  1. The variant thing is kind of nuts for this title, I'm sticking with the NYCC variants since I like it the best. Finally got my hands on a RRP that looks good for a 9.8 so I'm happy. Of all the other variants I think the FP one is probably the nicest (can you even get this unsigned?), but I think I'm skipping the madness. Like Larry said, will be interesting to see where this sits in November.
  2. FWIW the Image exclusives page for NYCC still has the same text http://www.imagecomics.com/news/244/IMAGE-COMICS-EXCLUSIVES-AND-PANELS-AT-NEW-YORK-COMIC-CON Not that it means much, but I think a lot of folks (misguided or not) based their speculative information off that page.
  3. This is the one of the strangest occurrences I can remember regarding a convention exclusive. I suppose I'm thankful I only bought a single copy for myself - but it's a pretty bad situation all-around.
  4. Agreed. I must say, just glancing at it the first time I saw it I wasn't fond of the art - but after reading the preview and then the first issue I really started to appreciate how well the two go together.
  5. Oh come on this thread isn't for talking about the title itself, we need to go back to arguing abut the print runs
  6. People are lazy or don't know better -> go to eBay punch in title -> Buy
  7. Agreed. My gut is hurting because I bought a lot of it Though, my perspective was - I loved the first issue and and hopeful it's going to take off (only so we'd get a decent run out of it) plus I'm not planning on buying up OA for a whole lot of issues, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity on #1. Like some folks have said, early November should be interesting once the book is out and we can see some reaction. They certainly are selling it hard though.
  8. http://www.theinteriorpages.com/2012/06/07/bedlam/ Most of Issue #1 is gone though (consider it's a 48-page issue too)
  9. The NYCC RRP (Sketch Variant) seems to be going pretty consistently around $150 on eBay too.
  10. I know the Image site says 500, but given how many we are seeing 1000 does seem reasonable for the colored NYCC variant (I mean there's been well over a hundred sold on these boards). Wouldn't be surprised if the RRP was a total of 500, but that's all speculation at this point. I do have high hopes for this book though (not from an investment standpoint, just based on Issue #1 and the talent).
  11. Yeah, the art was...brilliant in places, tolerable in others. I have high hopes for the book though.
  12. Ok, turnaround times are.. turnaround times but speaking of very minor qualms Got a bunch of books back and a few ASM 648 sketches in the thick plastic holders -- drives my scanner nuts. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have the books back, but
  13. Thanks to Rich Henn for my Baltimore books - appreciate it! Thanks to Menace (Jake) for my Rose City books and sketches
  14. Those cast signed Aliens books are a thing of beauty
  15. At this point, she probably has signed so many things I'd be surprised if any attention is even paid to what is being signed. Agree with you though - could have certainly been a bit more considerate with that placement. Great pieces by Dorman though - very cool.
  16. (thumbs u Just saw mine scored a 9.4 this morning, I saw the couple of issues on that cover before sending it in and a press would certainly move it at least to 9.6 - but was somewhat time limited. Since I decided to move all my WD stuff a couple of weeks ago it doesn't bother me as much, otherwise I'd be getting that 9.8 itch
  17. Been poking around a bit with no luck - anyone have a line on Tom Lyle sightings? (and possible signings)
