Greg,
I thought we had a deal!!! You’re supposed to inform me when there’s an auction that’s gonna fly under the radar Before the Auction ends 🤦🏻♂️.
That auction strikes me as an anomaly- I’ve seen some awesome mags fly under the radar at HA - looks like this grouping was one of them. Hope it was a boardie 👍🏻, but dang, Greg!- look alive man- do your job 😂🤪Maybe Greg, himself, won the trifecta?

I'm more than a little concerned that the humidification of books before pressing, might be the cause of some of the rusty staples we've been seeing?

Thank you
Hello @Artifiction
There is a series called Weird Worlds
If this is the series you would like a set made, please provide a list of issues you would like added with certificate numbers.
Thanks!

Well, after further review, I think I can say that I am one lucky man... because these beaches are HAWT!!!
I can't believe they sat there on eeBay for as long as they did, but I guess people who were interested in Vampirellas already had some and didn't want to buy a full run at once--or they were sketched out by not having individual pics of the books maybe. From the group pics provided, the seller's description of "mostly FN to VF" appeared to be reasonable, so I took a chance and trusted that--and boy, I'm glad I rolled the dice!
I think he seriously undersold a lot of these. Maybe he just didn't know what he had? I mean, I thought the CREEPY collection was pretty nice--"mostly FN to VF" anyway--and it is--but man, there are whole runs of this Vampi collection that are literally too nice to read. I mean, I feel like I could carefully read a 6.0, 7.0, maybe even an 8.0, and not reduce it's value--but there are RUNS of these books that look like they deserve to be slabbed in the low- to mid-9 grades and look pretty for posterity, that's how nice they are.
Now maybe I'm just looking with buyer's eyes--and I don't want to spoil the upcoming Gallery that I'm sure I will create for these masterpieces--but here are a few that I think compare favorably with some of the slabbed copies of the same issues posted in the "Show 'Em Off" thread.
Tell me if I'm delusional.
Those are beautiful looking copies, Axe. Congratulations!

I'm hooked deep on the Skywald and Eerie Pubs. books. Me thinks there's something very special about them. I can hear them calling me.

Those Psycho's are sweet, where did you get them? They rarely show up in that sort of shape in the UK.
Thank you all for the likes.
Batmeista, all but the sweet Creepy 131 and 132 which I got from our very own Randall Dowling (thank you, Randall ), are from an Ebay seller that I had purchased a slabbed book from. He sent an offer along with my original purchase, and I jumped on it. I've been paying on the books for awhile, and just recently paid them off. I posted some of them awhile back. These are the last of the batch.

Scream 9 in 9.0 or better has been another tough one for me.
Yeah, a nice 15 like the one that Randall found would be nice. I think his deserves a bump. Plus, I hate having to try to find it every time I want to look at it.

Wow, you went way back to find that post. I wish the book links were still good.

I have it on good authority that a lot of Turoks will be coming to Heritage in a few months.
Oh, no. I'm not even going to look at them. I'm really not going to!

Use a piece of tape to pull the old adhesive off. Naptha for stubborn adhesive removal.

I don't buy books much anymore these days, but I came across this beautiful copy at an incredibly cheap (almost reader level) price. Had a copy of it back in high school and always loved the cover. Man, Sci-Fi and Chariots of the Gods stuff back in the '70s was so exciting. That upper left corner is actually just glare from the mylar. There's no wear or tearing.
Still exciting fifty years later. Especially that sweet copy!

If you ever get up around the Sarasota/Bradenton area, there used to be a few shops around there. Not sure about now. There was a guy in downtown Sarasota that had stacks upon stacks of books in his store. I once picked up a raw Werewolf by Night #1 there that ended up grading a 9.2. Would have graded higher, but the seller dinged the top edge while tapping it down into a bag with board. I sure wish that I had hung on to that one.
