  1. That Action #5 is a dream book for me. Glad to see it go into the hands of a collector who appreciates it.
  2. Congrats bluetooth - FF 1 is and has been my fav Marvel Key. Hope you enjoy it for years to come. btw yall, JS comics has some great raw FFs@ ebay auction - I just scored FF 11 for way under guide. Tried to keep up, but too many auctions to close together. Someone got a 12 for a steal, although others seemed to be at or around guide. Grades avg 6-8 range.
  3. Two more Sandman Adventures I am pleased to add to the collection. These are Ruben Blades copies. When these arrived at the house I noticed the #63 had a label from Metropolis saying this issue was "rare" - i never recalled it having a gerber rating. Anyone know about that? Adventure 47 CGC blue label 4.5 Adventure 63 CGC Blue label 4.0
  4. I believe Invincible IronMan #45 or 46 has AntMan back up story w app of Scarlet Beetle. It sticks out in my mind because it was written in that classic prehero marvel formula.
  5. Very Nice! not too mention Black Panther is a great character and always has a good story line when he makes an appearance. Now you need #53
  6. Glad I was able to snag this book. Go figure, i had depleted my comic slush fund, then it pops up... to tough to find so bought her anyway. Unrestored w super nice PQ, near edges are cream, but otherwise lots of eye popping white. Cover is detached. Thought of having Matt/Kenny work on her, but not sure yet.
  7. Judging by the FC, I'm not sure why that's only a 3.0... GREAT eye appeal on that one! Thx So I couldnt stand it and decided to crack the slab today. Glad I did as I enjoy reading these old DCs... they are 100x better than 90% of Timely IMHO. Here are some pics if anyone is curious - cover is attached but by back part of cover paper. Overall, book appears solid w nice pages. There was a small 1/2" tear on an interior page otherwise nice book. I pd 1.5 guide but for this book it was worth it. Other copies Ive seen not near as nice or were 3x price.
  8. ahh interesting. Thx for adding insight. You know, I cant recall issues, but, I have seen VG copies in CGC case w corner chucks missing, not big mind you. Well, doesnt matter, you sure got a nice #4 in my opinion. As w many folks, I always "buy" the book not the grade. If I saw that book at my LCS @ G- price Id plunk down the cash, even though I already have a copy. Subby is one of my favs and it is an FF4 after all.
  9. man, how can that FF#4 be a 1.5 did some kid use it as a coloring book inside? big water stain enlighten me someone.
  10. Another nice book I just picked up is this Action #14 3.0 blue label - NO Tape or missing chucks woohoo I had almost pulled the trigger on an early Sandman cover, but this came up and I had always wanted some of the early Superman books, so jumped on it.
  11. I finally scored a replacement copy. First time around I had about a 5.0 and sold her for mere $850 thinking the price would fall if i held out any longer.. more than a decade later... oops Raw 4.0 w cream to Off white PQ (mostly OW)
  12. Hey Bluetooth Luv'n the FF 36, Classic villain team-up - very nice! Jimbo That FF13 is the bomb - last time I tried to buy a copy I got shut out on bid war. Congrats
  13. Thanks, yeah took some effort. #1 is G/VG, but others range in VG+ to F+ cond. I think #2 was most difficult to locate in cond I wanted. Other than #1, they all have offwhite to white pages. The cover and 1st wrap of #2 is cream, but otherwise real nice, except for "20-" and some other small writing in pencil on cover that was erased. When Christmas arrives I should have funds to my #3
  14. Here is a group shot of my big FF's not as nice as the 9.0 run but my FF#2 is signed by the Super Skrull - i dont think CGC has a label for that yet...
  15. Just curious, I have not seen many copies of FF 13 in person over the years, I seem to remember some having more grayish color than nice blue like the 9.2. Yet other colors like yellow dont seem faded... has anyone noticed this or is it my imagination?
  16. Very nice buy DSCOTT - I had that on my watch list Like you also on hunt for TOS 39 - ASM 1 was a strong distraction : )
  17. Issues # 6 is my favorite story from the early group. #4 is biggest key to me as Subby is my fav Marvel Character followed by Wolverine and IronMan. I was reading them again last night... just love kirby art and layout. The newer comics dont have the same appeal as early silverage - the true golden age of comics!
  18. I plan to complete the entire run. The tough part is first dozen issues... Currently have 1, 4, 5, 6, 14
  19. I got my first realization at the world popularity of comics when I was driving back into downtown Guatemala City in 2002 and saw a massive billboard with Wolverine jumping out at you. Definitely didn't expect to see that. I am going to visit Colombia next week, maybe look for some new comics in Espanol. Chao
  20. I love the cover of the TTA 85 .. reminds me of the WWII era DC - the birds eye angle w Hero swinging out of the cover. Simple lines and rendering of the ocean as it fades into the top ... a Classic.
  21. What an amazing thread. I had not hoped to ever get to read these old classics. Many thanks to Theangenes for the effort to pull this off. Btw IMHO the John Carter movie was worth the 30 year wait from my first discovery of his Martian Tales. -Scott
