  1. What is a "KISS motorized snow globe"? You should not post such things when there are sensitive junk donkeys around!
  2. Maybe you could just re-combine it in more options? The problem I have with mixed offers is that one interested in Marvel might not be interested in DC and so on…
  3. These Thor stories are really a must-have for everyone. (thumbs u
  4. Seriously, why do you keep coming back? To voice an opinion. This IS in CG, is it not? And perhaps more importantly, to wish a fellow boardie luck in his battle. Why single me out? It was a tiny post in a sea of noise. I single you out because you have repeatedly bashed this thread and have stated clearly that I rule it with "righteous indignation." You said right above - "this thread is brutal." Are you f'n kidding me? I don't get what anyone thinks that I get from this thread other than a headache. I try to appease any many people as I can. I try to be considerate when people Pm me for advise and suggestions. CAHokie is right and it has led to between us which sucks. 1Cool is right that he cared a lot about this thread and has PMed me with about 10,000 suggestions and I had to threaten a restraining order against him! I don’t think at all this was particularly directed at you, Harvey. This thread has been brutal, indeed… But this is unrelated with the effort you put in setting it up and laying down the rules as we go. You have got to keep separate the specific, always legitimate, criticism to certain behaviors, and the supposed negative attitude to the thread or to your efforts in making it work. They are two separate things. You are probably influenced by the fact bb8 criticized you personally for deriding Meeklo’s offer in public. But he was righ. You should acknowledge such criticism is not dimishing your effort and good work whatsoever, they are legitimate observations – to which degree you take them it is up to you.
  5. wow--if true I missed that completely I did not mean a joke in the "fun" acception – not in his specific statement. He was aggrieved and he grouped things together. I mean a "joke" in the sense it’s clear it’s an unlikely idea. At least to me.
  6. @Harvey: manicnerd is not well, his reaction is understandable. I don’t think it was particularly directed at anyone. It was an emotional outburst, there is always a reason but not to be taken literally, really. As far as the "inner circle" it’s clearly a joke: it’s obvious that everyone thinks with his own head, but when someone takes similar stances in the various situations people associate them in their mind, it‘s unavoidable. @MikeNYC: Now, that’s why I couldn’t figure out sense from porno movies!
  7. I guess Jeff was just hurt by some unneded comments; pretty understandable considered the situation. It does not need to be remarked that it was a more than adequate offer. The only reason I was not tempted to pick it is that ASM is among the series I collect selectively, going by stories or arcs alone, and I would have only been interested in a pair of books. That is why I asked that question. If I could take just part of the offer, I was already considering it… but Red beat me. Good for him!
  8. So you think I still have hopes to upgrade mine at a later date? I have checked it and mine is nice, but has distributor's spray. However, these things are more than
  9. Hypothetically speaking, could one pick an offer but if not interested in some of the books, leave them out? I know one is supposed to pick the whole offer, but I don’t recall if this has been discussed. The offer is awesome, anyway, so no worries, Nerd.
  10. I doubt it was intended as such by Rob Liefeld, when he paved the way to trash the New Mutants, which was a great book. I can see why people appreciate the unusual character which Deadpool has become, but one has to admit it has little to do with the character in NM #98.
  11. I am curious to see the picture of the FF #44. Most of the copies (including mine) have the black ink appearing "weaker" on Dragon Man (indicating probably that the Black plate was not the last one printed) but I have seen a few with a nicer black coverage, so I guess they did more subsequent print runs, as with most of books (see FF #52, for example).
  12. Revat… Revat honeymooning in Italy… :cloud9: Harvey, it’s understandable, but it’s never easy to judge properly in detail. It seems clear that now that these things have been denounced, people are reflecting more on their attitudes, and that’s good.
  13. Revat, your wording of the question is just perfect! I think everyone agrees on what you are saying Harvey, that‘s why I said «the important thing… etc.». (thumbs u
  14. You’re right – on the other hand I don’t think Chip was suggesting one may or should dishonestly "take advantage" of the offers (as we witnessed in PIF), or "sell them immediately on eBay" (why eBay?). I think he just meant that if the monetary value is there, the offer is bound to move. It might just happen that in a four items/books offer you are interested in – say – two, so you pick up the offer chiefly for the ones you want. For example, I never sell on eBay. I am just lazy I guess… But when I see a cool offer and have something adequate to offer of same or different kind/age, I can claim it even if I am just partially interested. The intent is be honest, generous, consistent, not necessarily not to sell, ever.
  15. I feared they would have been mistaken for a RAK… unfortunately they are not mine!
  16. I recently bought a Fantastic Four book from Steve: correctly graded, fairly priced. Thanks, I look forward to do more business! (thumbs u
  17. Never left feedback before, so doing it now: Eddy bought a Golden Age book from me at the beginning of the year. He’s been agreeable to trust me on a time payment since it was a bit expensive, and paid right on schedule. Great communication for an all around nice board member! Thanks pal! (thumbs u
  18. I think I never had the opportunity to leave feedback for Kaspar, so doing it now: I purchased a few SA FFs from him last year, tigthly graded and at great prices, including an insanely sweet #31 which was downgraded because of a corner crumpling but looks just awesome… Many thanks my friend! (thumbs u
  19. Here’s an interesting article on Marvel FF 1960s cover changes when sending the stats to the spanish publisher (I guess it happened the same in Italy as the FF #52 cover looks like the one in the article): http://kirbymuseum.org/blogs/effect/2012/04/10/coverstats/
