A few more interesting pieces coming up 1st time I remember seeing this piece up for sell. The “Funky Leg” Conan cover is back again.
-
My last CGC purchase was from our very own Gator, Star Spangled 7, quite possibly one of the greatest comics ever published.

I definitely don't fully understand CGCs grading standard so I tend to buy based on my likes and dislikes. For DCs, Needs to be well centered, good registration, and the circle in the upper right corner can't be cut. First book, second book, miscut Third book, only the slightest miscue and a full circle -
That's a lot of wood for only $400

Anyone win anything in the Hakes Auction?
batman_fan replied to batman_fan's topic in Original Comic Art
I paid $3450 for my 1955 strip which is why I thought this 1951 strip was a good buy for the buyer. I do like my strip better but I thought the 1951 strip was a good one. It has that very early Dennis look and the bit is pretty good. -

Hold on a second there cowboy, are you saying there are dishonest people working in our Post Offices? -
I made some people pay more for some items but no win for me. 1951 Dennis the Menace daily - $4023 actually a good price. I would have bid more but I already have one I like. Dungeons and Dragons graded box set - $1882 higher than I thought but happy I contributed too the higher price. Creature from the Black Lagoon sealed kit, 2nd issue - $1416 about right, I also helped run it up

I actually think I should delete that post before Tim sues me for defamation. He would have a very strong case.

Tim is the foremost Peppermint Patty fan throughout the world.

I have the same opinion as Grapeape, I avoid all “Kane” artwork like the plague. His work has been forged heavily for at least as long as I have been collecting (1976). I don’t care where it comes from, it should always be treated skeptically. If I really wanted to get a piece of GA Batman artwork I would buy a GA page from Batman, Detective, or World’s Finest and just tell myself it was drawn by Kane.

I was always a Ral Partha guy. I liked his detail on his figures and the character proportions.

The real question is who DOESN’T sniff comics
-
Congrats on the pick-up. Once I win one items I go hard on others because of the shipping fixed cost. My winnings. The World of Warhawk stuff was coming out as I quit playing but I liked the artwork on this one. I had an insane fantasy about winning it off Heritage when it auctioned a while back but of course got destroyed as it closed.
