people just unload there banged up books on eBay knowing that it isn't worth the time to fight back. Sellers that dont know how to pack by now shipping comics on ebay is disgraceful. Everyonce in awhile you cant avoid it, but if its happening that much thats unreal. Of course if you are buying NM and think you will get NM+ or better thats another matter too. I'll give you a good example ... I picked up 10 copies of Luther Strode #1 ... Each of the six I've got so far had nasty spine creases, one had a cover dent & one had a corner that was mashed in. My problem isl that I'll often buy multiple copies of hot books before the CGC copies come back so I think I'm getting what's left on tge rack after everyone at the LCS has pulled the NM copies ... I'm going to try and stop buying off eBay and start buying here.

  6. I'm interested in why people continue to believe cover A (beauty) will outsell and remain more popular with half the number of issues. I can't think of one issue that supports this line of thinking. It would be different if cover B (beast) was a 2nd print.
  7. I'm curious what spidey comics , if any, will/are heating up in anticipation of the new film. I've seen some interest in the death of Gwenn Stacey. Any other issues seeing any heat?
  8. I hate to admit it, but it looks like the Vengeance of Bane is the hottest comic in America. I can't believe how many of these comics have sold in the last two months and the prices that even lower grade CGC copies are pulling in. If there's a 100k copies of this issue then there still may not be enough to satisfy the demand if the 3rd film is as good as the first two.
  9. Jealous. Hopefully I get to do that next year.. I hope those two appreciate how much you support the market for their back issues! Who? Me? you.

  11. Luther Strode 1 is finally starting to get bought up on ebay. It's still not commanding what I think it should but it's becoming harder and harder to find copies of issue #1. For those of you that enjoy Chew, Invincible, Kick and Ultimate Spiderman, I encourage you to check out this book. It is a great read with awesome art and top notch dialogue. My 2 cents.
  12. I'm actually concerned about the same thing.
  13. I thought it was funny that there was "controversy" over the breast feeding picture. I know some people take exception to the use of birth control, but comics usually don't have to worry about being PC or that kind of nonsense.

  15. I'm excited about Saga, Secret, America's Got Powers, Hell Yeah and Manhattan Projects (in no specific order).
  16. Any idea what the print run was on the two platinums ... I'm pretty sure I have a couple copies of each of the platinums somewhere. Like everyone else, I have more copies of the regular issues than I should and would like to forget that I didn't sell them way back when they were going for top dollar.
  17. What do CGC Superman 75's sell for and does anyone know what kind of print run there was on these books. I have a couple of them for sure. It would probably take me a long time to dig through my old collection to find them, but if it is worth the time I'd love to know. Thanks for any info you can share. Also is there a platinum return of superman. I feel like I have a couple copies of both. Did the Death have a silver bleeding S crest on the cover/bag and the Return have a solid silver S crest on the cover/bag?
  18. Is Alpha Girl 1 good or bad read/art? My LCS was supposed to have ordered me 5 copies but I still haven't seen them even after I was assured that there was some error by Diamond. I really hate to spend more than cover for that book and then find out that its not a good read and that the art is subpar. Thanks for the insight.
  19. Anyone know how many copies were printed of the platinum issues? I read that there was a 1000 issue run but that seemed small?
  20. I'm suprised that there isn't more interest in Batwoman. I didn't really appreciate it, but I thought that there would be a lot more interest in a Bat title with lesbian lead character. Anyone think this title or 52 7 or 11 will ever heat up?
  21. you can't compare Fatale to Criminal just because they have the same artist/writer...Fatale has a horror theme and there are tons of horror/cthulhu/lovecraft/poe fans out there...that's a whole different ball game than a straight crime comic. I think its fair to make some comparison particularly when Criminal has some heat because of the rumored Movie deal ... it could also mean that there will be increasing interest in criminal by speculators and collectors.
