  1. The Crippen premiums on Tec #31 and #35 were a bit crazy. Detective #31 CGC 5.5 $17327 Detective #33 CGC 4.0 $7767 Detective #35 CGC 5.5 $17925 Never noticed these auction results before. Now, that's some really aggressive pricing on the 'Tec #31 and especially on the 'Tec #35. I guess this goes to show it's really all about the covers. Let's see, now that works out to 2X condition guide for the 'Tec #31 and a whooping 6X plus condition guide for the 'Tec #35. Looks like issue #35 has really picked up steam lately with some pretty eye-opening sales. It should be noted that these types of multiples are generally reserved for HG copies. To me, when you see these same types of multiples cascading down to the mid or lower grades is a sign of real strength and a indication that a particular book is truly really undervalued in the guide. This factor should not be underplayed because the majority of all books cannot support any type of multiple as it moves down through the condition scale. Must be related to our current focus on cover images as I remember other similar results such as More Fun #56 and Target Comics #7 from a couple of years ago. The prices here for the 35 got me to dig out my copy....love this cover....Rockford copy,,. probably a nice F+...supple.......jon Jon, Can you put me on the list for that book if you ever decide to sell.
  2. If you ever tire of that Det 187, remember this poor misfortunite individual ...
  3. I can accept paypal so I am willing to hold the money. Also, pressing DOES NOT REQUIRE THE ENTIRE COVER TO BE PRESSED!!!
  4. I have no interest in explaining this over and over again. Believe what you want to believe. From now on when I see incorrect statements like "Chicago pedigrees are not cleaned or pressed" I am just going to keep my mouth shut. And on the off chance you are confident in your beliefs, I would happily bet you $1000 I can find some sort of proof that the Subby #3 has undergone some sort of cleaning or pressing treatment. PM me if you are interested in a friendly wajor. Filter, Please don't hold back stuff like this Sub 3. I know the board is full of people that get quite upset when this stuff comes up and then try to make people out to be nut jobs, but there are a lot of us that appriciate it when this stuff comes to surface. So please keep it coming. Greg
  5. Det 35, I think it was a smoking deal 1st round
  6. Captain America 1. That is actually one of my grail books. I just love the cover.
  7. Based on my extensive research into Batman and Robin, I can say with 100% certainty, Robin could (and in fact would like to) carry Spider-man's jock strap.
  8. Detective 38! That book is just so nice looking!
  9. I could use the Det 34, but Cream to off-white coupled with an Action 6 showing a gorilla ready to B slap that dude it just makes me feel warm all over Action 6 please
  10. I hate you, no, I mean I really hate you. This is by far the hardest one yet for me. I absolutely would love to have the Detective, especially with the slight restoration, but Adventure 40 is also a grail plus it is a Mile High, Plus it is just so &^%$( pretty. I guess I would take the Detective 27 and then distract you and grab the Adventure 40 and RUN!
  11. That is a tough one, the All American 16 has quite a bit of restoration while the Nickel Comic has that phalic symbol hero but it is the Mile High. Very tough. I guess I would go for *spoon* head, I mean Nickel Comics.
  12. Merde! Yeah, I'm definately going for the Caps. Too many freakin' Tec fans out there. Plus, Kirby beats Kane in the art department. I will be praying for your soul after making that statement.
  13. I would take the Detecives. In that lower grade range, you wouldn't feel so bad about taking all your clothes off and rolling around on them. Wait did I say that out loud?
  14. What do you mean no Gay jokes about Captain Marvel? He is the poster child for Gay jokes. Don't forget about "Billy" his young adolecent alter ego. The big problem with Captain Marvel is they stopped the character before the Village People came out, otherwise that would have been a six member band!
  15. Congrats! You defintely lucked out that I was passing on this auction as the 76 was the one book I was really interested in.
  16. Well I guess it is true then...that gentlemen prefer blondes....
  17. I would take the NYWF because it has the Superman cover before he began dying his hair.
  18. Look at it this way, go for the Action 1, sell it for a tidy sum and buy Captain America 1 and 2 in 8.0, or settle for a 6.0 CA1 and buy the remaining first 10 issues with the remainder ...
  19. If I pick the Action 1, will you throw in a kick in the groin for free?
  20. BATMAN 1 BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. link worked, I remember seeing this book on Bob's wall for quite a while at the shows. Looked pretty clean, but had quite a bit of work done to it, but nice overall feel.
