  1. Since we know for sure that comics came out that day, I'm betting you can find others. I took a quick look at Mike's Amazing World, and it says one of the comics that came out the same day is Detective Comics #359 with the first Batgirl. I took a look at a few dozen copies on ebay, though, and the only one with a date stamp was actually from a week later, December 6. But I'm guessing there's other books with that Nov. 29, 1966 stamp out there. In my experience searching for my birth date stamp, I've noticed that some titles seem more likely than others to have the stamp. For me, it's Daredevil and Brave and the Bold - I'm guessing they were alphaetically first for their publishes, and thus on top of the bundles.
  2. Oh. My. Good. Gravy. You know, we've done the date stamp thread before, and we compiled a giant list of boardies looking for specific dates. I made a big spreadsheet with all of my comics with date stamps, and for like 5 years I've been checking and I've never found an exact match. days but not years, half matches, that sort of thing. UNTIL NOW. I'm so excited!
  3. I have one from 1987, but it's not on a book this cool!
  4. Thanks for checking it out!
  5. At the end of my video I talked about some of the bad comics that are too good to make my list, and anything from Joe Simon in the 1970's is on that list. Green Team, Outsiders, Championship Sports, Strange Sports Stories, and especially Prez are just amazingly offbeat, I love them!
  6. A couple weeks ago now, I was inspired by a thread in the Comics General section to do a video for YouTube showing off the Top 50 comics in my collection. To my surprise, I discovered I really enjoyed making the video — and some people actually watched it! So I've decided to make some more YouTube videos about comics and comic collecting. I'm hoping to just post like one video a week, and every so often I'll share those videos here. Here's the link to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbNBYQo08Ebr9kD_7HS44mA and here are some videos!
  7. I had so much fun doing this Top 50 video that I thought I'd flip it on it's head and do a video about the dumbest and LEAST key books in my collection. Everyone likes to brag about their copies of Avengers #1 or whatever, but those same people are too embarrassed to admit they are really trying to complete a run of NFL SuperPro. Not me! In this one, I reveal the dark secret of the comic collecting community — that most of what we collect is actually total garbage!
  8. I don't think anyone has mentioned Foom #2 yet.
  9. Well, it took me a full year to edit this episode, due both to major real life concerns as well as some messed up audio problems with the recordings. But I've finally got part 3 of my discussion of Marvel's classic Star Wars series ready. this was originally supposed to be part 3 of 4, but now it's part 3 of 5, because there's still hours and hours of raw audio left to edit from this conversation! This episode discusses Star Wars #39-63: https://classiccomics.podbean.com/e/classic-comics-forum-podcast-23-star-wars-by-marvel-comics-part-3/
  10. I love date stamps! In the old date stamp thread we had a list of people looking for stamps with specific dates - I'm still trying to find a date stamp from the day I was born, which is hard because comics didn't come out that day. I have a couple now that I found int he wild with date stamps from the day before I was born, so it's possible there's some out there from shops where shipments were late or they were just stamped late; I've seen this before, where a single issue has date stamps from multiple dates. But I'm, not holding my breath on ever finding it.
  11. Three classics! I have low grade copies of the first two, but so far Young Romance #170 has eluded me.
  12. If you don't already have it, now you need to get the other Nick Cardy dancing romance cover from this era so you can have the matching set. They definitely go together! Though you can do doubt get a nicer copy than mine:
  13. Only a matter of time before some of these classic Lucey covers start really breaking out. 37, 38, 42, and 43 are all really good second options for people who have been priced out of getting a 40 or 41. I'm tempted myself!
  14. I was just re-organizing my collection this weekend, and it's been a long time since I documented my books for insurance purposes, so I thought this would be fun to do! Warning: my video is an hour long because I couldn't help myself and had to give stories about each book and why and how I acquired it, and what it means to me. So it's way longer than it needs to be. I also look like Santa's doofus nephew in this thumbnail, but that's my overall vibe anyway, so we're going to stick with it.
  15. That alien is wearing Adam Strange's costume!
  16. It was the #102 that got me buying! Had to have it. These will give me #84-up, including all volume 2 and volume 3.
