That reminds me to post these in the Official LB Cole thread...

Thanks, but in many cases the scans look much better than would be reflected in the technical grade of the book (like Bonds' sweet Blue Bolt 115). However, you must have more high-grade copies to share!! I agree there are plenty of Cole covers that aren't that exciting (romance, funny animal, crime, etc.,.), but as far as his horror and sci-fi stuff, it's all good. Anyone know where to find an LB Cole cover checklist? Was one included in the CBM article?

I need to add that Horrors book to my want list!! After the big three, there are another half-dozen or so Cole sci-fi covers, and here's one of my favorites from the "b-side". It should be noted that this book was also printed in Canada, but the cover coloring is different...in a bad way.

Here's one that's not seen too often, love the bright colors on the black background!

One reason - detached cover! If you look closely at the staple, you can sort of tell. However, there's no paper missing, the cut is nice and clean, you can still see the staple, and the cover looks "tight" to the book.

This arrived this weekend...classic Schomburg D-day cover. Not bad for a CGC 3.5!!

Yeah, in the latest issue of my fanzine I note in the market report how there are many great pre-code horror deals right now. In part due, in my opinion, to the recent frenzy in the BA horror area, especially HG DC material. Also, I hope it is somewhat of a "market correction", coming down from the balloon-inflation pre-code craze of the mid-late 1990's. Let's pray this continues to last!!! Are the actual prices of pre-code books coming down, or is it just that the guide has finally caught up with the market, and you no longer have to pay "multiples"? The only pre-code horror I collect (for now!) are LB Cole covers, and they have come down a bit in cost over the last 5 years, so I'm just wondering if the same is true for EC's, etc.,.
