  1. That NM range #13 is indeed pretty dreamy… The light blue covers suffer more from yellowing tanning, regardless of grade – this one’s pretty remarkable. (thumbs u
  2. Nice – I think I miss just an issue from that range… I have to check. Just got this which works as an upgrade for my ragged copy:
  3. Thanks but actually I was joking with 999ghosts (which is in Belgium) about the costs of shipping a single book. Not sure this is something to be thoroughly satisfied about, Peter!
  4. Also, FYI, JiM #114 from the current offer is the first appearance of the Absorbing Man.
  5. If you feel like paying $20 or more to ship it back to USA you’re welcome, I’m sure Jim wouldn’t mind an exception…
  6. That’s just awesome – I’d love to have such a friend too.
  7. I could agree on the moving slower part, but this should be up to the offerer (KPR comics. How’s the "speed expectation" for this thread, anyway? Personally I would try to add offers in reasonable time, if I want it to move.
  8. I see, I’m just not accustomed to auction houses: do you ship them directly for the consignements? It must be quite expensive.
  9. I know it was worded like that: it is a laudative! Seriously, anyway, I do not think such comments should influence much the offerer: if an offer is destined to go unclaimed (regardless of its potential desirability), then it will happen, but in general it’s more bound someone will grab it, IMO.
  10. Personally I would not slab them, although I understand for many people it’s a bonus when they have to buy. You have french editions from the same publisher (Edizioni Mondiali/Milano / Editions Mondiales) which published some (probably unauthorized) GA material slightly after the war in France and Italy, including the first Batman stories, did you know that?
  11. The comment could have been read in ambiguous ways, as it might happen, especially with telematic written communication, which is closer to talk than to proper writing, but yes – the thread is bound to become over-sensitive as I had no serious intention to pick that ASM… I already have it. It was just meant as a compliment for KPR good taste – sorry Harvey!
  12. Besides this, wouldn’t be easier to ask some australian boardies about the collecting market for australian editions? I know there aren’t many, but someone might be around?
  13. You lucky guys – I should have imagined (in some way) that with the kind of culture you always had associated with the b.d. in France, there might have been a nurtured collecting base for original non-french comics as well. Unfortunately it’s not just a matter of SA: the collecting base in Italy is almost non-existent for all ages: people are mostly just not prone to appreciate things in their original language and form. That is why I find wonderful that you can dig out GA and SA comic books from France. OA is another matter: I have an acquaintance which has several Sienkiewicz pages (even some painted ones from "Love and War") and there are many OA collectors here as well. As for the Cap: there is to say that rare and super-rare does not necessarily coincide with "sought after": value is often "impossible" to determine, or better it should be determined at one’s best upon request as well. For example, this is one of a few Superman "apocryphal" italian comics, which came out as a follow up of the very first story published here (very likely unauthorized) in 1939. They are super-rare and I would not know how to price it – I just picked it as the occasion arised, but they are pretty much "priceless".
  14. I can’t get enough of ASM #90 – I would totally grab this if I could…
  15. For precision’s sake, these weren’t scans made from my books (I have them all anyway), but great two-page splashes scanned by a Flickr user (I posted the link, if you browse it there are many more, not only Kamandi). (thumbs u Great current offer!
  16. hah what an ironical statement I made by accident, well played, myself Sounds like a Demon story involving Witchboy…
  17. Mad Max? It sounds really menacing in italian if you want to know… but there is Tina Turner so it’s pretty reassuring.
  18. The Cap is awesome. I still can’t figure how you can find and purchase such books in France: is there a consistent pool of collectors which collect Golden Age? It would be pretty awesome, as in Italy there are very little people collecting comic books in the original USA editions.
  19. Are you talking to yourself? Because I did not write anything to contradict you! I think ebtorres is right, anyway, it’s up to Shadow Images to decide if he wants to let MoJoePin have it, as he offered to do so.
