  1. You see a book like that in that kind of condition and if just make you marvel at how some of these gems survived.
  2. This is for Bill, two of my favorites from my collection.
  3. Hi, my name is Greg and I have Detective 35 envy. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. Sweet set of books!
  4. Would it make you cry if I told you I paid ~ $300 under guide even with the 15% juice? It made me happy. Another book on my want list for more than 10 years that I can finally mark off. I thought you snagged a copy of it?
  5. That book was on my want list for a long time. A clean copy showed up in Heritage's auction a while back and I snagged it.
  6. More Fun 53, although I have always loved that Superboy cover ...
  7. There are actually several Batmans and Detectives from Canada (Batman 59 has been around a few times). I believe there was a Batman 2 as well. I started picking them up just becasue they are different. I never looked at the two side by side until these pictures and that was when I saw the difference.
  8. Hi Rick, You should actually be talking to my son since he will be the one selling them after my death unless he catches the bug as well. Greg
  9. I actually really like Archies quite a bit. There is just something cool about the artwork!
  10. Thanks for all the kind comments everyone. I was hoping to take more but my 4 year old son got booted of the computer by mom and came in the room so I had to cut the photo session short.
  11. Well, I finally got a little time to take a few pics of some of my junk. Please note one key thing, the two copies of Batman 54 are different, the 6.5 is the Canadian version and the 8.5 is the US version. Note that teh Canadian version only has two billboards on the wall!
  12. I will go with the Tec, I have always liked David Letterman, and this being his first cover appearance and all... @rap, now that everyone knows about the Letterman cover it will cost some serious buck to buy
  13. Rick, shouldn't you use some type of thin set mortor before you re-tile over existing tile Just kidding, another picture that makes me dream!
  14. Definitely MM2, always liked the Angel and who knows, maybe a 9.2 on the next submission.
  15. Silver, you consistantly post some sweet sweet DCs. Keep it up man, I am loving them!
  16. Amazing Bill ! Is the Batman 1 restored and if so how much work was done? Looks amazing! Thanks Bro! I am very happy. I have been without a Batman #1 for five years, and it is just about my favorite book (other than Tec 27). This one was from an original owner collection, Matt just finished the resto and I traded him for it. The work is nice, and not too heavy. The pages are a beautiful off-white to white. Hey Bill, I will PM you my address so you can send it to me for a closer look. Don't worry, I will send it back

  18. Oh My God! I don't want to see the pictures of what went on after the books were spread all over the bed.
  19. Read my post, I am not saying scams are not occuring in the US, just that the legal venues are easier. If you have a good understanding of the laws in Canada, good for you, buy from there. If you have had great experience buying from Nigeria, good for you keep doing it. For myself, no way.
  20. The only way I would consider slabbing a nice book like that is if I were going to sell. Otherwise, keep it "fresh". Personally, I pull out my Batman 1 several times a year, pull it out of the mylars, and flip through it. It also turns my frown upside down.
  21. Myself, I don't do any business outside the US. I did some Canadian transactions once but it too almost six weeks to receive my books. I think the scams people run on folks in the US are widely distributed around the world so there are countless crooks and Ebay is more than willing to allow it to continue provided you pay your ebay fees. Nope stick to the US, sure there are crooks here, but the legal venues are more accessible.
  22. I definitely would not CGC it. Looks too nice to have stuck in a CGC case. Congrats!
  23. No doubt, All-American 21! Available you say ...
