  1. I think Bedlam is a polarizing book; you either love it or you hate it. I love it; I was intrigued after reading the digital preview and got a chance to read the entire issue 1 a week or two prior to release since it was sold early as an NYCC exclusive and I was hooked from then. I really enjoy the story, a lot.

I also thought Rossmo’s art fit the book really well, with my only complaint being that some characters looked alike due to the exaggerated “Rossmo-style” squared chins. Other than that, I really like his art.

Ryan Browne I thought was just ok; I don’t know if it was that he was trying too hard to copy Rossmo, but the art just didn’t feel awesome. However, I can’t say I hated it, either.

I am anxiously waiting for a new issue release date to be announced and also wondering who the new artist will be. Spencer hinting that he has big plans for this book isn’t helping the waiting game! Let’s hope a new issue comes out sooner than later…

  2. Now that AoW is over, I thought excerpts from this interview with Robert Kirkman last July are pretty interesting:

Q: Many of our readers are looking forward to the upcoming All Out War story arc. Can you give us a little tease of what we can expect from this major story arc?

RK: All Out War is a very accurate title. Negan has been a thorn in everyone’s side and now everyone is united against him. It’s going to be a big blowout and is a bigger story than we’ve ever told before. It’s going to lead to some pretty terrible things happening in the book. You can’t have a war without casualties, so it’s going to be a pretty dark period in the book. :yeahok:

It’s still going to be a human story, but there are bigger things happening now. Civilization is getting to the point where it can be rebuilt and that’s something that they’re going to be working toward.

Q: Part of that re-building is fighting back, trying to reclaim the land. We’ve seen pockets of civilization, but will you show them expanding out and trying to reclaim this world?

RK: Definitely. Making larger safe zones and making the world safe to live in is a priority if they can survive this war.

  3. "'Walking Dead' Actor Steven Yeun, Felicia Day Voicing Comic Adaptation 'Chew' (Exclusive)"

Jeff Krelitz is directing the animated feature about a "cibopath" detective who gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats.

...Yeun is voicing the detective, Tony Chu. Day is voicing his love interest, a food critic named Amelia Mintz who is a "saboscrivner," someone who can write about food so precisely the reader actually feels like they are tasting it.

Chew is being executive produced by Scott Boxenbaum, Layman, and Chew's other co-creator, Rob Guillory. It's being co-executive produced by former BBC executive Dan Tischler.

The producers are aiming for a digital broadcast and home entertainment release.

    AWESOME!!!! :applause:

  4. Thank God for work meetings! Never thought I'd say that, but I've been on and off this thread today and thankfully apparently missed something I didn't want to see even if it was real or not, because I had to attend a meeting!

Sorry to my fellow boardies who saw said spoiler and I hope it's not real or a significant part of tomorrow's ending.

  5. I wouldn't take that bet; I'm also thinking it did go for 5k+

The page is awesome, and after re-reading AoW, I just don't see any logical reason how that's not Negan's end. Rick isn't the type to deal a warning blow at this stage in the war; he's the dude that killed a man by biting the jugular! I just don't fathom a reasonable argument for Negan surviving that. 2c

  6. The real question is "Why would you want to have them release variant HC's?". You guys are requesting variants now?

    W?

Didn't the Chew crew do this successfully with the Smorgasbord Edition? I didn't pick up the NYCC exclusive last year, but I wanted to over the regular edition. I eventually decided against it because I have the three Omnivore HC's and an all almost full run of floppies.

With Saga, I don't own anything, I read digitally, so if they release an SDCC HC, I'd prefer that over the regular edition. Plus I'd have it months in advance!

  7. Let's see who'll be the first seller to use that Twitter pic on their eBay listing of Chew #1... lol

I just might for my Original Art Listings :)

May have to jack the prices up ;)

    Go for it! :hehe:

I've been trying to get a Guillory sketch on a Tect 20 blank which I can also have Layman sign, but that hasn't happened yet. I thought I would be able to at NYCC last year, but he told me to email him for Christmas sketches, which I did, but never heard back from him... :sorry:

I better be quick before this whole thing heats up again and his commission prices become astronomical.

What do you want? I'm picking up Rob at the airport in a few hours.

    Hey Jeff; PM sent.
