  1. Reglossed cover, the copy telerites once won and did not keep, but I just love to have a #18…
  2. This one has half a page (and some other inside pieces) missing…
  3. Well, I’m "poor", so they are the usual ones I mostly already showed here and there, but since except the Hit no one posted them already…
  4. Still better than any Stan Lee sig on a comic. Well, Stan has a nice signature (like most people of older generations, which learned how to write properly) but he uses large felt tip markers…
  5. The fact he (supposedly) added Morbius teeth does not help…
  6. You're in Canada… It’s about australian editions. Great for historical work, but I’d rather leave it to some australian… or scholar… or whatever!
  7. Very nice of you… Thanks much but I am not a Phantom collector and/or historian.
  8. The one you gifted me is awesome… Especially the Bernard Krigstein feature. I’d surely love to find the others, sooner or later.
  9. You sir, are surely a gentleman with that Frank Hampson avatar. Harry, have a look at how nice the italian logo became from some point onward: (From the very first FF issue I have read, and it was "love at first sight").
  10. It’s not a typeface ('font' has become a common term, but it’s inaccurate, as it addresses a specific weight or variation of a type family) – rather it’s skillful handlettering, and it’s due to Sol Brodsky (most of the early Marvel logos were his work), which was part of the original "Marvel bullpen", as Stan would have later put it. I'm just now seeing this. Thanks for the drop of knowledge! You’re welcome. Actually I believe that Sol Brodsky here was able to convey the "sense of wonder" which belongs to early american science fiction and the like. The 1960s aesthetics is more "industrial", and the FF and early Marvel covers had that "magic" that was generally lost in the following decade.
  11. I purchased a Black Knight #1 from Rick (previously I purchased a few other cheaper GA/SA books) and Rick graciously added a few Casper books because I told him I wished to read some as Casper hasn't been much published in Italy…
  12. http://www.lamole.com.mx/exclusivas-del-evento-2/ I love seeing reprints of the O.G.s, even the reprints can get slightly out of control Jerome What are O.G.s?
  13. It’s in wonderful condition! Well, to be honest I find Uncle's Sam facial features to be a bit strange in this illustrations. There are other covers I would favor over this one, although all remain very cool!
  14. What I meant is, even if you are not particularly fond of Diablo, you have given 3/5 to ordinary stories (like this Thor) while Diablo's first story is way above average. One could easily reason about it, I do not consider this a mere matter of taste.
  15. Amazing underwater cover there RM, congrats! Sometimes there are just certain 'non fanfare' books that call to us. BTW, the mail man just made my day 10 mins ago with a package straight from a certain west coast 'junk pile'. Stay 'Tuned'. Indeed! This Tarzan cover is awesome!
  16. Very cool! Very glad you like it. I totally love this author, which now in Italy is basically forgotten, with all the importance he has had between the 1930s and the 1950s. The dog character with the trombone is actually the police chief of the town. The characters are a uniquely italian Zoo of animals, very different from the Disney ones and at the same time with a common idea behind them.
  17. Not quite "Golden Age", as it’s borderline being from 1948 (and italian "ages" do not coincide with the conventional american classification, as in each "comics-literate" country is tied to that country’s own culture), but this is a favorite of mine (with lots of illustrations from one of my most loved authors of the 1930s-40s) and I have been wanting a nice copy for some time, and finally found one at a price which prompted me to buy! Just to reply with some animal vibe to Sqeggs, but these are 100% italian ones! P.S. Please note the nice touch of the author's signature "hidden" in the mice tail.
  18. Love the last ones posted, but especially Bill's Hit #14 and the Animal Comics #4 in such a sweet condition! I have only a Hit (#16) but midgrade, nice but not in such a wonderful shape!
  19. You are right they don't say squat. I am just talking about everything starting to look toward a certain villain. There is nothing in stone yet I am guessing and hoping. Its just when you see GoG and Avengers together something comes to mind really fast as a villain. Marvel Comics management?
  20. Oh no, I can’t agree on the vote on the Diablo story. There might be some things overlooked and some defects, but that is definitely a great story among the early issues. Maybe you’ve started judging them in an excessively analytical way… Now I’d like to know to which issues you’d give at least a 4/5.
  21. The ironic thing is that #7 was often acknowledged as the best standalone stories in the whole series. Now at least the money is going where the actual value is. A pity that I needed to upgrade mine but… oh well!
