  1. I absolutely loved Battle Chasers and honestly, that series crushed me.  The long waits... the delays.... the teasing... and then the super early finish (9 issues??? Wtf!?!?).

I was young and just getting addicted to comics and spent a lot on #1 (well, a lot for me then) and I adored that book.  I still think back to it often.

I will never forgive Joe Mad :(lol

I missed the deadline and reached out to CGC to see what they could do. They stated that "you can still submit the book for grading, but please be advised it will receive our Green Qualified label, and not our Yellow Signature Series Designated Label"

As someone new to submitting to CGC I waited far to long to find the time to learn how to submit properly, and missed the boat. I'm now concerned that the value of my raw copy is going to nose dive, but am also concerned that the green label won't be worth getting as well. Looking for the communities advice on this regarding what I should do with it.

Personally, I'd be totally fine sticking it in a nice mylar and keeping it raw.

In fact, I'm leaning that way for the Gunslinger one.  I dont ever plan to sell it though... and even if you do you can claim there are less raw copies than graded lol

Agreed re Scorched. What may hurt it though is that it is basically and Avengers/JLA Spawn play. No new characters, just a cra ppy team-up book. That being said, if they do a GS Spawn variant to every issue they will have one cover that sells. 😂

FWIW, the first app of Team Scorched was just a few months ago in Spawn #314. That may be the way to play it.

Interesting thoughts regarding 314.  You can still find that on some hobby store shelves I'm sure.

I would also say that's probably the least likely book to still be around a few years from now but who really knows.  If they start popping in first appearances all the time it would probably work.

Todd just showed copy 1191 of 1191 and he made a remark on it.  He also mentioned hes going to do a handful of like blue and green ink sigs (think he mentioned 5 each) as like chase versions.  I didnt really take notice but did he do this for King Spawn as well?

Same here, but I was not worried with selling this book. Look at what the GS covers post #300 are already going for.

In the end, the mistake may have been not doing 1,000 copies..........

    Probably right.

My guess would be the next one, The Scorched, will have the lowest print run yet.

I really am surprised Gunslinger didnt have more than King Spawn.  Good for us.

Wow. That is a lower number than expected which is awesome to see. I thought it would top King Spawn #1 since Gunslinger is so popular.

The beauty of GS 1 as well is that the regular covers will sell for a nice price at shows for years to come. It should be a $10-$20 book next convention season.

Good cuz I got 250 copies to deal with lol

  6. They've released the image for the 1:250 signed variant.  I love the cover!  Not sure if there is enough white space for Todd's signature to really stand out but my guess is he uses a red sharpie again and it should be ok.  Wish the weapons on Gunslingers back pointed up to the right (towards the Image logo). I think that would have helped with the space for Todd's signature.  Either way, love it!

I've seen online about there being a 1:250 for it, too, but if so will it come with a COA as well for CGC grading?  If so, I've not heard confirmation on that at least but there seems to be word of a 1:250 signed variant of it, too.  No idea when it has to be ordered by, though (should be soon if not too late already)

    Spoke to shop owner today.

FOC is Monday and I placed an order for one of the signed 1:250 copies.  I'll grab the b&w 1:50 as well.

From what I can gather, final cut off orders are Sept 20th.  So could still be time.  This is assuming they are in fact doing a signed 1:250 variant again.

I'm going to have to ask my local shop this week

Well good news to report is that the non-graded raw sales seem to still be going in the $800-1K range but once the 25th deadline passes who knows how that will affect the value.  Still no new census updates so hopefully we'll see an updated total amount graded list next week.  Legitimate looking CGC 9.8 in-hand sales (based on eBay data) seem to range in the $1275-$1450 range.  To me, that's a pretty positive outcome when we're about 3-4 weeks post release of these issues!  Once we see the total amount yellow labeled that will be the real litmus test at sustainability on the value of these, though! (thumbsu

Still no news about Gunslinger ratios eh?

I'd be interested to know this - do you know when it's due to be released?  Pre-order info, anyway?

Edit: NVM just googled and saw it was due out first week of October. Hopefully we'll hear something very soon about any exclusives like a 1:250 signing and such!

Yeah, off the top of my head I believe it's like October 5th... so we should be hearing some news, like, now, if there are any incentives.

  11. So I read and collected original Spawn from #1-130.  Recently, maybe 8 months ago around Christmas I really missed the character and got back into the main series (like #310 or so).  I picked up 300 onwards.

Over the years I would pick up the odd issue or storyline here and there but very few (thankfully I grabbed the Endgame storyline).  Lets just say I have a huge hole from #130-300.

I had planned on filling everything (I still do!) But once they nannounced the new Spawn universe VERY soon after I decided to re-collect the title I knew I was in for it haha

Anyways... i grabbed some King Spawn #1s.  I decided against the 1:250 last month (for $500 CDN!) when I was talking to the shop owner and now regret it.  I have major FOMO.  Hopefully I'll be able to grab one eventually.
