Question for all of you old-timers our there :
What does it mean if the Gerber Journal is missing a series completely?
I went to look for Girl Confessions #32 (as MCS has a blank spot for that issue) and didn't find an entry for Girl Confessions at all.
Not an old timer (I think???) but did notice many titles are under whatever they started out as -- so Girl Confessions (look in OSPG) was Girl Comics. Look in Gerber - he only has a few Girl Comics and one Girl Confessions (#14) but does have them listed in the issues.

I have a coverless copy of that (saw the Frazetta and had to buy the box!) If I can dig it out I should send info to gcd

The lower one has a painterly like image, while the top shows his masterly pointillism shading. My preference is for the Lovers, but I have not seen a very high grade copy (maybe a 6.0 at best). These were readily available when I went looking, but I'd very much like a better copy of Lovers.
The Lovers is all Pike, the Secret Story Romances supposedly has Bill Everett inks/tones, which is why the shading is so different.
Personally I think Pike has a more interesting style.

Strong participation I think up to about 1K for this sole graded 4.5, and then it seemed to me two bidders went at each other above the 2K level. A really strong price was the result, establishing this book as a minor grail for sure. Remember - the underbidder is still out there, willing and able.
So what does that mean re: value for these 2 books I happen to have?

Bulls Eye 1, CGC 7.0 OW/White Pages. Nice bright colors on this Kirby cover with Kirby interiors. First issue, not common but desirable because it's King Kirby. Sparse data, asking $2,500. (and I didn't realize both of my offerings have the same add on the back cover until I downloaded the images - total coincidence!)

War Comics 11, CGC 3.5 PLOD (C-1 slight amount of glue on staples). Nice presenting copy of this Classic Cover. I expected this grade, but missed the glue! If glue is removed it will most likely be a detached cover (grader notes: staple almost detached/glued bottom of spine, staple detached top of spine, small amount of glue on staples) so not sure if that means there is only glue at bottom staple, or both. Either way, if 'resto' was removed this would still be a nice looking book, but about half the grade. And PLODs usually go for half of what a Blue label would get, so I am asking $500

First, da rules is I say da rules
No HOSers or Probies or any bad people.
Payment over $999 Check, money order, or Wire Transfer. Under $999 those methods or PayPal
Shipping on purchases under $999, $20 for insured Priority, over $999 free (both in CONUS - outside CONUS or Foreigners contact me for shipping, we'll figure out what works for you)
Slabs no returns. If they arrive damaged contact me and we can either do a refund or I will refund you the shipping and reholder fee, up to you (damage occurs rarely, but it has happened despite my best efforts)
I will entertain offers, but reserve the right to reject any I don't want to accept.
First in the thread wins, trumps any private negotiation agreements in DMs, so if we agree, take it in thread to secure the win.
I'll leave this here for the rest of the week.
Thanks!!!

Technically solid, but I suspect the RH edge of the FC has been trimmed, and you can see the soiling FC. Staples
rusty with some migration lower one, chip out lower edge BC. Large light dogears upper LH BC. General wear.
Flat and tight, white pages.
If it doesn't sell here I'll send it out for a press and a cleaning.
Asking $175
