  1. What is your hangup about a cash register? As anyone who has been following this thread for any length of time already knows, if you had any real desire to work a cash register, along with the ability to work one, there are dozens of places you could work and run a cash register, for pay no less. They are called fast food restaurants and retail stores. For the sake of argument, let's assume that there is no place in your area that will hire you to run a cash register. Actually, if potential employers were to read this thread, that's a pretty good possibility. Why not take a leap of faith and try the following: Instead of just jabbering about volunteering, why don't you actually GO VOLUNTEER at the comic shop you're talking about? According to you, they are on such a shoestring budget that they can't afford employees and have to rely on volunteers. Why don't you stop babbling about volunteering and go volunteer there? If they take you on, Great! If they turn you down, what does that tell you?
  2. Okay, Gabe, that's not a bad idea. Instead of just thinking about it, why not go to your LCS tomorrow and volunteer your time and services, and let us know what they say?
  3. Thanks, Jeffrey! I just tried it and now I can read the OPs posts without seeing that giant sigline.
  4. By the way, thank you very much for looking and putting it up! It's very much appreciated!!
  5. I'll see your "More than you should have" and raise you "Likely more than you'll sell them for."
  6. I made my weekly stop at Half Price Books today and found these. I paid $12.49 for the Batman book and $10.00 for the Wonder Woman book. I don't know if somebody beat me to the Superman book, or if it was never there to begin with, but I'm not complaining.
  7. Value wise, $2000.00 seems pretty low. The Action Comics 252 is likely worth well over that amount all by itself.
  8. I still get his emails, because once in a while they are an interesting read. What I find hilarious, though, is that Chuck, whom I have nothing against, runs a code word sale on a regular basis with the premise that an unexpected bill has come up, and if he can't raise cash quickly, Mile High will be on the verge of going under. There is a YouTube channel called Comic Trips, which I highly recommend by the way, that visited Mile High last year and we're given a tour by Chuck. Chuck not only showed them his Pueblo pottery collection, which he claimed was worth five million dollars, but told them, on camera, that he doesn't sell comics to get rich, because he already is rich. Good for Chuck, I'm sure he's worked hard for what he has, but I find it absolutely hilarious that he claims financial problems on one hand, such as he latest tax bill, when he is a millionaire, most likely a multi millionaire.
  9. I think that someone posted at one time that they do that intentionally, supposedly so that their listings will pop up if you search for either comics or comic book, hence their use of comics book. Personally, I wish there was a word you could type in to eliminate their listings from my search.
  10. I echo the advice to give the guy a negative feedback, but also watch to see if he resists the item. If he does, bid that thing through the roof, and when you win, tell him that your sorry, but you're not happy with the selling price and won't be purchasing the item after all.
