  1. I love this book and I love the covers. Weird question, but did anybody notice a similarity in the art in this book and the animation in the first season or two of the cartoon RugRats when they read the first issue? I don't see it anymore, but I couldn't help but notice the similarities at first. Feel free to dump on me if you think I'm crazy, but I had to say it. You're not crazy, you may be onto something... Something to ask Nick about next time perhaps (thumbs u
  2. Nice collection - I like the choice of pages. I'm in a similar boat, I read 1-48 and was very enthusiastic about the series, but these days I'm enjoying the TV show a lot more (I trailed off the book in the 70s) and it's been fun. Still enjoy art from the series, there are some great pieces scattered throughout the run.
  3. +1 indeed, really nice guy - enjoyed interacting with him. The whole mad science theme in this book is really appealing to me, so I hope it has a good run. Plus, I love the book both narratively and stylistically.
  4. How do you mean? I think it's been fairly successful considering the scope and distribution.
  5. Was thinking this as well, and after what has been said would books still achieve a 9.8 with the tears? I am sure they will (if that's the only issue) - on bindery issues like this CGC tends to normalize across the run. However, I'd be surprised if there was anything above that grade.
  6. Seems the OA guys dropped their pants and compared member sizes. New CAF feature...
  7. Well he did do the cover ... (all the regular covers so far - i.e. #1, #2 and #3) I get why they have been signed, I just don't understand why FP was only selling signed copies, They didn't have one non signed copy, which is obviously not good if you don't like your books signed. Ah, that is pretty bizarre. Speaking of - I've historically liked Irving's art but I think the Rossmo variant covers have been much better than the digital covers Irving has been doing for the regular issues. Interesting that he's prominently featured on the book too (along with Spencer and Rossmo).
  8. Well he did do the cover ... (all the regular covers so far - i.e. #1, #2 and #3)
  9. Blind auction for the 106 cover ($10K minimum) http://www.splashpageart.com/AdlardWalkingDead106Auction.asp
  10. Nice stuff Gaz - glad to see some boardies pick up a few pages from #1. Going to stop by my LCS to pick up a #1 issue even though I already read it.
  11. That's a nice page - grats!
  12. How exactly? Long term this is not a solid OA buy even at $50 a page, sorry. If you like the art and story then the OA is worth it If you are buying on speculation only then that's a different story Agreed 100%. A lot of the frenzy for Bedlam OA has been for flipping because it's currently a good window given all the anticipation for the book (plus fairly reasonable prices). Though, I am pretty sure Riley is going to ramp up the prices on forthcoming issues. Granted there are a few collectors who just want a page or two for their collection but this is what I've seen.
  13. (thumbs u Agree on everything here - a new artist may get me to pick up the book again personally.
  14. Official release date is tomorrow (10/31) http://www.imagecomics.com/comics/5085/Bedlam-1
  15. Nice spot. Any particular reason as to why? It only came out like last month... Not sure. I've heard good things about what Fraction is doing with this book. Larry pointed it out as a hot book in his shop earlier in the month. The print run for #2 was 33,563, so possibly they didn't print enough to meet demand...? Personally, I never liked Fraction's writing but he's doing a decent job on this book. The real star is Aja's art though - it's pretty spectacular.
  16. Just saw that, grats - 9.9 SS 2x signed is pretty killer
  17. Pretty sure all of Jock's OA covers to his run on Tec exist - he mentioned to me a while back they are all sold, except for #881 which is said he's keeping.
  18. ... and here I was skeptical this thread would reach 100 pages before release
