  1. Now that is what I would call one amazing book! Talk about a scarce issue! Congrats, you must be flying high!
  2. Awesome Submariner page - Thanks, it has popped up a few times in that last couple of years, but now it is gone for good! I was really happy when I was able to buy it since I missed it in Heritage's auction the 1st go around and got home late from work and missed it in the CLINK auction.
  3. Hey Bangzoom, did you give a total count on the entire collection?
  4. Sweet group shot, I really love that Detective 31!
  5. Man, people have been picking up some pretty amazing stuff lately!
  6. Hey Bill...with all seriousness...congrats! I know Action #1 is "the big book" for the hobyy, but for me, it is Tec 27. This IMO is the grail of all grails. Superman couldn't hold Batman's jockstrap ! but Robin could
  7. get that 27 back in a fortress, my good man...I have seen what your dog likes to chew on! rick It is locked up tight in the safe now. Thanks again for a wonderful deal on my all-time grail comic!! Who here believes Bill has the Det 27 in a safe? Come on Bill, you know it is in the nightstand next to you bed so it is the last thing you look at before turning the lights out.
  8. Wow Bill what a great group shot, now if there were just an Action 1, Superman 1, and Marvel Comics 1 ...
  9. Very nice Bill, I think you made a wise decision. Now what about the question I asked in my PM?
  10. hello all... awin is legit, he has both books...he lives about 40 minutes from me, and I have tried for over a year to get him to just sell me the tec 28...but apparently, he will only do as a pair... I won't pull the trigger for fr/gd copies at that price (he is slightly overgraded, but have had it down as low as $10,500 for the pair, I believe)...the 28 is missing bottom left corner and bottom right corner through out the book, likely a fr to fr/gd ... I am much happier with a restored 8.0 at that price! rick The Detective 28 has one of the defects I hate way too much to consider. I agree, the price seems way too high.
  11. I'm not sure whether that post was being facetious or not, but as someone who's made a living as a contrarian, I agree 100%. I wouldn't be buying a Detective #28-#37 right now with someone else's money (much less my own). I couldn't agree more. I will wait till the craze dies and the next one starts (Action War Covers) and pick them up then.
  12. Brad, Congrats on crossing over to the Dark Side and what a way to do it!
  13. Wow Bill you must have a lot of trash
  14. Speaking of fantastic covers....this "pair of blue jeans" arrived today.. Bill, you are THE MAN, sweet pick-up. Captain AMerica 1 is high on my want list and that looks like a sweet copy!
  15. Wow, for someone of your age, you sure look young!
