  1. Wow, that much for a Frazetta auto?! I was thinking $500 to $1K, but really, as is so frequent for me, I had no clue.
  2. If the books were at equivalent prices now, it would be a different discussion. But since the prices are different. The ASM seems to go for $850 to $950 and She Hulk $150 to $200 in 9.8 on ebay, I stand by my point.
  3. Yeah, She Hulk has capability of stand alone. I don't think Black Cat can be a stand alone.
  4. I was joking about being the buyer, but it looks like fade to me.
  5. Did I pay too much? I figured the slab was worth $20 or $25 by itself.
  6. Do you not know that DD 131 is first Bullseye? Here's a wild thought... could he have been buying books he wanted for his collection, instead of just buying keys What are you, nuts? Can't make money like that You guys are derailing a good discussion on bottles I seriously have to stop by your store next time I am in town.... its dead today. Sold 2 LPs and its 27 degrees out there. I hate these kinda days. But ya hopefully this summah I'm gonna rent a cah next time Pahk the cah at Hahvahd yahd before catching a game at Fenway Phark then Chowdah at No Name Seafood.
  7. Any value to these due to the Star Trek connection? I have an unopened one. Yes, it's full! Sorry to hear it's still full.
  8. Anecdotally I quit watching the show a couple years ago, but my wife still faithfully watches. There are several people at her work that talk about it, so we have to watch Shameless on demand. There are also several friends that still love it religiously. I wonder if those that have access to the comics perceive a fall off whereas those that don't read them think it's still great?
  9. Silver Surfer would be my choice. After reading the book, "Marvel Comics, the Untold Story", I think he really enjoyed writing that. Some great covers there, issue four and the issue with Mephisto come to mind. Regarding value and price appreciation, I'm not sure if I would pay (is it $100?) to have him sign something for appreciation. He's signed many books. I would check ebay and see what's going on with the pricing. You might be able to get a better book signed and not have to hassle with the certification, etc. I was just reading in the Desert Wind post someone got an ASM 50 double signed with Lee and Romita. That looked sweet.
  10. Sadly, I think today the Ripken FF error is worth more than Wade 'fried chicken' Boggs.
  11. That is awesome. Kind of looks they're making an argument on the different age definitions too.
  12. I forget, what the white our or the sharpie scribble the one to have? I only ever got the black tape one. The original "F--- Face" is the one to have because it's the best baseball card ever Yeah, I was never into errors/corrected. There was also the cut one. I think the white one was the 2nd most rare one. I wanted the one with the writing, but was never going to pay for it.
  13. Nice pics! I'll get to it. Scanning during office hours is a no no. Unlike filling your office with short boxes of comics. They don't care about that. Honestly. It's good signaling theory. As long as the books are there, so are you. If you ever take the books/boxes home though...
  14. You can tell who the shills are b/c they don't posit any facts, just ad hominin attacks and glittering generalities. Oh, and I think CGC is new this time around.
  15. If ya gotta ask, it's over your head. I would guess one milllllion dollars... Clearly he overpaid. Sometimes you under pay. Sometimes you over pay. Hopefully the market keeps appreciating.
  16. Packed well, shipped promptly, graded accurately, echoing all the prior comments.
