  1. My daughter read The Outsiders in school just a few years ago. I don't think I'd mind a voyage on the good ship Nautipuss
  2. I'm done watching - I've seen some comebacks, but it's just not gonna happen.
  3. Go ahead, maybe give a recommend on title or two (reading wise). This is an author I've never heard of - which is weird given the long frickin list at his wiki. That sleaze life, I guess I surely doubt Jimbo minds extra eyes on his sales thread (I know there are some good books left).
  4. I love the cross of HPL with the schizo psychedelic colors. Makes me wonder if the graphics might have influenced the look of this one: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_Out_of_Space_(film)
  5. Gorgeous, Jimbo A 9.0 Film Fun is absolutely remarkable (not to mention that's an incredible Bolles). The Nugget's cool as a key and has seen the valuation skyrocket with Baker fans in the mix - I'm on the look out for a scanning copy, but the f*ckin' Baker fans... Is the Playboy the one with Bettie wearing only a Santa hat?
  6. Cheers, Jimbo, I really like it. Here's a similar one (not my copy, I wish it was), the first he did for The Popular Magazine for Street & Smith. He did a good number of covers for that title and also on New Story during the same time period. His Popular issues are hard to find (besides the fact that most single issues from the early pulp years are tough)
  7. That Headline Detective is stunning. Bolles Georges Pavis
  8. The bookshelves are immaculate, but throw 15 guitars in a closet and shut the door, and all is well with the world
  9. New one, I forget which one of you hooligans inspired me to buy it. A nice mix of presentation/affordability cuz I bought it to read. Fletcher Flora is a recent fascination, and I'm not sure if I like him yet or if I just think he's a twisted . Looking for a little biography, I've just learned he's a fellow Jayhawk, wild. Also a fellow Jayhawk, another excellent writer of noir, Daniel Woodrell. I gave my copy of Give us a Kiss to my little bro, my favorite but likely not his best, (paperback) by Daniel Woodrell but am gonna take this opportunity to pick up the HC while I'm thinking about it. Why I always give my copy to fam or friends after I really like a book I don't know cuz they almost never make their way back I do have this one at hand tho - I kind of like the design, lots of reds and the state of Misery in the back ground.
  10. Woowee, Killer. The author is Don Rico, who most of us know better from his comics. I stuck a woodprint of his up recently at Flickr. He worked for Victor Fox, Lev Gleason, Martin Goodman, the Fawcetts and probably others I don't know about. Nikki here was his first paperback of 18 Wiki has listed.
  11. Absolutely gorgeous. I was a bit surprised to see it's Paul Stahr (who I know from Argosy). I didn't realize he did paperback covers. My fave in the sale. The buyer has good taste.
  12. I've got an Antique Trader guide for magazines, not much to it, but some decent info.
  13. I like Gruber a lot. His Pulp Jungle is a killer look at life as a pulp writer - evading the management in cheap hotels while you wait for your next story to sell, surviving on the cheapest foods to be found in NY at the time, etc. Many insights on other pulp writers in there as well: https://archive.org/details/gruber-frank-the-pulp-jungle-1967
  14. Woowee, some ghosty books on that list. I'm not surprised, Canadian stuffs, geez. I did come across a fairly common oddity, though, a couple of books in the Superior Reprint line that have dustjackets. PAPERBACKS WITH DUSTJACKETS. Huh? Are there other examples of publishers doing this?
  15. Ah, thanks, gentlemen. I've been given a list via an io group that seems to be about some hardcore sort of paperback indexing. It'd definitely be nice to have a place for paperbacks like the Fictionmags Index for magazines (I'm a regular contributor) or the GCD (if there's a more user unfriendly system for entering data, I haven't encountered it, but I do have a guy that'll index my scans for me, lol). Bookscans does look like it has some barebones info for most series, though, hadn't really looked around at it much til now. Don't get me started on itty bitty thumbnails I'm guessing this is just the list of digests. I'm also seeing what looks to be a "Superior Reprint" series as well Anonymous - Cartoon Parade. 16. I feel like I know my way around comics and magazines pretty well, but these paperbacks give me fits. Is there some place I can find a list of Superior paperbacks like the one above?
