  1. I bought it for 108 USD I sold it for 220 USD Even with shipping you should make a decent profit. Nice going!!
  2. Gabe- How much did you sell the Batman 189 for, not counting shipping and fees? How much did you pay for it?
  3. $115 would have bought a bicycle or a good down payment on a scooter. That's true but I don't think I would pay that much for a bike maybe 20-30 You don't need a Cannondale or a Trek bike, but $20.00 to $30.00 probably won't buy you much of a bike, unless you can get one from the Goodwill or Salvation Army.
  4. I don't know why this would be doing you a favor and it's something he told me to be careful on and watch for the window so while I do that I'm selling and listing my other comics. He's not actually asking you to do him a favor, it's a figure of speech. He is trying to help you, however.
  5. Great journal, Hepcat! I came across it today at work, and decided to start at page 1. I got to page 7 and then I actually had to work, dammit. My wife is watching the election, so I should get all the way through your journal tonight!
  6. My first car in 1986 was a 69 Dodge Charger. The day I got my license, it took me about an hour and a half to get my first ticket.
  7. I did pay 115 it's the shipping that was 24.50 Why is 25% of your cost, shipping? You can't make money at those kind of rates. You can't buy $100 books to flip, where the shipping is 25% percent of your cost. Go to a show, by that kind of book where there is no shipping costs. It just doesn't make sense. Jim Yeah I asked about that and he says because it's going to Canada he can't really help me there. At that point, you should have walked away. Your best bet is to get a 40 hr per week job. With the amount of time you already have in this book, you could have made $50 Right now, you are working harder avoiding a job, than the actual work would be. I'm a little bit tired but what do you mean I could have already made $50? 25 from shipping what's the other 25? I think what he's trying to tell you is that if you were working at a job earning minimum wage, and worked the same number of hours that you have invested in this latest book, in addition to the back breaking 20 that you are working already, you would have earned an additional $50.00, or roughly the same amount as the potential profit that you hope to make on this book.
  8. So buying a book under market and you can't sell it under market so your solution is to buy books OVER market and wait for the market to catch up...hopefully...one day...after an announcement or trailer...or something like that. Sense you have made much of. No the idea was to buy the comic under gpa by at least half but that didn't work out. Also this is black panther's 2nd app we're talking about here which is currently undervalued and 1st app of Klaw. No mess it didn't work out. Did someone hold a gun to your head and say you have to buy this book or else? So what if its currently undervalued. You are playing the same game you were playing last buy. A lottery game that ST would "increase" or that DV3 would "increase" you have to hold these books for MONTHS without ever being able to put them on the market. Not necessarily you can always it up for cheaper then your competition and sell it off that way. Yes I'll have to wait months on them but the other times are because I fully didn't listen to my friend I'll give you examples DV 3 - His Advice Buy them as cheap as you can What I did I bought them 3 days later after he told me and the price was already hyped up What he did Contacted local lcs's and bought under cover price and was buying them under the radar for a year now. ST157 His advice Buy copies you find cheap but only buy one or two be careful What I did Bought the first copy I saw that was cheap What he did Only purchased them in lots with other comics FF53 Buy them as it's undervalued and a no brainer and undervalued What I did Bought copies about two years ago and a 7.0 recently What he did Buys copies cheap and lowballs if they say no he walks away if they don't he buys them Who is this anonymous sage? Is he a boardie? A Facebook pal? Also, are you "no longer/taking a break from buying" because your PayPal account is drained? He's my facebook friend and he's much smarter then myself and yes for now I'm taking a break because my paypal account is drained until I sell more comics or video games You should hope that nobody submits for a refund. If you are out of funds - what will you do? It's probably a safe bet that he hasn't even considered that possibility.
  9. Will this be one of the 11% that you make money on or one of the 89% that you lose on? It will be the 11% I make money on Wanna bet? What would the bet be? That this book will not make you any money.

  12. Yes, his mom knows better and told him it isn't safe for a 23 year old to go out trick or treating, meanwhile a bunch of 10 year olds are running around the neighborhood in scary costumes going trick or treating. I'll mention this again since you may have forgotten, I don't live in the safest of neighborhoods and taking a car would be the safer solution and it's faster. Do you live in Niagara Falls, NY or Canada? NY I could understand this statement, but Ontario. Who tells you this, your Mom who watches the news? Jim Both my mom and the fact that a few people grabbed me and wanted to fight. How old were you when that happened? Sounds strange that someone would try to grab an adult male. Sounds strange he was allowed anywhere outside by himself. I'm allowed to go out anywhere as long as it's before it gets dark outside In other words, you will be living with your parents forever, because it's now obvious that you are incapable of functioning on your own. Many things are now coming into focus. I won't be living with my parents forever and I do care about my personal safety, I'm not going to go out when it's dark that's asking for trouble and if you want to laugh at that go right ahead. I'm not laughing that you don't go out after dark. It's the fact that you are 23 years old and you're not ALLOWED to go out after dark. Add that to the fact that you have no problem with dropping 4 figures on a comic book, and you're right, I'm laughing my spoon off. I'd love to be a fly on the wall if the day ever comes when you have to live in the real world.

Jim Both my mom and the fact that a few people grabbed me and wanted to fight. There is nothing to fear, grasshopper. All you have to do is start telling your would be assailants your theories on flipping comics. Believe me, they will take off. Then you can go home and eat your candy.
  15. I'd like the following date stamp: Sept 6 1970 This exact stamp Any book in any condition I'd just like to have a comic that was on the stands on the day I was born.
  16. Yes Okay, this speaks volumes, because NOBODY who is over 15 years old (and I'm spotting you at least 3 years here) thinks that it is still acceptable for them to go trick or treating. You are 23, and you claim that you still think that it's okay. So, one of two things is going on here: 1) You are completely normal, with a few learning issues, but are so starved for attention that even negative attention is better than none at all OR 2) You have issues that no one short of a specialized professional can help you with. I don't know which it is, and frankly, it's none of my business. However, this is the point where I realized that you either will never take any of the advice offered, or you simply don't have the ability to understand any of the advice or concepts being presented. Either way, I wouldn't expect too much more advice to be offered to you any longer, because, let's face it, at best, you won't like it, and it will bounce off you like a Super Pinky rubber ball, and at worst, you won't be able to comprehend it. So why should anyone waste the time and effort to try to help you any longer? We'll just keep watching this train wreck thread as it lumbers along the track on its way to who knows where. The answer is the first option but I'm not starved for attention you just think it is because you can't comprehend that I'm actually doing these things. [/quote Kid, you can't have it both ways. The reason nobody can comprehend that you do these things is because it's not normal behavior.
  17. I just watched this video, and that is one fine looking Batman statue! Well done, Jeff!

  19. Gabe-I'm not sure if you're kidding or not, so, were you actually planning on going trick or treating this year until your mom told you not to? Just a simple Yes or No will suffice.
  20. I just finished watching all of your videos, and they are all outstanding! I subscribed as well, and your channel is now one of my favorites on YouTube. Is there any chance you might do a video of your comic room? Well done, Jeff!
  21. That's kinda my point. What's going to happen to all those overpriced and in many cases undesirable comics when Chuck is gone?
  22. 1. Didn't he already sell most of that off? 2. 100 books is going to damage the market? Maybe for short term, but it you think 100 books is a lot you don't understand how many books are actually printed. He has not...go to Youtube and check out the video's on one of them he talks about having packages of 65/66 marvels...a lot....I remember one thor issue he had 250 copies..only a few have hit the market..he is sitting on them like 11 million other comics...he never gives away his stuff.. He said in his Tales of the Database that he received 12,000 copies of a single issue in the Mile High 2 collection. I would think he's bound to have more than a few of those still left.
  23. I do have money in my savings account Do you bank a certain percentage of your sales or do you take all the money from the stuff you sell and use it to buy more stuff? I save about 10-20% depending on how much I bought and sold it for Do you actually make 20% on most sales you make... And follow up after the 10-20% goes into savings. How much goes to the Gabe collection? Finally how often can you put 20% into savings and x into Gabe do you actually still have any extra 'profit' left over to buy anything extra? I think he was saying he puts away 10-20℅ of his profit. So if he makes $0.40 on a sale, he puts away $0.04- $0.08. That's the way I interpreted it also. Who knows, properly invested, that 8 cents could grow into a quarter or even a half dollar by the time he's ready to move out on his own. Uh, wait a minute... Har Har it does add up you know. Absolutely it adds up. My point is that by the time you're ready to move move out on your own, that 8 cents will likely have increased in value enough to buy a couple of class A shares of Berkshire Hathaway stock. Haha I don't think it will take me that long to move out Good luck to you, Gabe!
